I just walked out of Knotts Berry Farm tonight, and there it was, an original mid 1990's Ford Windstar, sitting in the parking lot, mint condition, a relic of the 1990's.
My parents had a teal one. Same year. Many fun memories from family trips in it, but it was by far the most problematic vehicle thats ever sat in our driveway lol. LOTS of problems.
This is when the time back then, SUV were too big and made for off-road users! For minivans after the first start of the full-size vans, they were becoming hot cakes as family were need to expand and carrying people around! This is one of the rare breed for this first generation model, as many we know Ford had so many recalls, this of course was taken care well by we know who it is! I remember riding on this generation, indeed very comfortable! I remember driving the 2nd generation version in 2003! And, final assembly was made from Oakville, ON, Canada! We will be looking forward to see this fully restoration soon!
Just sold my 2000 Windstar, it had 223,000 so pretty good for a Windstar and that van was like riding in luxury, the seats are so comfy. I went today to look at a 2016 dodge caravan, the seats which were leather felt like I was sitting on cardboard they were so hard. It was a great deal but I turned it town because of the seats. After having a Windstar I got spoiled.
I have a 2000 SEL windstar, that im in the process of bringing back to life, picked it up for $1800, and thanks to @Chrisfix I had the courage to take it upon myself to do some minor repairs, and besides a undiagnosed misfire it runs great now! It used to stall out regularly, but I threw on a new IAC valve and topped up all the fluids. Next is a tune up, and fuel filter replacement :D
As a teen in the late 90s i couldnt understand why parents were ditching minivans for suburbans, expeditions, excursions, tahoes, etc...and I still dont. ❤ my odyssey.
A great read is the How hard is it to make a minivan series on curbside classic. Great series. Its a seried of all the competitors to the chrysler minivans and how they all failed to really compete with chrysler till the 99 Odyssey came out
I have autism, and as memorable as it was, there was a bad but for me, when my older non-autistic brother and I rode in the second row, we actually had two separate bucket seats, the kinds other people refer to as "captain's chairs," so we had an empty space between us, same went with our parents in the front row, however, all three of them each had a cupholder, two in a pop out tray for our mom and dad to share, and the other on the solid wall, but with my seat by the sliding door, I had no cuoholder at all, I had no choice but to do all I could to make due, and they didn't work out very well, I held my pop cans in my hands, and sometimes dropped them to the floor making a big mess, since autistic people have a higher likelihood of dropping things than non-autistic people, we had to pull over to have my mom clean up, and she and my dad got mad at me for no reason, I told them it wouldn't have happened if I had a cupholder, then I tried going out with no beverage at all, but when I got dehydrated, especially from fast food lanes at fast food restaurants, they, as well as my bossy older brother, also got mad at me for making me share their drinks with me, I told them I didn't bring mine because I'd drop them again and they'd get mad at me again, and not bringing a frink with me would also have never happened if I had a cupholder, them I tried leaning my pop can between the sliding door and one of the frames, but when my dad braked hard, my cans tipped over and spilled, he pulled over, my mom cleaned up, and they got mad at me for putting my can there, and again, I told them it also never would have happened if I had a cupholder, then I tried riding in the third row behind my seat, and it went fine until my dad scolded me for my so-called drama, and told me to stop doing that, and I told him I needed that cupholder, but he was too selfish to let me sit back there fair enough for me to reach it, and again, I told him it wouldn't have happened if I had a cupholder, after going back to my seat in the second row, the one by the sliding door, I then had no choice but to recline my seat just to reach that cupholder, it was inconvenient and annoying, and I couldn't tolerate it, it was the only way could take beverages with me and not get yelled at for dropping my pop cans or having all three of them share their cans with me, yet, my dad yelled at me anyways, for so-called recklessness to my seat, reclining it over and over and over again just for my pop can, and I told him once again, it never would have happened if I had a cupholder, and even I told my bossy brother that I needed to switch places with him, but he refused to, and my dad, as well as my mom too, refused to make him do it, even at times, I snuck into his seat just for the cupholder he had, and he got angry at me, and we got into a big fight, and my dad blamed it on me, and I told him it never would have happened if I had a cupholder, eventually, enough was enough for him, but that wasn't my fault, it was his responsibility, as well as my mom's, to investigate my seat and it's surroundings, but he refused to take action until after too many incidents as described because they were too lazy, they just blamed it on me, I could tell they used to favour my brother over me, and I didn't do anything to deserve it, even so, they finally did something to put an end to all that unreasonable nonsense, one evening, we went grocery shopping at Meijer, a grocery shopping business that competes with Walmart, and while my mom and brother took their shopping cart to groceries, my dad and I had split off to general merchandise, we went to the auto and camping aisle, found a selection of portable car consoles with cupholders included, we grabbed the tan one because of our tan interior, and hauled it towards groceries, caught up with my mom and brother, put the console in the cart, and finished the remainder of our shopping list, and went to the check-out lane, our groceries were scanned, same for my console, then my dad's credit card, and our groceries back in the cart, and then back out to the van, my brother opened the tailgate, and he helped my mom load groceries, I opened the sliding door, and my dad helpede load my console between both bucket seats, mine and my brother's, I positioned it to the way I wanted it, and we went home, them the next time we went out with that van, I got excited, I was able to take my pop cans and put them in that cupholder closest to my seat, and there were no more incidents as described from above, life in that van got better for me after that, just as fair for me as for my brother and our parents, and I went from having no cupholders at all to having two cupholders at the most, which was better than one, and if you still have that van, take a look at the second row, and you'll see what I mean about the left side of the second row having a cupholder at the least and the right side not having one at all.
Never in my wildest thoughts I would have imagine Chris Fix on your channel. Thumbs up 👍🏻 keep up the great work guys!

minivans are the best!
@@carsofqueens Just don't get the new ones. Those new minivans have the same quality as a lego set
I Iove the collab

I want a time machine for going to these vehicles' time.
The neighbors: “The guy with the helmet who speaks to his cars is giving some kid his car 😱😱”
Schöner Ford Windstar,
ChrisFix send me here, whoever is sent by Chris Fix, hit like❤😊
My grandpa had the same one but it was green same wheels too
Alright, awesome!!!!
thank you for watching!
Wow, almost 10 million subscribers on his channel. That's awesome. Did he film this?
yes he did hold the camera for a lot of it!
Chris fix came through 🙏
indeed
Why would he get rid of the van?
I can’t believe it lasted 300k
I don't understand the tires.
That size of tire won't fit on those windstar OEM wheels.
A Windstar with 300k? Shocking
That red car was looking odd was that the new project car?... Just guessing
haha i’m glad you noticed - it was a lowkey car that ChrisFix was fixing up and giving to a veteran’s family.
@@carsofqueens ohhh okk
