And yes, there is a way for Black Women to get over their self hatred. It is called “Decolonizing” your mind. In other words learning to apreciate your west African Beauty. 👸🏿👸🏿👸🏿✨
Right! Decolonizing my mind especially when it comes to my type 4 hair has just been so freeing for me. Doing traditional African hairstyles with my natural hair and wearing my afro and not caring about what others think about it (ironically, I live in Nigeria lol) has really helped me. Btw I love your channel! It's growing so fast!🎉
I am a dark skinned black woman. I realized long time ago that is not going to change. It took years of self talk to love my dark skin. And then i grew up and found men of all creeds and colors wanting my time, and thinking im gorgeous. I love being a little coffee bean complected gal; and i am Afro Caribbean with a West African look. Where are her parents? Does she have friends? She’s beautiful.
Black man here, just gonna drop by for a sec and leave your space for black sisterhood. Seeing this video full of self awareness and lack of victimisation is amazing, on the male side I’m also starting to see fellow blk men calling us out for letting pookies run the community, lusting publicly after other women, crying about the yt man and not doing anything to change our situation etc The more conversations we have like this at aren’t sugar coated the closer we’ll move to improvement. Good day everyone 👌🏿
LOVE THIS!!! can’t tell when last I’ve felt so happy and the source is a black man. Hope more black men like you keep sprouting and women like us re invent what it means to beautiful in our TRADITIONAL African eyes and we all rebuild our community. Keep strong.
She's so pretty. But i totally understand how she feels. I grew up being teased by my peers and dusties. I didn't have a complex about my skin tone nor did i think i was ugly. It's like my own community had a problem with me NOT hating myself and pointed out.... unprovoked..... about how ugly I was. So I eventually started to believe them. Haven't been able to shake that belief ever since 🤷🏿♀️😞
That’s very understandable especially when it’s coming from your own community who is supposed to embrace and uplift you. Words can really break down one’s spirit and it’s hard to get back but you need to understand that you’re important and worthy to have everything in this one life you have to live. Your worth as a human being, isn’t tied to your looks . Have you tried going into different environments like clubs for specific hobbies so you can meet more like minded people from other races ? This may help to distract you and build relationships and friendships outside of your toxic community also try to not consume hateful content about black women. Thanks for your comment love ❤️

I’ve seen that creator on TikTok. Yup she’s self hating and it’s sad because she has beautiful West African Features 🥀✨. That’s why channels like me and you exist we need to get young Black Woman out of the Paradox.
I am an ambiguous black woman who is MGM. You are 100% correct. We should not be the beauty standard for UABW, it’s very unfair. We need to go back to calling those who are mixed phenotype, mixed race, mulatto, bi or multi racial. That way there is no confusion. UABW should not embrace Meghan Markle as being like them, she is NOT. Wonderful analysis, practical and good food for thought.
Agree. Aduct Akech, Gabrielle Union, Kenya Moore, Cheryl Lee Ralph, Lypita Nyongo, Lauren Hill, Halle Bailey -- A few names that should EXCLUSIVELY represent this category of black women. Add more names below!

Black women: Please embrace your NATURAL beauty. Keep your skin hydrated and glowing, keep your natural hair and well maintained, and stop trying to cosplay as European women. Confidence is a majorly beautiful trait in and of itself

And i was surprised when i find out how common for b is to wear wigs. I dont really get this, but i guess its partly a cultural thing?
Yeah, it’s me hugely a cultural things you see other women do it then you do it those some do use it to mask self-hate or there an acceptance of their natural beauty like most women of all races
@@Bri-rw7ik , yeah, makes sense. Somewhere I read the comment that supposedly some black men tend to dislike natural black women's hair which is weird to me. Personally I prefer natural ones, idea of the thing when you can have your natural hair sounds weird to me but it's just because of my culture, in my country barely anyone wears them if they have their own hair no matter how it looks like. And wigs are mostly associated with cancer, so my mother also had some untill her hair regrew a bit so she stoped wearing a wig especially during the summer
@@Kunigunda897 yeah I also heard the same thing and from what I’ve seen from social media like in Reddit spaces that black men, especially when their westernized tend to dislike black women’s features, but most black women globally at least where I’m from because I’m African it’s not a norm to wear wigs here the celebrities and socialites do it the same way they would wear westernize clothing that are deemed not appropriate by general African culture, so it’s more of niche thing or special occasion like wedding graduations to switch things up because wigs are expensive and are seen as a status symbol of some sort(given the cost of importation in Africa). but also some use it as a protective style.
