CORRECTIONS: 28:52 - Items are dropped off on the TILE, not the specific location on the tile. So anyone can pick the item up when on any location of that tile. 47:29 - Technically, this is called a "Halfway Camp", not a "Base Camp. 47:55 - There is no jumping in competitive mode, so you still count the occupied spaces that you are allowed to move through as part of the movement. 49:37 - Clarification: Stopping is NOT necessary in order to place a flag down for the Halfway Camp or summit.
ve been following you for ages. Not only have I seen you grow up to become a young man but also you have become better and better at showing these games potentials. As a sidenote you also slowed down a bit and it's easier to understand what youre saying. That means 10/10 Jon and I am so happy to say it. :-)
Nice game coverage. Thank you. At 24:26, the neutral tile could have been rotated CCW (long edge at the top) and Green Mountaineer could have continued.
Wow, didnt expect this video, although this is a sponsored playthrough, have you ever played this or plan to play it and give your opinion. I have the game with the two expansions (teams and yeti) and only played it once but because of how brutal it is, my friends didnt seem to warm up to it. Im hoping to play it with a different group and hope for a different experience.
I haven't played it, what you see in this video is the extent to which I have played the game and obviously this is an artificial environment since I am focusing on teaching vs authentic play. Having the game feel brutal does seem on-theme to me though.
I had both expansions too, but Yeti never resonated with me, so I sold it. Teams seems like it would be better with 4 players (2 Teams of 2), and it's usually just my wife and I, so I haven't incorporated it. This one was a surprise to me that I kept it, and I was close to selling it. My first few playthroughs seemed too easy......quick up and down the mountain, and I didn't feel the challenge. Then I upped the difficulty and had one game where both players died mere steps away from base camp. Played it again, and both players died halfway up the mountain due to poor rolls and horrible events. It was then, realizing how fickle and punishing this fictitious mountain was, that I shouldn't take this game's challenge for granted and have made it a keeper. As a side note, Trey Parker of South Park fame, listed this game as one of his #1 game when he was listing his Top 10 Games of all time on Dice Tower Studios about a year ago.
Played it competitive and cooperative with my wife. I have also played it solo, controlling 2 characters. The game seems like it would be straightforward and not very challenging....yeah, right. I have had a few games I zipped through, no blizzard roles and fortunate draws of tiles and Event cards, although I've had more games when the dice hate me and I draw every possible negative card from the deck and my characters are close to death before getting halfway up.

Just got this game, all the expansions and the big box. I haven’t played it yet, and now I’m looking forward to it!
Dude! Did you "rig" the game to explain it better?? That's nuts!! Love your content

Huh, yeah I think you are right. Glad you enjoyed this :)
Great job! Looking forward to getting this to the table soon
I wasn't super interested until you started discussing the competitive mode and the Yeti expansion. I may have to check this out...
