- Decentralized waste-water management in Chunar
From the galis of Lucknow to the ghats of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh is a state with many faces and dimensions. The state has a population of about 24 crore (2011), of which 70% live in rural areas. But in recent years, Indian villages have been quickly transforming into urban spaces. This rapid urbanisation has been a major challenge for Uttar Pradesh in the past couple of years. Especially, when it comes to wastewater and septage management. Over the past few decades, the health of river Ganga had been substantially affected by the mixing of sewage and household septic waste via open drains ending into the river. River Ganga which flows through 28 districts of the state is in a dire situation. But today, a small town located in the Mirzapur district on the banks of Ganga and Jargo is showing Uttar Pradesh how to efficiently manage its septage waste while also questioning its inclusive wastewater management journey.

I wasn't even aware about STP & FSTP... Amazing initiative by local government and thank you DTE for making and sharing such informative content.
Please keep bringing such ground reports.
I think Odisha has done it across most of its municipalities much before this one. Chunar proj is amazing. But I would request you to do homework on Odisha's sewage treatment model

- Sludges are removed from bio-settlers and Co composting done

Reuploaded?
what about supernatant that flows from septic tank ? Any treatment other than septic tank ?
And FSTP only address the semi solids !
Biodigester is a alternative method.
The main thing was fund management. If it would be provided much helpful
Commendable work, but this is more aggregation and processing , and less about decentralization
English subtitles please
I just really do not understand that we are in the year of 1923 in India does not know more about their waste water. I know America is a major polluter, especially from all the farm animals that come on. We do have our sewage plan and we do over use all pesticides, herbicides and insecticide. They all equal the same thing.
This will keep going as it is because we behave like a third person in the environment related issues. We knows the problems, we knows the solutions but we want someone else to do it for us, may be a god like thing. Why don't we join the government departments and try to solve all these things!!
Don't generalize that india is in 1923
There are some States in india still lives in 1950 because of family political parties.
They don't want anything to improve other than freebies
This is changing slowly
