That was before the rain. We went down rhg Strzelecki as it was open but it was in very bad shape for about 70km where the band of rain went through. Camerons corner to Mert Merty was also badly damaged and we leant the lesson early that we had to crest every dune at 10kph just to make sure there was still a road left on the other side.
2nd the Bushranger sand flags advice. Pretty bullet proof. Mine survived the Simpson crossing without breaking a sweat. Have done a couple of other trips without a problem. Not cheap though. Think it was almost $200.
