really enjoyed watching, my wife and I are looking to drive the Birdsville track next year on our way home from SA. Just for your interest those rocky /stoney sections are called Gibba plains, we love Birdsville and are looking forward to our next visit there.
Hey Paul & Wenda, thanks for another awesome video. You did an amazing job showing off so many unique camp spots and points of interest along the Birdsville Track. Really brings the journey to life and highlights just how much there is to see beyond the track itself. You captured the harsh beauty and history of the outback perfectly. Stay safe, and see you next week. Corrie & Lyn ❤
Clayton station holds a special place in my heart lol, that was the night I front a the camp fire when my ears started ringing! And haven’t stopped since!, that was 2018.cheers
Thanks as usual for another great video. My wife and I have driven the Birdsville and Oodnadatta Tracks so it’s a great nostalgia trip. But you two are tougher than us. How could you not use fly nets over your faces? Our car has a fly net permanently in the storage bin of each of the front doors. You never know.
Awesome track I’ve done it a few times back in the ninety’s The old ford ute you found on the mound is the page family ute They broke down back in the fifty’s ( ran out of petrol) And the whole family perished here Really sad story
The stones are called gibbers. We found the Birdsville track easier to travel than the Oodnadatta track but if it wet it’s a very different experience. Safe travels.
@@davidcox8943 👍 they are very smooth and just to see so many was incredible. We agree the Birdsville is a better track to drive and you could see how a bit of rain would make it a mess Cheers Paul and Wenda
Great video. We had hoped to do the Birdsville Track mid this year but it was still closed so plan B and went up through Coober Pedy etc for a "small" detour back to Cairns. So hopefully next year.
Great Episode.🍷🍷🌸 I was just wondering when the road train goes past you do you keep your engine running or turn it off form the dust. Take care have a wonderful week 🦘🦘🍷🍷
@@paultabone2010 thank you 😊 we kept it running as the dust settled pretty quick. If it was thicker dust (like some of the racks we’ve been on) we’d turn it off. Rarely happen. In the 4 years we’ve been traveling it’s probably happened 6 or 7 times Cheers Paul and Wenda
Great info, and perfect timing, I’m about to make my way up on a road bike. In a week or so. I was going to camp, but changed my mind after seeing the snakes. 😖Will stay in cabins now. How did you find mobile reception along the way? I was going to rely solely on the iPhone for guidance? Cheers
