They're not already there on the store fronts and bus stops....If they're not there already. I can see not bringing them there, but hoe will that hurt you, that building really isn't in your neighborhood.....it's more industrial
The reality is that majority of the people are against any homeless shelters near where they live. This is understandable, because crimes, drugs, and violence are legitimate concerns that people have about the homeless. At the same time, the homeless problem won't simply go away but will worsen. More and more homeless people will continue to camp out on sidewalks near homes, parks, schools, and businesses whether residents like it or not. The only solution is to find large pieces of land outside of the cities to build homeless shelters. The major challege is how to persuade or force homeless people to move there. For the project to have any chance of success, you must have security, job training, alcohol/drug treatments, mental health service, and other social services in place to make sure they are getting the help they need to turn their lives around.
Do not have problems many are women and children just down on their luck disgusting worries about a theater. I remember when people used to care about each other. Maybe it is time for this disgusting world to end. What did Jesus say if you house them you are doing the same for him. What is the world coming to. I say in the past thirty years selfishness all around.

Put them in cages in the zoo, they can throw their poop at each other. they are animals, treat them as such. by doing so, maybe some will shape up. They must be removed from society.
this sounds like a good idea because that big building is still in good condition and the city needs to follow their plans and open that building up to help the homeless people get back on their feet ..god bless the homeless people.
ATTN: EVERYBODY EVERYWHERE Here's the answer. Build a huge lot out in the woods away from the cities. Have police enforcement, healthcare & job resources available for them. Make it free, free food & cots to sleep. Showers available too. Absolutely free to go but strict guidelines, if they don't want to stay they have to live in the woods. Problem solved.
Nah an even better way is rounding them all up and separate them into groups. Those that accept help will get it, but those that don't or are to violent will be tied up and executed. Issue is solved in a week

@@dariofuentes7310 Yes. I’m a civil servant and live in Oakland. We have tons of homeless outreach centers all around. One right down the street from me. I have no problem with it bc it keeps them housed and in one place from wandering around and living directly in the streets. Y’all better see a blessing when y’all have one. A building is better than a sidewalk and I would want that for any of my fellow human beings. Also , my family took in foster kids all the time when we were young so taking people in that are less fortunate is part of my upbringing. It would have been a good idea to make that building apartment units for good people. But hell no to be using it for criminal junkie bums. Ship the junkie bums to red chinas slave camps, that will sober them up. F them.
They like the idea of helping the homeless, but far away from their neighborhood lol. Complain about everything, but bring no better ideas to the table
In other words, they just want the homeless left on the streets in exchange for a grocery store and theater. Gotcha..enjoy your homeless. Order online.
This whole thing is so inappropriately dealt with. The man who said they need help and not a place to sleep.... both correct and incorrect. The help must happen or all that happens is an inabling project. In order to get the help they need to be made to maditorily do services either in the building or the community they are living in. Give them a sense of belonging and they will learn they dont have to behave like they are being dejected. And this separate from the rejection they feel from being pigeonholed into the role others say they must be playing because of the way they look and there curent circumstance. In bc on the sunshine coast in Powell river they have tried this type of housing help. The project was slated as inexpensive housing with strict councillors and medical staff helping people get there lives back together so they could quickly find new housing. Projected stay time was 4 months. This quickly shifted into a low barrier housing project that gave them $250/m rent with 1-2 meals paid for and an inditerminant stay time as long as you didnt asalt the staff..... f that!!!!! This in no way has helped anyone there other than to make it easier for them to get and.take.what they want drug wise. The placement of these housing sights needs to be away from city centers... and all shopping. The crime rate around the housing shot up to the point that stores have been closing earlier to avoid so much loss and having to call police and ambulance services to remove overdoses victims and people who got high in the bathroom and are to high to leave on there own power. Many people will benefit from the help but not if there isnt enough help to actually make a difference. Helpful people who truly care are in short supply so these places will always be understaffed. Almost setting themselves up.to fail. Sad really. Wish we could all care and help eachother instead of all being detached and complaining about how things are or aren't being done.
These junkie bums are violent, criminal. they have no place in our cities. they need to be locked up away from society. Put them in a penal colony on some far away deserted island.
how come when people talk about homeless, they refer to black and brown people? I see lots of white homeless too. why asian people are rarely homeless? anyone knows?
Actually are lots of different white ,blacks ,Asians Latinos In the shelter remember some ppl don’t have family, they get old dimensia I seen some of the nicest old Asian ladies who just loved cats and she would just go out every day a feed the strays but she was aging with memory problems she had to get surgery and recover in the shelter where she still lives some these women die here just because they can’t getthey meds they are use to,I watch a girl go into diabetic shock because they feed u rotten food and u have to give them all ur medication and wait for them to feel like distributing it to u,if they feel like it…so it’s very hurtful and umb AF for most of these comments thinking homeless can’t come in babies, children, teens and adults for whatever reason ,they have trans women living there fighting girls staff laughs does nothing, men walk in on women getting dressed it’s allowed because to world wen u suddenly become homeless u have no rights
I think this is a wonderful idea. Those opposing should place themselves in the situation of non- housing. Until you have lived that life, you'll never understand. America would not have a housing crises if every investor would take this same initiative. There are far too many buildings sitting idle that would more than accommodate those in need of shelter. If they can live on the streets without causing a disturbance, I'm sure they will learn how to cohabitate with others to maintain their housing and shelter status. I would love to work in a place such as the one that's described in this video. It is my passion and desire to help those in need, especially the homeless. God bless the homeless, and may God bless the developers involved in bringing this project to fruition.
yeah its a wonderful idea but if your not from boyle heights/east la then you dont understand that our community does not need more homeless send them to the west the nice areas just like they said why do they always brung them here to the east?!?!

better to have the building empty than full of thousands of criminal junkie bums, housed at tax payer expense. HELL No!
@@dave8599 then don't complain when they're camping out in the sidewalks of your neighborhood right now. People sure love whining about homeless without providing any real solutions
It's always the case ...... yes we support (insert cause), but not in my neighborhood, with the now cliched reasons ..... I will feel less safe .... it will lower my property value ..... inappropriate with a primary school down the road, etc, etc.
Boyle Heights is already a ghetto.

I say in the past thirty years selfishness all around.
How many homeless are living with YOU right now?
Nowadays street homeless and are fentanyl addicts, and not capable of doing anything no matter how simple it is. Street encampments are open air drugs markets brewing all sorts of crime. Majority of them will die from fentanyl overdose, or drugs related violence. Second hand fentanyl smoke can easily kill you in no time. Street homeless gradually destroy everything around themselves. We will never reduce street homelessness without reducing the amount of fentanyl drug available on our streets. If they can afford, they smoke fentanyl up to 100 times a day. That's how all these fires are started. Homeless advocates are mentally stuck in Pathological Altruism, and all they do is enabling fentanyl addicts remain as close as possible to their fentanyl dealers.

Great idea! Way too many homeless in SoCal
Boly heights full of gangs worst place in LA. YOUR WORRIED ABOUT HOMELESS PEOPLE IN A BUILDING ? 😂
Definitely not the worst but far from the best
Boyles Heights are known for the donut bridge 🌉 .
Dude...I'm thinking the same thing.
Put them in cages in the zoo, they can throw their poop at each other. they are animals, treat them as such. by doing so, maybe some will shape up. They must be removed from society.
Boyle Heights always been a ghetto neighborhood so close to skidrow and the twin towers jail.
this sounds like a good idea because that big building is still in good condition and the city needs to follow their plans and open that building up to help the homeless people get back on their feet ..god bless the homeless people.
The problem of money unsolves that idea VERY quickly
Well, that place can be the third jail tower for unisex since the twin towers for men and women by Boyles Heights already taken.
Nah an even better way is rounding them all up and separate them into groups. Those that accept help will get it, but those that don't or are to violent will be tied up and executed. Issue is solved in a week

House them all in liberal voters houses. They allowed this mess. I bet the city would get cleaned up real quick if that was the case.
Protests here, the homeless advocates got 33 mil to convert a hotel and theyre complaining its near a freeway. Open residential care for mentally ill and drug addicts.Help the rest get back to life.
Sorry guys. Boyle Heights is the perfect place for this. Everyone agrees. Boyle Heights residents would not be able to live in LA without government assistance so treat others as you want to be treated.

Boyle Skid Heights!!
Bus them to your house instead. The Hugh T skid row.

Why you don't take a bunch of homeless to your house?
@@dariofuentes7310 Yes. I’m a civil servant and live in Oakland. We have tons of homeless outreach centers all around. One right down the street from me. I have no problem with it bc it keeps them housed and in one place from wandering around and living directly in the streets.
Y’all better see a blessing when y’all have one. A building is better than a sidewalk and I would want that for any of my fellow human beings.
Also , my family took in foster kids all the time when we were young so taking people in that are less fortunate is part of my upbringing.

I'll take a theater and market over homeless
They should house the homeless in areas further away from the city instead of perpetuating the destruction of Latino neighborhoods. Plenty of room out in the SGV where land is cheaper and better equipped to handle the homeless
That lady meant to say she wants a buffet instead of another theatre
She probably wanted another DPSS so it easy for her to go and reapply for welfare every year.
We don’t want it, we already have a home.
Also, how do we profit? We want profit, not homeless in need.
Why can there be a market and theater in there as well? It’s huge.
Instead of seeing the “homeless” as a liability, they can actually be seen as a commodity, and they can help with community upkeep, if they have a place to gain some traction to move forward.

They should take the homeless in Beverly Hills

We have the football field on the West side that's why they won't put the homeless on the west side, money talks.
