My uncle had an 8 track of this bootleg. I had made a cassette copy on my Fostex 4 track porta studio which had a varipitch knob so I could slow it down to the proper pitch.
102.7 WNEW Fm Scott Muni I heard this back in the 80s on his Beatles show Called Ticket to Ride. RIP 🪦 Scott and NEW Fm where rock lived from. 1967 to 1997 those were the days.
Spector's compressed wall of sound may have fit the earlier 60s motown style songs and artists.. but it made absolutely NO SENSE for the warm melodic style of The Beatles
The album would have flopped without Richard Hewson's (Spector did a fantastic salvage operation as producer) arrangements. The songs on Let it Be are musically very simple. Yes there is a magic to playing three chord numbers, but no market back then for unplugged, stripped down commercial productions.
This version is from January 26, 1969. The "Get Back" L.P. version is the same performance as the single version from January 31, 1969 but lacking some overdubs found on the single.
The version here (recorded Jan 26 1969) was used on Glyn's first rough acetate cut Jan 30 1969. This was not the "Get Back" album, just rough mixes. The version on Glyn's three versions of "Get Back" (done May 2 1969, May 28 1969 and Jan 5 1970, respectively) was recorded Jan 31 1969 with a lead guitar overdub done April 30 1969. This is the same as the single version, albeit in a different mix. The version on "Let It Be" is the same version without the Apr 30 guitar overdub. Instead, the stinging lead, backing vocals, brass and orchestra were overdubed Jan 4 1970. Glyn didn't use these overdubs on his Jan 5 version of "Get Back". But, Phil Spector mixed this and extended it by repeating a verse on March 26 1970. The original Jan 31 1969 lead guitar can be heard on the Nagra reel 566A from this session. Also, faintly, as a ghost guitar (bleeding in on one of the other microphones) on the "Get Back" album and single version.
@@ChazzAvery I speak spanish, althoug i understand a little about your comment. Always i had curiosity of this version Glyn Jons, its a pretty i like this version, in the new LET IT BE from vinils of 15 october there is a different version , there is not "one two three" of McCartney yeah?
@@marguskiis7711 Completely right, Phil Spector may have been a lunatic, but was genious too and made the album a Masterwork in each respect, so even 60 years later the songs are amazing and timeless fresh sounding! The naked version of Let It Be as of Across the Universe, I Me Mine and even Long And Winding Road misses so much of the emotion and feelings like it was a mere rehearseal for the Masterpiece
Doesn’t sound like Paul at all… And the organ doesn’t sound like Billy Preston. And the drums don’t sound like Ringo. Apart from that, great Beatles track!
I expect that's because the tape is running fast. I believe they were playing in C, but because the tape is fast, it is a bit higher than C#. Everything else sounds consequently strange.
Amazing!!!! Everything sounds like the original band, without any musical arrangements
The beginning piano part is completely different than the one used on other versions.

Love this take and the mix.
i love how it sounds like the piano and voice have reverb
Very good work
Wow, this is amazing, really.

Paul's voice sounds incredible...
Yep. Single tracked and singing in the Holland Tunnel😉
Sounds terrible, actually. The track is so sped up it sounds like Paul had inhaled helium gas before the take! Sad to hear.
beautiful
On se croirait dans une égilse ! Trop beau 👍
How I wish someone would remaster this version of the song
WoW . I have heard this version on bootleg many years ago. I can not believe it.
this IS the bootleg
I remember owning this bootleg decades ago. I can't remember if the speed was messed up the way it is here.
Yes it was. I still have my copy.
Beatles top 1
I like

i never noticed before if you speed up mccarys voice it sounds like john
Légende
wow, this is incredibly scuffed but very cool
Le mur du son
paul got his version of the Album GET BACK/LET IT BE but what about John's version?
The one in 1970 was John's. And George and Ringo's. They want we that one, and didn't give Paul a choice. John got his way
@@Matthew-ve7uv Paul was obnoxious and totally self centered 1968 and 1969 and alienated himself from the other three
The better version
Beatles 2021 2022 2023 2024 ......
Will this be on the New 50th re-issue?
All-time melody - like that of Bach or Mozart.
A pity that the tape has stretched so the song is out of tune .
Im pretty sure this is the version they planned to use on the unreleased album "get back"

Sounds like John singing.
Before phil got involved
Phil Spector ruined this album. Totally good for the mid 60s motown artists.. but misguided for The Beatles... geesh
Not at all. Phil added the space, feeling etc. The Naked sounds like some Led Zeppelin stuff, soulless hammering.

@@geckozzed Thanks Mike - that makes sense! I didn’t check the key, so thanks for doing that.
As someone else has said, the tape is old and a bit stretched, therefore it wobbles a bit.
Know your voices!!! It's paul!!!
