This is one of the best comfort songs ever written. It really nails that feeling of "yeah, sometimes things suck, but keep going and you can make it better". Not overly happy, which feels so fake when you're down, but not wallowing in the misery either.

I'm in the rare category that never gets into that song. Some Beatles song I just skip. Same with "Yellow Submarine" it's really awful.
That's why Led Zeppelin will always be my favorite classic rock. Very talented instrumental musicians, and Robert Plant with a magnificent voice.

My mom used to sing this to me when I was little when I was sad. I play it when I feel down and it helps. I'm 24 now, and this song is almost as old as my parents. I just got out of a 5 year relationship and this Xmas was hard bc it was around what would've been our 5 year anniversary. Everyone tells me to move on but I can't. I was crying tonight and almost did myself in bc I can't imagine my life without my ex. I played this song, and I instantly felt conforted. I've played this other times I've felt like this too. Thank you Beatles for literally saving my life tonight.

I remember sitting in the back seat of my girlfriends parents vehicle when this song was playing on the radio. It was the first night that I had met her parents and we hit it off immediately. They took me home after a high school football game. It was in September 1968 and I was lucky enough to stay friends with Di’s family the rest of my life. Sadly, Di passed away from cancer two years ago. After her funeral, the undertaker opened the back of the hearse so I could sit next to Di’s casket. I spent about 30 minutes with her and I felt lucky to have been able to tell her how much that she had meant to me. Rest In Peace Babe.

It's incredible how every time I come back to this song I am amazed by its beauty and simplicity. That three minute fade out that essentially consists of "Naa, na, na, na na na naa" just produces this hypnotic effect, and is easy for anyone to sing along with. It creates a feeling of community. I look at three young people standing together swaying with their arms around each person's shoulders totally immersed in the song, the experience and their friendship.
