I mixed mine with cosmic blue zebra danios they are good tank mates. 3 tiger barbs, 2 green tiger barbs, 4 albino tiger barbs. 8 danios in a 37 they do great!
I had like 6 tiger barbs and noticed one of them was always in the same spot swimming for its life against the current I got worried about it. Then I learned he is just one happy fish. That's what they do when glowing on the inside then I noticed two doing it side by side. I loved the tiger barbs they are the best little fish I had. I had white std and green ones. I was told the white ones are albino but I just learned there white. But mayb were albinos. They looked awesome with my clown loach and firemouth chiclids.
Unfortunately, it's not uncommon to experience fish loss when bringing home new fish, it puts a fair amount of stress on the fish, could be that it was not acclimated slowly enough, could be the fish had an illness or parasites already. I would recommend checking your water parameters just in case, but sometimes even if we have everything perfect, we may experience losing new fish. This is why many fish stores will usually have a policy for replacing fish that were lost within the first 3 days, some up to 14 days, with a water sample.
0. Rule of thumb is 3-4 gallons per Tiger Barb. Since Tiger Barbs are a schooling fish, I recommend at least 6 absolute minimum which means 18-24 gallons. So 20 gallon tank is the minimum.
If a bigger fish ate a GloFish, would it die? If a fish bit a chunk out of a GloFish, would it 'leak' and contaminate the water. if a GloFish dies, what happens when it rots. Yeah, I don't think these 'BRANDED' fish are too good.
We have been doing them for ages with different animals like dogs and pedigrees.. they are not really hurt and I personally believe that it's ok if you as an owner take care of them properly and make sure that they're happy and thriving
@@christineaquino5555 Dogs are merely a product of selective breeding. Glofish are bred using a process called "transgene insertion" which involves splicing the fish DNA with the fluorescent-producing genomes of other living things, like sea coral or jellyfish. The good news is that in the wild, released glofish are more easily preyed upon because of their bright colors. They also don't breed very well either. So they probably won't contaminate the gene pool of their wild counterparts.
So what exactly is wrong with a genetically modified animal when done properly? They experience no discomfort or pain and it is only done to a certain amount of fish then they breed normally and pass the genes down. As long as we preserve original genes there really is no problem
If you breed a GloFish with a regular fish will the offspring glow?

Great info. Just curious, how long does the glow last? BTW- one of my favorite fish is the ruby barb in a 29 gallon planted tank. Beautiful.
the whole life of the fish.
Are you sure they are great swimmers because mine always swims down and the other is fine mine sometimes swims upside down and sideways
Love you 🥰 and great video
Thank you! 😃
Very informative
Thank you! 😃
So how does one get rid of glofish if they naturally breed or you just need to get rid of the tank?
I have a new 29 gallon tank. Should I put barbs and Tetras together? Also can I add a shark with tetras or barbs?
How many Barbs should I keep in a 15 long? Btw love the videos !
I have 4 tigers right now. All 10 plus! Lucky i guess. I have lost a few also.
GloFish Barb beautifull.. 😄
I have 4 of them but after 10 hrs one is dead.. can you explain what might be the cause?

They really are a schooling fish and do best in groups, alone they may show signs of stress.
How many barbs in a 2.6 gallon Betta tank?

That’s a first. You can’t sell your own pets. What a joke. I thought we lived in America.

Nope. From what I understand it wouldn't "contaminate" the water.
They are nothing but jelly fish DNA, they are not injected... 🤷
hi beautiful
Please don't buy any glo fish or glo fish products. Consumers unite against genetically modified breeding practices.
umm... Okay?
