I dont understand everytime people hate it to see the Doors' cover songs, and expecting more closely to Jim's voice. Jim Morrison is not born a singer actually, but he can sing. So is this guy, I think he sings well. And done a good job in presenting this performance.
Beautifully sang, what annoys me is the appearance of the singer.
I love Jim's voice but listen to that piano....fucking amazing artist blows everyone away...magnifique

@@Artsyshroom well, I've always wandering why the lead singer felt obliged to copy Jim's physical appearance and gestures, the stage behaviour. And Im not talking about that particular video, but about the majority of The Doors tribute band. If you have a Gibson guitar, you can learn to play exactly like Robby, but you can't have a voice exactly like Jim's, this is your own unique "instrument". Just look like yourself and sing it your own way, w/ your own voice and enough passion, be yourself onstage. That is the thing The Doors & Jim Morrison were all about, weren't they? For me this would be far more appropriate than all that silly wriggling around, you know.
@@454cassul9 Because it is a tribute band? They're trying to imitate the atmosphere that The Doors presented, they're trying to give you a close experience of what you'd have had/felt if you were at one of The Doors' shows.

Everybody is talking shit about the singer but you have to remember y'all are comparing him to Jim fukn Morrison. One of the greatest ever! I thought the dude did pretty good considering, he was off on a few things but overall not bad, and the pianist, he was fukn awesome. Fuhgedaboutit.
I've always wandering why don't the tribute band just get onstage & perform, why there always should have been mimicking of Jim, Ray, etc.? I'm begining to think that comparison you've mentioned is the bigger part their fault. Man, you're not Jim, just get on stage & sing it your own way, with your own voice & your own stage antics. Cause, you know, people can by a Vox Continental, Fender guitar, etc., & rehearsing a lot they can sound exactly like The Doors. And one can even change his manner of singing, but can not change his voice (well, without destroying his body, half a liter of strong spiritus on a daily basis somethimes do the trck, but its not worth 😆). So this annoyes me the most - appearance.
So what he is not Jim Morrison but at least they keep the music alive, well done.

Morrison sang VERY well, in the style that he heard growing up; Sinatra and Crosby.
One has to REALLY relax the throat and jaw and pump A LOT of air to get a Morrison-like singing tone.
This guy strains too much.
The errieness of the lyrics vs. the smooth style of Morrison's singing style, makes The Doors songs so macabre and erie. It's because of that that these songs will never be dated as many group's songs from that era; Jefferson Airplane for example, are.
He sings from the head, not the chest.

Honestly opinion ! please don't be angry ! you look both the same as Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrsison. Piano playing is extraordinary, but singing is not good enough. I subbed so maybe this is just this song what is very hard to sing and I would be glad if I could hear more songs. One is not enough to be sure. Greetings to you both

He sings fine, but it doesn't have the sound of Jim Morrison, which is strange that he'd be in a Doors tribute band with such a sound. His voice is stellar, though.
Props to vocalist for singing in another language & probably would have come off more natural for him in Dutch but then most fans around the world wouldn't understand any of it. Actually, i doubt JM would have been better had he had to sing it in Dutch but i guess we'll never know.

The pianist was great; the singer was a tenor. You really needed a baritone to do it justice. He did look good in leathers.

It's a good rendition of the Doors cover version & excellent piano playing. They shouldn't use the name of the Doors. This isn't Jim Morrison because the world knew Jim & his voice. There will be only one Jim Morrison & there won't be another group like the Doors. Because look a likes can never pull it off. Fellas you all are barking up the wrong tree.
