What a coincidence! At the beginning of June I also went on a search for books with summer in the title. I pulled 3 off of my shelves to read in the next few weeks - The Summer House by Jenny Hale, The Summer Guests by Mary Alice Monroe, and The Summer Book Club by Susan Mallery. I had so many!
Orphan maybe? I know that's a buzzword for you. I was just looking at my shelf doing the same thing after reading The Summer House by Lauren Denton. It was such a light summer read that led me down a rabbit trail. Adding some of these to my summer TBR, too. Thanks!
Also grew up in Lexington Mass , lived there many yrs. Went to H.S. in Concord (only one town in between. Was in Orchard House SO MANY TIMES I could give the tours!😁 Even after marriage. Haven't been back for 15+ yrs.😐😑
Loved two just released books I got from the library. . .Summer Fridays by Rindell (in movie terms - Devil Wears Prada + When Harry Met Sally vibes) & Jackpot Summer by Friedland (four siblings, three opt-in for Powerball ticket purchase. .what will they decide about the 4th who opted-out?) Great porch/beach/hammock/dock reads!
Three Strike Summer was a favorite of mine, along with The Summer of June and The Summer House by James Pat. all 5 star. Some I hope to get to this summer are, Summer by Edith Wharton and The Summer We Started Over by Nancy Thayer. If I have time, Summer of Brave.
Fun series! Love this idea. I read The Summer Book by Tove Jansson earlier this year and really enjoyed it. It is not a novel, it's more like vignettes and connected scenes set on an island in Finland in the mid twentieth century. It was a great read, very atmospheric. Although i read it in February. 😂
My guesses are orphan, bookshop, library, sister(s), and love. Great new series! I would also throw in The Summer of June by Jamie Sumner. A MG about a girl with anxiety.
I am thinking you stuck with summer words so I will guess beach or vacation. This is a fun idea for a series! I enjoyed hearing about your summer books. I will go preorder the Summer of Yes - that sounds really good.
The only books I could find on my shelves with the word summer in them are both by Tove Jansson: The Summer Book and Moominsummer Madness. What a fun idea for a video series. I can’t even guess at what the other category words might be but looking forward to finding out!
What an awesome content idea. I think the word with most amount of books is the word book. And other words could be fall, Mr/Ms/Mrs/Miss, library, or keep. Let me know if I’m even close. lol ❤
Orphan would be number one , possibly daughter or book/bookshop. Home, Paris, midnight, river/lake and secrets are my other guesses. This will be a fun series! I wonder how many of them I guessed correctly?
What a cool new series! You come up with some of the best ideas for your videos. I’m not sure I have the word Summer in the title of any books on my shelves currently, but last summer I read Summer by Edith Wharton. The other words that came first to mind are orphan and book💕have a great weekend.
Hi Krista! ☀️🍉🏖️ Happy First Day of Summer! I was so happy to see your video today; you bring so much joy to others! This video series is going to be very enjoyable. A middle grade book that I enjoyed in the past with the word summer in it is “Summer of June”. (The female character has anxiety.) I think that you might have several titles with books that have the word orphan (?), with your love for found family. Happy Reading! 😊📚
I only have one book on my Goodreads read shelf with summer in the title. A Midsummer Night's Scheme by Harper Kincaid (a cozy mystery). I feel like you have a lot of books on your shelf with the words orphan and library. Those are my guesses.
I have The Penderwicks and the Summer Before The War; bother unread, maybe this summer. I have read the Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott a few yrs. ago. EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! It is a purely FICTIONAL ACCOUNT, but excellent. L.M. Alcott is is absolute all time favorite author, Because of a Little Women, which read when young. I re- read it now about every 2 1/2 yrs. I also collect beautiful and vintage copis, when I can find, the vintage. Alcott wrote many other bks, there are biographies about her, as well as her personal journals. She grew up in horrible poverty due to her very lazy father. Emerson ALWAYS paid the rent for Orchardhouse. L.M.started writing to support her whole famil, 2d, because she liked wring. She was sick alot after being a Civil War nurse. They thought it mercury poison back then, but now think it Lupus. She was caring for her father in her home in Boston. He died one day, she the next. L.M. is buried in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetary in a section called Authors Ridge. Alongside Thoreau Emerson, and 2 others. Fascinating, but sad life too.
Now I can't remember how many you said you were doing, but I think the words might be Secret, Girl, Christmas, Book, Library or Librarian and Mystery. Did I put too many guesses? Oh, I can't believe I forgot Orphan but I will stick with my previous guesses.
Lauren Willig wrote a series titled “The Secret History of the Pink Carnation”. It focuses on the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars and inspired by the novel “The Scarlet Pimpernel” by Emmuksa Orczy (written in 1905). It is a dual timeline (the past and present (well give or take 10 years)). I think there is 11 books to the series. I find the series reminds me of works I have read by Susanna Kearsley. I would recommend it if you are interested in the time period and/or the author’s writing. Random note if you have never read “The Scarlet Pimpernel” I would recommend it, but there is a play version and a classic movie based on the little classic book. The word with the most books I am going to guess is sun or beaches.
“The Summer before the war” is just LOVELY 🥰 I’m guessing ORPHAN is one of your words…
Beach, sunshine, cruise, vacation, camp. Orphan is a good one, as others have pointed out. You're having fun, glad to see it.
Yay on your NetGalley. It makes me smile hearing you work towards your goal.
1. Orphans
2. Library -- librarian.
3. House
4. Family
5. Daughter
Great video Krista! Lauren Willig writes beautiful historical fiction, although I have yet to read that particular nove of hers.
Orphan is definitely the biggest stack - that’s a no brainer 😏
Well...you'll have to see!
I’m thinking words like vacation, travel, sunshine and relax. You could do with with related words for each season or holidays in the title! Fun idea!
Orphan maybe? I know that's a buzzword for you. I was just looking at my shelf doing the same thing after reading The Summer House by Lauren Denton. It was such a light summer read that led me down a rabbit trail. Adding some of these to my summer TBR, too. Thanks!
Ooooo summer in the title!!!!🎉 great video idea! I would love to try this too if I have time- if that’s ok!😊
Go for it!
War, love, light, orphan, and house are my guesses!
Also grew up in Lexington Mass , lived there many yrs. Went to H.S. in Concord (only one town in between. Was in Orchard House SO MANY TIMES I could give the tours!😁 Even after marriage. Haven't been back for 15+ yrs.😐😑
Good guess, but that's not the biggest one.
Happy summer!

Sounds like a fun one. I've never heard of it.

I'm not familiar with either of those. I can't wait to share more of these. It was fun do discover popular words on my shelves.
What an awesome content idea. I think the word with most amount of books is the word book. And other words could be fall, Mr/Ms/Mrs/Miss, library, or keep. Let me know if I’m even close. lol ❤
Two middle grades I loved were Firefly Summer and The Invincible Summer of Juniper Jones. Summer of Night is on my summer TBR but it’s a chunker!

Manatee Summer by Evan Griffith is a good middle grade book.

Orphan would be number one , possibly daughter or book/bookshop.
Home, Paris, midnight, river/lake and secrets are my other guesses.
This will be a fun series! I wonder how many of them I guessed correctly?
Great guesses! You'll have to wait and see which ones I have.

I visited Orchard House years ago. It still stands out as one of the best house tours I've ever done. So interesting.
Now I can't remember how many you said you were doing, but I think the words might be Secret, Girl, Christmas, Book, Library or Librarian and Mystery. Did I put too many guesses? Oh, I can't believe I forgot Orphan but I will stick with my previous guesses.
Some good guesses there. Stay tuned!
Krista, did you recommend The Best Summer of Our Lives by Rachel Hauck? I just finished it and it’s great!!
I have read Rachel Hauck, but not that one. Glad to hear you liked it!
Great video idea!
Thanks!

that Lauren Willig series was very good -- different! highly recommend and don't see talked about often - love the covers.
I enjoyed her pink carnation series too!
Sunshine.
Bird is the word!
Oooo I haven't checked that one, but I bet I have a couple.
I have Summer Island by Kristen Hannah and Sunmer Sisters by Judy Blume on my shelves!
I think a buzz word will be war
I thought I had Summer Island, but I guess not. Am definitely interested in that one.
I am sure one of the words is Orphan! 😊
Summer of Roses by Luanne Rice. It was published a few years ago but she is a beautiful, and poignant author.
I haven't read anything by that author. Might have to look into it.
Do a video of books with the word Orphan in the title!
I am struggling with the desire to want to read the Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott.... but so loyal to Professor Bhaer!
I am curious to read this one.
My guess is "Library". 😀
Good guess!
Runaways
Orphan!!!
😉
Orphan is my guess! 😂
I guess orphan, Christmas, library, and bookshop. I don’t have a single summer in the title book😮
"Orphan", "Life", "Fun"
Good guesses.
I think book or orphan would be a buzzword for you, but maybe vacation going on the summer theme.
I'm thinking book, war or one.
