Ahhh carcaine… it strikes when you least expect it. Like when you’re stuck at home during quarantine, cruising for deals, eating snacks… and a solid deal actually comes across your screen. So when Vin spotted this 1980 Porsche 930 SC, it was hard to say no. Especially with Scotto the enabler sitting right next to him. But did he buy a lemon? Or is this easy entry into the 911 club?

If carcaine was a real drug, Suppy would be the medic trying to save somebody while everyone else is off to the dealer again.
Lmao carcaine relapse
@Salty Stones I'll take it off your hands for $250
@Salty Stones ill buy it sight unseen for $420. you within 12 hours of chicago? lmaooo kinda dead ass tho
Suppy is next level savage. Literally opened the show with “death row back there”
I was floored with the creativity.
100%
Vinny, the man who changes his cars more often than he gets a haircut 😂👍
Just started my channel where I take stock trucks to the mountains and bag on em. I just want to make people laugh.
@@bushtruck Yeah, so go to the bushes and go fuck off you muppet
@@bushtruck ya dont fucking beg
That Fiat Hey Why Do you own a Fiat from the 1500hundreds
@@nick-andre08 bc that car is fucking dope
i love that Suppy calls out Scotto and Vin everytime. Lol
Shop project: Vin will destroy it, act like a 12 year old with zero respect, and pitch in only enough to make things exponentially worse everytime he's around
His personal project: No expenses spared, supreme vehicular respect with mad attention to detail, potential show car when done.
That was the most wild appearance of danger dan I've ever seen
Immediately after the purchase
Vinny: I'm never going to financially recover from this! 🤦♂️🤣
Vin: “it’s not registered or insured”
Scotto:” that’s never stopped us”
Uuuhhhhh... 🤭😂😂
I love how Vin can just drop a whole hobby on the drop of a hat. Wants another track car?! "Time to sell the drift car, I Just built and only tracked once!"
Yeah, i think id rather have a missle car for a drift car, i feel too bad destroying the 240. Also i prefer grip racing
@@vin_tra tell em, Steve Dave.
They are a media company so take that with a follicle of hair.
@@despizedicon it's his car and his money, so I'm sure its just his personal decision making. It's not sarcasm, I genuinely admire that he can just go from cool toy, to cool toy.
@@vin_tra Yeah you killed that car by making it way too nice hahaha. A friend of mine repainted his daily, big turbo, jdm bumpers, etc, then it was too nice to drive so he sold it lol.
One thing ive learned from owning a honda is that if its leaking oil that means it has oil so you're good 👌
Elma Cannon I like this logic lol 👍
When it stops leaking, change the filter and refil it. Boom. Oil changed.
As a bmw owner I can confirm this
@@notasmo9120 you never have to change the oil if you always have to add some tho 🤣
@@noahcohen7132 I second that motion, as a BMW owner on my 6th one, definitely can confirm this. German cars and shitty gaskets, WAP all on your garage floor.
The cheapest Porsche you buy will always be the most expense one.
yeah but they got time and it make great episodes.... and they have people for making it pretty
@The King Not even as bad as a 951 haha, I purchased an '86 951 for $12k a few years ago and I think I have over $10k worth of repairs (in parts because I do most of the work that I can), and about $10k in mods. If you want an old Porsche prepare to spend money up front or in the long run
That goes for any vehicle lol. Just saying. My $1000 Lincoln has now cost an additional $1500. My $2500 boat is now an additional $3500. You'd think I'd learn my lesson by now.
@The King I agree with that. Porsche's definitely aren't for the faint of heart. I'm only keeping mine because its going to become a time-attack car!
Not is true at all. There are tons of expensive Porsche that are total piles of garbage.
Yessssssss welcome. Did the same thing, running/driving 83 SC and decided to do coil over swap...now it is completely torn down. This is the way.
I can sense great pain to Vinny in the next coming months...
nah it'll be fine. right? right?
Vin_ tra it will be fine . It’s a Porsche what can go wrong.... no it’ll be fine. Love the car tho one of my dream cars!!
@@vin_tra yeah riiiiiiggghhht...... it will be fine
Vin_ tra no sir. Like riding a razor blade slide with alcohol soaked draws
I'm gonna say this now, 100% good idea. Vin is gonna make bank in the future 😂
for real.... its a investment.. that wont lose value
@@reggiexp69 unless people suddenly loose interest in Porsche which I don't think will ever happen 😂
@@edwarne8502 again* it kinda did happen but I am sure the year 2008 had something to do with it. I went to many McMansions with cheap porsches for sale between 2008 and 2010 with my dad lol
Except that you have no idea how much he paid for it. He could have overpaid and you have no idea.
@@VegasRT500 let's be honest it's vin so he probably stole it, scumbag 😂
This whole 621 golden format has quickly become one of my favorites on the hoonigan channel. I love most of the other stuff as well. But I love the more raw behind the scenes sort of feel that this has.
This family is so beautiful. Always been full of amazing vibes, given me lots of happiness, and reaaallly solidified my passion for cars.
You know it's a great shop when the owner knows what's wrong with the car during the test drive. Looking forward to this build!
Nothing handles like a classic 911. My dad has a ‘74 Carrera (my idea) and it is so much fun trying to figure out the rear engine handling characteristics in the canyons on 600 treadwear tires.
600 treadwear? Damn
That Fiat yea, they’re just whatever tires that came on the car but it really lowers the cars grip limits so it makes it a bit more fun while going slow
Vin bought abother car? What a surprise! 🙄😂😂 We all know it won't stay too long in his hands! 😂
hey all my project cars stay for a while. Daily drivers, always for sale haha
@@vin_tra **For a while** you said it! 😂
@@joealex65 luv em then leave em
@@vin_tra i can respect that and would guess since you do only cycle through a few cars at a time and flip them it leaves your wallet a lot less stressed when you dump money into the next project, and you can go a little crazier on the build than if you kept them all. 😂
For mechanical incline set of dudes like all of you, none are bad purchases. RWB it!
yeah RWB and LS swap it , such origina much wow
@@alexandruv847 to be fair, scotto was basically the first with an RWB car. So that was indeed very original
Vin was dropping questions and then immediately answering himself
"I don't know anything about this, but I do know all the answers to the questions I have"
Sips coffee... wonder how much vin paid vs what andrew would've paid for it. Was it close?
Wish we had cars that clean in germany. Salt really does a number on old steel
Same here, coming from your neighbors, 🇳🇱
Ah the glory of living in a city with fancy mineral/thermal springs. Salt is outright banned. (Europe as well, Slovakia)
Besides the body work, and a couple of leaking spots, this car is pretty clean. Interior is super clean and not dry and cracking. That’s a plus!
Oeh, see some great Colabs here! BBI suspension, Bisimoto exhaust etc etc
bada$$ looking forward to the build!! Will probably be finished before Scotto's Rover.
Best ads in the game! Keep giving these dudes money for not making the video cut to some high volume generic ad
Please let me say. GOTDAMN its good to have you guys back!
I acan honestly appreciate suppys commentary its funny as heck and so on point 😂
My cousins 4.3l Silverado felt a lot slower than my dad's 4.3l Astro van. Come to find out there were 3 layers of floor mats with the top one covering the rest of them so we never noticed at first. We got an extra third of peddle travel and a the rest of his power.
dump the CIS and get some PMO carbs & hedders, then work on a sporty suspension, race grade pads and hit the track. And yes, add lightness ! You will love steering with the throttle on these
My step dad had a '83 911sc convertible. ......nice score. ... his was red though!!.....I personally think that the white looks better..... cant wait to see this thing ripp!!!!
Hhahaha “Death Row” would be adope shirt w Scotto’s backlot pickins! On it
When do we get to see hert working on the 2j again 🙏🏻
Porsche’s are no joke when it comes to expense. I just backdated a 68 Porsche into a “73 rs” for a client. A long nose hood alone is $1,500 bucks. Suspension pan $350. If you’re retrofitting the fenders with turn signal frames, each frame will cost you $325 a side. Turn signal housings $189.00 a side. RS fiberglass bumpers are in the several hundreds of dollars also. These are not cheap cars to build. But so cool and the driving experience feels very unique. 👍🏼
That Porsche tech was a smart dude. Great observation!
Vin talkin so much he’s trying not to let Andrew get a word in and give him bad news 😂
Forget the Porsche I need a old ford like that in my life 👀
IMHO a a sexier car has never been made. That silhouette is the heat!
You said it already, Porsche prices are going through the roof, even if the car was a bad buy, you're still almost guaranteed to make money on it. Regardless I think it's a sick ride, can't wait to see what you do with it 👍
they "were", they have come down in the past year and a half but will maintain and then go back up again in the next few years
Stoked on this build series. Always dreamed of building my own 911
Im honestly intrigued on the coffee thing.
I usually use the single stove top cork brew but that is kinda interesting.
I just picked up a 1981 CJ5 that has been sitting for 10 year's for less than a $1,000. It also came with a extra motor.
You made a GREAT buy !!! PLEASE DO NOT TEAR IT UP !!! Without knowing the purchase price, you could put $20,000 into this & probably sell it for a decent profit. :-) That 3 liter if built right, is capable of an easy 350-380 HP @ the wheel.
Good idea
Look how the rwb ended out
It's sick
RASANT....I like that word...it is translated to FAST but with that little touch of class and eloquence...holding a glass of wine with your moustache and your fancy hat....one of our nicer German words...
Love it vinny! My favorite car has been the 1985 porsche 930 slant nose. Since I was like 8. I'm a little envious even with it only being a sc and not even a slant nose. I dig it and cant wait to see what you do with it.
Can't wait for an update on the Porsche
Last year i saw some people selling their dad 911 for under 30k. I was shocked. It was locally in northern Utah. Diesel trucks and Japanese inports are the thing around this part.
the idea of getting a cheap Porsche to make in to a track car is one of my bucket list things I have had for a while but never did I'm disabled now so it's out. but I grew up in Florida and all the Porsche's that were around either got rebuilt or scraped for parts I never had a chance to get one. but I could get a V12 from a Jaguar for 300 bucks complete go figure . this was in the late 70's, early 80's when gas was getting hard to find.
I know you'll probably get to them but those factory lines on the top of the motor looked pretty cracked, might be good to expect to just have to do most of the plastics/rubbers in the engine bay if theyre that rotted. Would recommend just an inspection of em all anyway.
Vinny congrats on the new ride it looks awesome! I look forward to seeing you fix it up
A gnose SC is my dream car. Can't wait to see what you all do with it.
Awesome lucky buy! Don’t RWB it like everyone else
Did the same thing found a rusty 260z spent way to much money on it and when I'm finished with my deployment it's getting restored dont care how much it cost it's getting done.
I’d say best idea ever 💡
DN The Smile Maker agreed!
Damn Vin really! Such a nice car! Always with the banger finds this guy. It only makes sense for you with the best track record for completing projects to do a hooniporsche. You prolly already know cis since your a vw kid, but stick a vac gauge on the car to help you with the leak, or maybe the idle air screw got loose on the throttle body. This would be a rad car to tribute the mulholland racer porsche. That car was a beast!
Ahhh thanks for the tip. I already adjusted the idle screw but the hot idle came back up. Next is to check for vac leaks. Which im sure will be a nightmare to hunt down
@@vin_tra Hot idle...in my experience vac leaks are a cold high idle with a hot normal. check for a vac leak by the idle air control valve and or check the resistance across the idle air control valve pins. They are supposed to have a certain resistance that i don't know off hand. See if you can look it up.
@@vin_tra One more thing...if you turn the idle screw and it is loose enough to turn by hand then replace the bushing/seal. That will be your vac leak if it is loose.
That's a steal for that car. The engine alone would sell for $15k easily. You really lucked out. I've gotta get an air cooled Porsche someday. Probably a 914.
Vin might just have the best fleet out of the hoonigans- E92, E36, S14, 911... Now that's a garage.
May I ask how much this set Vin back? Old 911s sell for crazy money nowadays
Hell yea Vin, that thing is a beauty. I have a soft spot on 80s Porsches, so I'm stoke to see more content on this one!
'Smokes like a sieve' 😂 stop it, i;m dyin'
quote of the week
Not a mistake! This thing is sick!
You lucked out, she is in great shape. Someone has clearly taken pretty good care of her. It must have been someones baby for quite a while looking at overall condition and the number and quality of fixes that were done (boogers aside).
Nice to see Dan
Vinny be getting all the good deals , I'm so jealous
2:22 hahaha. If I had to guess... Death Row is 65% Scotto cars, 20% Vinny cars, the rest of the cars are Herts & Dans.
Only 2 belong to Scotto. Hert has 2 there and so does Dan. Vin has zero.
Hoonigan Project Cars danggg. I’m proud of Scotto. I thought for sure the majority were going to be his.
Good find Vin. Keep up the good work guys! Looking forward to seeing what you do to it.
The gas petal rod bends its not the carpet
What a small world...quills coffee in a Hoonigan ad.
Where can you find these online? Like good ones that need some work but not way to much work?
Vins vids are my fav
I see the shutters are boarded up. Build n battle?
Congrats Vinny
Strip the paint and primer it first to know if the body is trash. Then go from there.
How much did you score it for???......renegade 4.8 LS conversion!!!!!.....that will keep you ALL busy!!!!
His S14 is beautiful... I would love to own that
Vinny, PPI is supposed to be PRE purchase inspection, not POST.
My dad used to own a 930 turbo tuned by ruf and traded it for a 10.000$ discount for a new vert E46. Guess what, it just sold again a year ago for 350k.
Scotto the first step to recovery is admittance!! Vinny taking Scotto is like two junkies going to score!
Nice pick up vin
05:30. Oooof. when you realize your birth year is in the eighties.
I was born in January of 80. Big oof
Let's see more of Scotto standing next to Danger Dan. Godzilla!!!
aka little man DAN!
Imagine it has never had wide open throttle is whole life
Congratulations on the sc! G50 swap and a hot rod 3.6l!!!! Big time outlaw feels here! 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
That will be about at least $40,000 or more to do what you are suggesting.
You need to do a Leh Keen style build.
Quilz coffee is the best! Surprised to see it on the channel!
Tuned up 930s are sicccc
The ol' PPI.. Post Purchase Inspection.
Best idea ever... pretty happy with my 87 924s
I know it's wrong, but I love early 80s 911s.
I never like videos, but this one got a thumbs up because of Dan making coffee.
the follow up video for this is going to slap, maybe literally
Hey Hoonigan!
Bro suppy is the best decision scotto has made in the hoonigan channel!
Vin: You fix it up in one day and its back on the internet
Scotto: yep.
Congratulations Vinny... My dream car right there
We need an update on the 911!
Absolutely pumped on this project, classic Porsche's are sexy as hell 😍😍😍
Yes!! More of this.. there's only two types of cars. New cars from Stuttgart and used cars from Stuttgart 👌
Yall should do $10k drag race with a 1k car with all the hoonigans
