- Kyle Gallner (Jennifer’s Body, The Cleansing Hour) and Emily Skeggs (The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Mile 22) are interviewed for Ben Stiller's Dinner in America. The film is directed by Adam Rehmeier and produced by Stiller and Ross Putman and also stars Brian Andrus, Shelby Alayne Antel, Sophie Bolen and Nick Chinlund. Stefan Pape is our interviewer.
Plot: In a dreary Midwestern suburb, aggro punk rocker Simon (Kyle Gallner, Jennifer’s Body, The Cleansing Hour) finds himself on the run again after a bout of arson and a close call with the police. A chance encounter with the spirited and socially awkward Patty (Emily Skeggs, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Mile 22) provides him a place to lay low. As the two embark on a series of misadventures, they begin to realise they have a lot more in common than they first expected…

I watched this movie twice in the same day... hahaha I never do that. I couldn't get enough of it!
The scene in the car when he reassures her that she's not retarded but is actually just punk rock - man, I cry even just thinking about it. So pure.
I'm 38 years old and I've watched this film about a dozen times, something I haven't done since I was a kid. This movie is different, this movie is special, and I'm glad other people see it that way, I'm dissappointed not more people do.

When I saw the trailer I thought it had "Welcome to the dollhouse' vibes which is a compliment loved the movie many authentic sweet & tender moments I recommend this movie.

what a GEM of a film - in every way... I love love LOVE these characters, and as they point out in this interview - Adam is a genius... And I could NOT help but to keep thinking that Patty could be the twin of Elias in Clerks 2 .... (in mannerisms and purity etc)

I thought Napleon Dynamite right away, especially the first basketball scene. Got the emotions right then and there.

Omg it took me so long to connect him to his Jennifer’s body role! I felt too seen with this movie, my partner is too honest wiith everyone and everything even when he shouldn’t and patty s ability to put up with all the shit without complaining is great

I have the flu and watched this because I saw Red Letter Media recommended it earlier today. I have to agree. Fantastic movie. Fun and thoughtful and leaves you wanting more (please don't make a sequel though; it's fine as is).

Watched the Movie last night.. omgoodness LOVED~IT. Very Buffalo 66 / Les Valseuses, both afew of my appsalute favourite Classics. Dinner in America. Best film of 2020. Highly recommended. An actual true Love Story, with all its faults, innocence and pain included.
Props to Stefan for the interviewing skills too. I always feel like I'd be lost whenever I see a talented interviewer working. I would definitely have asked about random non-important or non-relevant things, or questions that fuckup momentum or cause an "ooookayy.....moving on" type of moment haha

I watched Snack Shack and then immediately went and found this awesome movie. I love this movie. The first thing I thought was “this is kind of a punk rock Napoleon Dynamite”. If you love this, check out Snack Shack, also super cool, especially if you were a teen in the Midwest in the late 80’s, early 90’s

As a lifelong metal and hardcore guy, I have to say that Gallner couldn’t have better portrayed the character of Simon (among an equally amazing cast). Co-star Emily Skeggs was brilliant, completely ‘becoming’ Patty.
