The one dialogue that stayed with me where the mother of the house says "Arey khane ki bhi koi tarif karta hai kya?" It speaks so much..... The thankless job of being homemaker and psychology of Indian society of taking the homemaker for granted is so deeply rooted that the person who has been taken for granted not even realises something is wrong/unjust has happened with her

Watched this yesterday on OTT. No words, speechless. How can someone make such a good movie. Actually, this is not a movie, it's a CINEMA, ART. How some of the simplest of movies touch you so deeply. Send this movie to OSCARS, please. I don't know it will win or not, but will definitely get the due recognition. I am a grown ass man, and I cried like a baby yesterday, watching this. Such a good movie it is.

Title Lapaata ladies don't indicates missing ladies.. It indicates the things missing inside ladies.. As one of the lady is great cook.. One is great artist.. One is very committed to her education.. One can survive alone etc..

Tears roll down my eyes when the scene in which she says " I don't remember what is my favourite food?' women are so dedicated towards their family that at times they forget little things that brings happiness or a smile on their face and this is so common no matter whether you live in rural or urban city

This was a heartwarming film. The anguish felt by Deepak at losing his young wife, the naïveté of Phool, the resourcefulness of Jaya, the formidable manju maai are characters that you genuinely root for. I cried and smiled throughout.

What I liked the most in this interview all the senior actors are letting the new comers talk a lot about their characters and experiences. This is exactly an example all seniors should do.
Every single character played amazing role. Manju tai was my favourite and I got tears when phool was leaving her. This movie is perfect blend of comedy, drama and at the same time it delivers the message to many. Must watch.❤

Kiran Rao, you have done a PHENOMENAL job. A very well MADE film. I think the individual who portrayed Deepak, his acting was absolutely spot on ; BRILLIANT.

Watched it in Theatres and again yesterday on Netflix, and both the times I was in the awe of the movie, actors, emotions - laughing crying. Such a refreshing story, not too much on your face not too much trying to prove a point. Subtle beautiful movie.

Watched it last night and I have to admit, I was blown away by the characters, the story line and felt literally like I was hovering over a small village in India and simply watching as life happened there. Such realism. We need more movies like “Laapata Ladies”

One of the surprised element for me was composition of song by Ram Sampath with background score which brings the real feeling of India which lives in such village.
