It took 10 of the world's most popular stars and cast them in unique duets, trios and quartets to sing the greatest hits of the previous 40 years. The show went backwards in time from 1996 to 1956 choosing one song per year as it went. Each year was then introduced by iconic images of the year of the song. Robert Palmer was the epitome of first class. I loved him. Cried when he died. Anyone else here in 2022?
Im here. He and Sir Rod Stewart..2 of my faves.
Of course at the very top....leonard..i love you leonard.
💕
@@conniebreines1725 Leonard who?
@@gailhendrix7267 Leonard Cohen..he is the top..discovered him just a year or two before he died. Wrote Halleluah(sp). U can follow him from pretty young to when he passed. Sex and soul and intelligence personified. Sensuality in one human. I liked him best when he was in his 50's i think as far as looks. If you dont know him yet..watch interviews with him over the years. I love you Leonard is something women would say when they made love to him. He is the king next to Elvis.
@@conniebreines1725 yes I know who Cohen is or was. But didn’t know he discovered Robert Palmer. Thank you.
@@gailhendrix7267 hi gail. Glad you wrote. I didnt say that leonard discovered robert palmer. Sorry if it read that way. Take care
Robert Palmer - always a class act.
Robert Palmer was always a gentleman person and very good singer 😘😘
Robert Palmer was a great singer! Rest in peace!
Two LEGENDS on one stage
From a time-way back-when we had more great artists than we knew what to do with. We thought it would go on forever…
Thanks to RUclips, discovering Robert Palmer beyond Power Station. What a songwriter and voice! I liked this era of Rod Stewart and this song, which I did not know was written by Palmer. I LOVE how both Palmer and Stewart's voices blend together!
♥️
This song wasn't written by Palmer. Palmer did, however, have a version before Rod Stewart. It was originally recorded by The Persuaders. All credit to all artists involved. Epic the whole collection of them.
Song written by Jo Fortang!, Palmer made a very hard, electronic based version and got himself a hit single in many countries, including his native UK.Must say i prefer Palmers version...and played LOUD!.
Why have I never seen this before? Love love Robert Palmer ❤️
Same
Robert sounds so great!!!! And they sound amazing together!!!! Instruments are really rocking❤️❤️❤️
I love the late great Robert Palmer ❤️
❤❤❤😢
Robert Palmer blows Sir Rod out of the water on this song I could listen to Robert for hours. I love Sir Rod but what's true is true.
So cool! I love them both, but Robert Palmer wins. So much testosterone on that stage! 😍
Only room for one stallion in the paddock!
Absolutely!!
But for me..the same for Sir Rod♥️
They sound great together! ❤
Robert Palmer, what a voice...
Brilliant
Palmer changed the lyrics for this song. He was so brilliant.
Lovely stuff. Two greats.
Robert Palmer must
be a 007
He would have been an amazing 007
It’s been a privilege to see both of these outstanding rock performers live and a total tragedy that Robert Palmer was taken so young. Who gets used to losing a favourite artist?
What a class act by those 2 I also miss Robert Palmer his voice is so amazing surely do miss him❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😇
Thanks Robert Palmer, what a fantastic job you did!
Rest in powerful peace Robert Palmer 🙏❣⚘⚘🎶
Robert Palmer was a tremendous singer
2 of the MOST AMAZING LY TALENTED men in music on one stage!!! It doesn't get better than that!!! I was 4 years old & unfortunately didn't get to experience what all the people there did & all the great musicians & bands back then. What is on the radio 2day isn't music.
Thanks for posting. Brilliant
It is so good - always loved Robert Palmer.
Fucking amazing . I love both but personally, and not taking nothing away from Rod, I like Robert Palmer more
In all of Robert Palmer's live videos from this period, the musicians look like they're having an absolute blast. Palmer never called it in, and he got better with age. Such a great voice, incredibly handsome, and SEXY. He was the quintessential front man for rock.
Originally Robert Palmers 1982 song that Rod made a hit. I'm sure Robert was happy cashing those checks and this performance is awesome. Robert Palmer was an amazing singer. The timing here and letting Rod take it where it needed to go was pure professionalism and so perfect.
I have got good taste ❤🎉 I love them both❤❤🎉🎉( Robert Palmer ❤🎉🎉!!! more ❤❤❤)
Sir Rod and Robert Palmer....

Thats Stewart of course..he was knighted..#1 in my book.

first time ive seen this...two supreme artists together
Some guys have all the luck
Some guys have all the pain
Some guys get all the breaks
Some guys do nothing but complain
Alone in a crowd on a bus after working, I'm dreaming
The guy next to me has a girl in his arms, my arms are empty
How does it feel when the girl next to you says she loves you?
Seems so unfair when there's love everywhere but there's none for me
Some guys have all the luck
Some guys have all the pain
Some guys get all the breaks
Some guys do nothing but complain
Woo woo woo
Woo woo woo
Someone to take on a walk by the lake Lord, let it be me
Someone who's shy, someone who'd cry at sad movies
I know I would die if I ever found out she was foolin' me
You're just a dream, and as real as it seems, I ain't that lucky
Some guys have all the luck
Some guys have all the pain
Some guys get all the breaks
Some guys do nothing but complain
All of my friends have a ring on their finger, they have someone
Someone to care for them, it ain't fair, I got no one
The car overheated, I called up and pleaded, there's help on the way
I called you collect, you didn't accept, you had nothing to say
Some guys have all the luck
Some guys have all the pain
Some guys get all the breaks
Some guys do nothing but complain
But if you were here with me
I'd feel so happy, I could cry
You are so dear to me
I just can't let you say goodbye
Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo
Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo
Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo
Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo
Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo
Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo
Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo
❤❤

solo dos grandes como ellos pueden .magnifico duo!!!. saludos rosana desde peru -proximo Rod S. fan club
I need to update Wikipedia on this! RIP Mr. Palmer!
Love it!!!!!
They both covered this song great solo and great together as well. The original 1974 version was a bit more of a sad song.
Palmer prowling round like a panther... Stewart strutting round like a second division footballer
Great observation. I like Rod Stewart but he tries too hard, Robert Palmer doesn't need to. Mr Cool. Miss him a lot.
Yeah.... i think we are on the same page
Rod made some fine records -- 50 years ago -- but he was always a jerk. That said, the best concert I’ve ever seen was Faces at the Rainbow Theatre. I saw Robert before fame arrived at a poorly attended show in a Cincinnati club.
😂
AMAZINGLY GOOD!! Rod you are still destined to be mine.
Que emocion ver estos dos grandes artistas!!!! Muy buena cancion y robert palmer una lastima k ya no este!!!! Un caballero de la musica!!!
❤❤❤😢
Here in 2023! My first time seeing this, love them both ❤

Never did I ever think pop music would devolve into the crap we have, circa 2022. You can have Cardi B., the rap crap, etc. I'll take this instead.
pocket full of Vinnie
Wow I didn't know this stuff had even happened.
Fabuloso!!
Wow!!!!
great duet
Oh yes. Robert Palmer; classy guy
Lol I heard this for the first time... in August when we went to see Rod on tour
Roy Stewpot as my mother called you. I miss you like I miss her!
Duas grandes vozes boa música.
I’m a musician myself! I have been playing for over fifty years! I have not reached the level of Rod , and Robert ! I’m going to keep trying! I’m a guy who does nothing but complain! I’m not one of those guys who has all the luck 🍀! Damn I just broke another guitar 🎸 string!
Maestros de maestros grandes estos dos artista que sus voces i musica perdurara, seran atemporales
R.i.p Robert lost vu to soon. Miss u
still great!
I'm still miss you Robert. Thanks for cheer me up with your music.
Oh that's good music, it has more soul in it than Robert's version has. Though that one also is great. But here they give everything, and there's a great band and fabulous background singers not to forget - I think Katie Kissoon and her partner in crime (sorry, can't remember her name) were one of the best teams in the UK at that time.
This is an older song (dating from the '70s and full-on soul). Palmer's version is another song he accidentally wrote, in his own words, because he didn't realize he was re-writing a song he'd already heard, at least subconsciously.
@@FangsFirst I know I couldn't do it - I mean, the songwriting. Before you know it, you're copying some small or bigger part of something that already exists, and you're sued and everything.
❤😊
Молодцы!!!
Bob wins this battle ❤
Супер!)
