  • Not only will our slide not come in but no mobile RV techs want to come out to us in the desert at our boondocking location to fix it. Lots of hours of work and 2 days to finally get it in and braced enough to travel. We'll show you how we did it!

    Great slide videos, you two should sell them to Lippert. Love how you both work as a team. Thanks for illuminating a dark and scary subject.

      We are glad you liked our video. It was a huge learning experience that day. We are happy to say that after replacing that bearing block, our slide has worked normally!

    Wow, You guys really pulled out all the stops on this one. Literally! This is helpful at figuring out what I might do if the same happens on my 22mle. Good video and I am glad you got out safely.

    Great videos on this issue. I believe i have the exact same issue. I believe the bottom rear block is wedged. Did you have to take the track off of the side of the slide that had the jammed block or did it free up once you removed the screws holding the channel to the camper. Any extra details would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the video

      @@kathypeaceful we had to remove the rails on the side that was jammed. Be careful, as these rail systems hold the slide-out in place. We put supports under the slide to keep it from falling out on to the ground.

    I am interested in what you might do or did to help prevent this problem. Obviously the bearing block got stuck in the gear rail. Did you use Silicone dry lube on bearing block and rail to help prevent this? Did you regularly clean debris off the gear rail and block? What other lessons learned might I glean from your unfortunate experience that might help prevent this from happening on my own 22mle? What spares might have allowed you to fix this yourself in place?

      We regularly cleaned off the slide rails. We use silicone dry lube too. The plastic boot on the bearing block ended up needing to be replaced. We're not sure why the bearing block jammed up in the first place. We are now repaired (watch for a future video on our repair job). We are hoping this was an isolated fluke that never occurs again. The bearing block and gear rails are all still in good condition. Luckily we stopped the slide the moment we noticed one side jammed otherwise more damage could have occurred. We may never know the exact reason for this failure but hope it never happens again to us or anyone else.

      We feel we could have lubricated even more. We also now feel that Teflon is a better choice than silicone lube for the future.

      We've only used our mle three times so I've never considered lubing. I guess I'll add that to my list. How often do you actually lube it?

    • @rvingitup
      @rvingitup  9 месяцев назад

      Clean and lube it monthly when in use.
