I wonder if hair porosity is the issue with glycerin because i have super porous hair and always have issues with glycerin even with hold ingredients, but my sister has super low porosity and her hair loves glycerin even in high humidity.

More porous hair is definitely more affected by the weather so yes, this can explain the difference in your situation.
