Looks like you guys had a lot of fun :) This was my first black fish season :) I have won three pool fish but nothing like the money you guys won. the most I won was $80 dollars and I gave most of it to the mate on the boat :) they were great :) Where I fished, out in Portchester :) have to say I loved Tautog Fishing with a light rod and jig :)
Ive won a few things at ice fishing derbys.. probably the coolest was a gift certificate for 5 lobsters and the dude hooked me up with good size ones to
couple years ago the cod bite was hot, scotty got on the spot and market cod everywhere, mates so busy i had to gaff fish, stuck the pool winners fish and said here im not dropping it lol

I'm a little late but for someone like me a daiwa seagate and if you can find one, an ugly Stik conventional Heavy are great rig combos and should only run you about 200 even but that st croix for the jigging set up is perfect although if you want to go a bit cheaper the jigging world nexus rod is a great rod and could be a replacement for the ugly Stik rig set up if you get it in the conventional model
