    Nice seeing those grain wagons full. I have sometimes wanted to get a combine and do some grain for my own use. I plant oats but always bale it up for greenfeed.
    Thx for the video my friend. I always find them enjoyable to watch.

      @@thecamocowboyoutdoors5693it was a good year for oats for sure. lots of guys make hay out of it. there's not much of a market for it anymore. Thank you for taking the time to watch

    Good video, nobody grows oats here in my area. You gotta water jug just like what I have.

    Makes me wonder if that's the way i should harvest oats here, it looks like you get a more unified crop in the bin. Maybe i could cut it just a little green then let it sit in the windrow a few days. You're gonna have a lot of straw too lol. nice!

    • @AgWildNebraska
      @AgWildNebraska  2 месяца назад

      @@rustyoldmicrofarm4673 I read Cheerios has traces of Roundup in it. I don't know why unless they spray the oats to get it to dry down evenly. I would think my way is better than that. Maybe it's too obsolete for them. Anyway it works good. It's just another piece of equipment to have. We got 3/4 inch of rain yesterday morning so the straw got washed off. They say rained on straw is more absorbent. The waxy layer gets washed off. I don't know.

      @@AgWildNebraska My JD square baler had trouble picking up oat straw because it was so slippery. I would build up under the auger, then shove a big chunk in the bale chamber at once.

    The windrows didn't look too big going into the combine but there was a lot of oats going in the bin and a lot of straw coming out the back. I feel itchy and l wasn't there! 😊

      Well there was a couple spots where the oats didn't do too well. I think that was possibly herbicide carry over yet on a couple sandy spots but for the most part it did pretty good.
