Great pictures and funny tunes. My wife was even laughing on the first song, lol. Happy new year to you folks.
Lol. Thanks. Happy new year to you too a week late
What a beautiful road trip! Some really nice looking houses along there. Must be a lot of rich people in that area. All driving Vettes! I really enjoyed that, my friend. Take care
Thanks. Yeah this was in the black hills of South Dakota. We had done one of those old-time photo shoots and we're on our way back into town to get the pictures. Anyway, they have a big Corvette convention or rally every year in the summer and we just happen to be there at the same time. I don't remember how many we counted but around 40 or something on the way into town.
Well that was depressing 🤦♂️🤣🤣
Come on. They didn't cheer you up
Not sure ill ever hear the sound of a 2 cylinder again without that song popping in my head lol
I used to have a CD with it on. Don't know what ever happened to it but if I find it I'd let you borrow it.
I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
@@pagrainfarmer thanks, Charlie. I'm not aware of any Oliver polkas.
Nice! Happy new year!!
Thanks same to you
Love that great Plains scenery. The brand new used 4430 sure is photogenic happy new year.
Thanks. Yeah I guess I took a lot of pictures of that tractor this season. Happy new year
Good looking Tire Technicians

Ya dat's a good ol polka! Looks like you and the fam had a great year! Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year to you all. Keep it wild!

which is a tab more sought 7020 or 7520? as a kid sitting on them about new i was what the h... is this shifter deal?
@@jrnumex9286 I don't know maybe the 7520 cuz it's a little bigger
Last time I saw switchbacks like that was in the black hills and you couldn't go a couple hundred yards without seeing a cross that said why die they placed everywhere a fatality happened I was wondering how bad drivers education was then I found out everclear mixed with kool-aid and sugar was what they drank cruising around that was early to mid 90s it was cheap and was a party for a crowd holy cow I was glad to get my truck fixed and out of the hippie compound and aimed back to Kansas
This was on Norris peak road... We enjoy it there.
@AgWildNebraska I was around the Custer area southwest of Crazyhorse and Rushmore in the national park where Buffalo sleep on the road I was told almost half the fatal accidents are people flying around the switchbacks at night hitting a Buffalo or getting out of their vehicle after hitting a Buffalo and they get attacked by a big confused injured animal but the ride up creeper me out with all the crosses I was wondering what my friend got me into inviting me to his wedding in Rapid City and putting me up in Custer with his future in laws I didn't know
Its a beautiful drive for sure. More entertaining than a Chicago gun fight. 😊
You bet
My wife drove to South Dakota from PA in 2019. We saw Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial. WE spent time in Deadwood and saw Wild Bill Hickock's grave. Also toured the Black Hills and Badlands. Definitely an enjoyable trip. While in Deadwood, we drove over to Sturgis, which was a big "nothing" in my opinion. Of course, it was September and not Bike Week. I would advise most people not to waste their time in Sturgis.
@@pagrainfarmer yeah it's pretty neat. I wasn't impressed with crazyhorse. I think it was $20 to get in and anything you saw you could have seen from the highway. But that's what funds the place. We like to go on some of the hiking trails. Cathedral Spires is a good one. We went down to Custer Park to check out the buffalo and got a tour of their buffalo working corrals and chutes and whatnot. Kinda like working cattle but taller heavier corrals. Yep Sturgis is only good for 10 days a year. This was a couple weeks before Sturgis. This was just a drive from our cabin to Deadwood. Kids are too young for the gambling but the street fights are neat and we did one of those old fashion family photos. We like it much better than Colorado. That place is a rip off.
Man, same great taste in tractors hooked to feedwagons(620 with kelly ryan) and vacation spots! This past summer before haying started we ran up to SD to pick up woven tire mats then ran over to black hills to MT Rushmore, then home. We stopped at Dinkels in Norfolk on way up- somewhere near you I believe. Have a great Christmas!!
@@samjohnson5656 oh sure. I was in dinkels Friday. You guys have a merry Christmas too
@@samjohnson5656 speaking of feed wagons, my son has 3d printed some 1/64 scale Kelly Ryans. They look pretty good but we just need to get some wheels yet. Then to get one hooked up to a toy 620
@ oh man. I would buy one of those. Thats awesome.
@@samjohnson5656they look pretty good, but we're still working out a few bugs printing them, but if I ever ever get it to where I can make them without trouble, I'll hook you up

Pretty drive! Quite a bit of it looks a lot like some areas here. Quick gunfight..lol Thank you!!
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin Still cleaning the phone up lol. Yeah they put on about a half a dozen gun fights a day. I got tired of recording all their dialogue so I just caught the smoking pistols.

Beautiful dog. That's a good video dump. Doc
@@martinbenton742 thanks doc. We got him as a Christmas present for the kids two years ago in Ord.
Another season wrapped! Good looking dog.
Thanks. He likes to "help". He'd probably have been a really nice cattle dog if I'd have known how to train him decent. He doesn't do too bad as long as you don't let him get too carried away.
@ the herding instinct in Shepards is strong, we have a golden shepherd and she loves to herd everything from kids to golf carts. Oddly enough once the cows held there ground and challenged her she hid behind me 🤣

Sorry Tony. I just found your comment now. Thanks
What moisture is the corn at? Dang dry up here. Grandpa use to say, if a Cobb floats in the stock tank (23%?) crib it. Guessing they float 😂
13-14%
@@AgWildNebraska wow I’ve heard 13% ~ 18% up here and beans in the single digits
@@crazydave4455 The the first beans I combined I think were about 12 and then I hauled quite a few in at 9 percent. We haven't had a decent rain since July I think and low humidity and wind everyday just sucks the moisture out of everything. Our one shot of moisture was last night and we ended up with some fog.
You must have a lot of corn to wast. Slow the hell down. Dumb, dumb, dumb!!!!
Definitely too fast. More for the build up in the head than the 12 roll bed. The corn's brittle and breaking off easy. Slow down give the snappers time to pull it through better. And move the deflector to get corn farther back in wagon. Or maybe your tongue is a little long. Had to shorten a couple of mine
@@brandonhoad9033 that seems to be the consensus
@@brandonhoad9033 I think they're towards the end. I was going a little slower A1 or a2. I started off in B1-2 and yes that was too fast.
@@AgWildNebraska don't understand those older JD gear patterns. My 2750 is nice and simple; lo-hi w 1-4(aka5-8). Low 3 on my MF 1085 or 2-1 in my Case 1896 w the same picker and a 12 roll
That's too fast to pull that picker. Your husks are not pulling off going over the husking bed. Slow down. Picking ear corn can not be a race.
And actually it's just about right. I need a little extra husk in the ration
@@AgWildNebraskadoubt it's picking clean at that speed
@@RJ1999x Well you can see what's going up the elevator... It's about perfect for what I want it for
@@AgWildNebraska I've picked a lot of corn years ago, and the picker could never handle that speed, it's not about husking it's about getting the corn off the stalk and not butt shelling the crap out of it. It's your corn go in road gear if you want, but obviously it's not impressing anyone, by the comments being made
@@RJ1999x oh my. I guess I should try and impress you from now on.
I like that old equipment. It sure got backed up though when that chain come off. I was baling this year with a 50 year old tractor and a 40 year old baler. I didn't have many problems with it. Thx for the video Brother! Best wishes.
@@thecamocowboyoutdoors5693Yeah I'm lucky I didn't wreck something worse. Thanks for watching.
Yep run it slower. You'll have better luck picking in the morning when the dew is heavy and the stalks are tough. Open the deflector on top of the elevator to get the ears further back in the wagon.
Yep, it picks a little cleaner when stalks are a little tougher. However it's been so dang dry here and we haven't had anything close to a dew for a couple months. I grind this for creep feed and a little extra husk is alright.
The first thing i noticed was the wheels not turning on the husker bed from years of experience running one of these.
Well I suppose I shouldn't be goofing around on the phone and pay attention to what's going on.
@@AgWildNebraska lol it happens. The video makes it look like your really moving but a3 is about right I actually didn't think 4 would be too fast. Used to pick allot in 3 or 4 with a 3020.
We had several new ideas corn huskers they worked good but they all shelled on the snapping roll no matter how you adjusted it. But then we got a John Deere 300 husker that didn't shell on the snapping roll at all and but it didn't husk as clean it's not as aggressive like the new idea believe it or not that those machines were 1000 rpm on the power take off ! It had a electric switch for the side elevator loved it there is an Amish man in Lancaster county Pennsylvania who rebuilts both brands of huskers he is really big into new ideas as we all know they don't make these machines anymore parts are scarce
I think before this they had a 227 and a 237. And then I think they even had a one row mounted on the side or something. There's a couple I saw here that have the grinder attachment. We had one that had the sheller attachment that we used quite a bit.
