We had a neighbor who had one like that .. had him notill some for us one spring. The next spring, we borrowed it. Deal was, we do any repairs needed and we could use it. Might have been cheaper to buy one. We put a set of swather tires on it.. definitely helped to keep it from sinking, but when you broke through.. and yes, we buried it all a few times! Really wanted to buy it when he moved out of the state, but someone else had deeper pockets. He paid $14k for it, plus shipping from Wisconsin to Oregon.. 10 years later, it sold for just over $20k at his auction. It was a 12' with all the notill stuff and a mounted harrow. They probably set the clutch to run all the time, charging by the acre from when you pick it up, until you drop it off.. Just dump it on the ground 😂🤣😂🤣 we've all been there.. Never seen agitators in a drill before.
He didn't see the acre reading beforehand. That deal lights up when stuff starts turning. So I could have done a bunch and they'd never know. I was more worried about running seed out on the ends and running short but oh well.
The State here rents out a drill that looks very much like that one. They use it to make food plots for the deer And for sowing prairie flowers and grasses for CRP.
Good morning! I see you're getting it done. I hate renting equipment but sometimes its necessary. A lot better rate if you join the club! Take care Brother.
Usually that kind of rental equipment gets neglected on maintenance. It was 12.1 acres on the map. He charged me the full 12.1 too. Had to have that extra buck and a half. Have a good weekend
I think everyone is in agreement that those bags are a pain in the butt! Sorry for laughing so hard when you spilled the seed because l probably would've done the same thing. 😂 Hope you get a good stand everywhere besides where you spilled.
I wonder what pheasants forever charges you for repairing their equipment? Maybe you get an award at the members banquet? I’ve rented the same drill from our county FSA office. They are usually all rode hard and put away wet. Nothing a tube of grease wont fix…… and an air compressor……. And wrenches……. And swear words
Last time I rented the county soil conservation 750 drill it had the seed tubes duct taped, couple seed boots wired in the top hole and new blades mixed with old, loose bearings everywhere🤣
Did they pay for the seed cause that’s some pretty expensive seed I wish we had a small drill like that kind of ironic you’ve got those big wide. Roads are down there easy to pull. We got these narrow roads and a lot of traffic and we got that gigantic drill that our district has. We used to have a pheasants forever chapter and I would rent the Thai drill that they had. ITye was a nice small like nine or 8 foot. I always had to do a whole bunch of work for it for him and put a bunch of parts on it. You must have a pretty wealthy pheasants forever chapter. Do you guys have any pheasants? Ha ha I knew that was gonna happen when you tipped the bag up like that.
50% cost share. Yeah I don't know. I wonder if they're thinking people with little tractors can pull it then? Yeah apparently they must have money to burn cuz they got two of those drills. We do have a few pheasants not as many as we used to years ago like in the '80s. There was a lot more CRP around then. Stupid bags.

Basically the same thing

Ok, i'm done complaining about my drill now, lol
This one wasn't too bad. But 3500 acres is a lot of stuff 10' at a time.
Our Co-Op use to rent a drill. No one took care of it.
Coop equipment usually is beat. I used to work for one so I know how crap gets abused.

Yes I was showing off how good I am at opening bags and showed how dumb I am instead lol.

They'd laugh if I gave them a repair bill. He said grease when done. I did but bet most don't.
@@AgWildNebraska I’d bet if they were greased once a year they’d be lucky. The FSA drills are the same way.

This one had some of seed tubes wired on. Chains were pretty stiff. No mouse nests inside though.
Good video 👍
Thanks 👍
Well, you wanted to up the rate. That is definitely one way, lol. I had a bag that was like that but it did not open. I had to take a knife to it.
That was probably 10 bucks worth I spilled. I was just proud I got the strings to come undone the right way.

Plant corn there
I did right next to it
They’re a good drill if it hasn’t been abused 🙂. Hopefully no sericea lespedeza 😡😡🫤
Didn't see any on the list
@@AgWildNebraska It's never on the list...but last two wildlife blends we got had it in there as a contaminant :(
