Archie Perkins earning 6 in round one and finishing with 6 at the end of the season is upsetting. He really needs to step up next year.

Daylight second & then Martin. Shame on the Essendon recruitment & coaching. Can't hide behind injuries this year. Probably worse year than previous considering the injury list & soft draw. All this negative stuff about Stringer lately. Take his 42 goals out if this year & we woulda finished last. What did Menzie do, he gets contract extension, Wright, Weidman, Davey, Guelfi, Gresham, Perkins wot about them?? Backline are useless. All of them. Not 1 close to elite Backman. Bryan needs more time in ruck & Caddy promising. Duursma was most promising recruit.

@@SportsReplays yeh but he ain't got the eye of the tiger. Just like McGrath. athletic but soft as butter. Redman used to have it until he got the 5 year contract then put the cue the rack & in automatic pilot. Fake Edge.

Love your work mate. Your weekly videos are always something to look forward to particularly after a bad game and we had a few at the end. Watching the off season with great interest, and will keep an eye out as we head in to season 2025

Have to say that after watching the Hawks win over the dogs in the elimination final, it’s clear that you don’t need a team of superstars to be playing into the second round of the finals. The Hawks certainly don’t have a better list than Essendon. The difference is a hatred of losing, intense commitment, well drilled basic skills and a winning game plan, all of which Essendon lack. BTW thanks so much for your work this year Felix. I look forward to all your videos. Surprised your not working for one of the major networks 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I am on the same page. The Hawks won the flag in 2015.Their third in three years. In 2016 they lost the preliminary by the narrowest of margins.Since then Hawthorn sank all the way to the bottom. Now they are back and winning finals
In the same time frame Essendon have loitered in the group who are hoping to scrape into eighth position.
Hawthorn is a well managed football club and we are not.The first problem the Bombers need to fix is administration. We need a football department capable of creating a winning culture.Surely the club has the money to attract people who want the challenge of turning Essendon around.

Watched the Swans Giants game yesterday. The gap between them and us is significant. Scott did well with the players we have but we don’t have enough talented players to mix it with the best. We need to build the squad with star power if we are going to really compete with the best. ❤️🖤❤️🖤

Merrett comfortably our best this year, how he wasn't all-australian is beyond me.
Martin has been massively over-rated this season. Get's votes purely on disposal count regardless of the fact those disposals have been consistently abysmal, one of the leading turnover players in the league. He's clearly a front half player who has been played out of position, should never set foot in the back half again.
In any other season you'd think Harry Jones would be a certainty for most improved, however Jye Caldwell took a huge step up to be the guy who would have won that gong in any OTHER season, if not for Sam Durham who became an absolute beast, and is the clear most improved for mine.
Guelfi, Draper and Stringer the most under-rated this year. Guelfi is the only reliable small forward we have, and is the king of the 1 percenters (exc Merrett who does it all), Draper is always competing, and is one of the few players on our list who regularly takes contested marks, Does he lack polish at times? Yes, but his impact is still huge. As for Stringer, why on earth people want to let go of a 40+ goal kicking, match-winning, stoppage beast is beyond me. I didn't realise we had such a long list of players who are capable of winning a game off their own boot. It would be a huge disappointment if he's not in the red and black next year.
And now, the thing that literally nobody has been waiting for.....

I absolutely agree with you that Martin's kicking is horrific. I feel he's one of the most over rated players in the AFL and hurt us so badly with terrible crunch turn overs. However, that's not to say he has no potential to be a great player - they've just got him in the wrong part of the ground. He's a forward flanker in my view. Generally good goal sense and creative. I think he's a 30+ goal a year player if they leave him where he's best suited.

@@droquet6961I made a bet with a mate that he would be all Australian this year (until his season was ruined by injury). The guy is a freak and if he gets a proper run at a season he can be the next Nic Nat. Incredible overhead, a lovely tap ruckman, but most exciting is the way he roves the ball like another small mid. There's no other ruck in the comp like him.
