Round Twenty-Two Match Review! (Essendon v Gold Coast)
The umps was baised to Cripps dacios desver it
Earlier in the year I was listening to a 200plus episode, the boys asked Drapes about Stringer's work/passions outside of footy and the response was odd. He umm'd and argh'd, seemed a little awkward and went "aghhh, logistics". Didn't think anything of it at the time, seems weird looking back on it now.
because the winning team usually polls better ,merrit can thank his team mates for missing out he's the only gun at essendon , still hope he polls high
ITS GRAND FINAL HOLIDAY FRIDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN VICTORIA SO THERE WILL BE A BIG CROWD AT WINDY HILL
Beat me to it mate. Crow Eater wouldn't be savvy to that 😉
Making me jealous 🥲
@@everythingessendon548Gary Rohan has been delisted by the cats, we can chase him if Stringer leaves, it could be good? Also I hope he is under 30 and that could be a win, win.
There's only one medal that really matters.
The dank medal?
lol the Umpires never learn thier lesson lol
yeah the Brownlow is a joke. Its always umpires favourites.
Why bother!!😮
last year the BL had no access to the stats hence the howlers and neale winning off a crap season.
"Matt Guelfi our best small forward LOL, what a fkn joke we are Our list is genuinely awful, bottom 4 in the comp. Thanks DUDORO
4:55 The opposite of broad is bloke.
I don’t think N Daicos was as good as last year he was quite in the first half
He had some outrageous games
When we do win Brownlows they take them off us
Haven't technically won a Brownlow for almost 30 years
The question for me that I would like some thoughts on is whether Zac will finish up being captain next year. If he is such good friends with Stringer, Hind and Laverde, how might that impact both the players and coaches view of him as our leader? ❤️🖤❤️🖤
he released a statement on all of that. He denied meeting with brad scott because of stringer and laverde, and said it was a general discussion about the overall performance of all the players and his input on them as captain. And that he never did, and never would, place his mates above those more deserving.
I suggest you read the story Peter Ryan published in The Age, Merrett gave his honest assessment of the Stringer situation and other matters at the club.
The inside whisper is that Jobe Watson will poll strongly so load the boat
Won't keep it if he wins though
Neale will win. The umps love him
To be fair he is a star, he was insane in that prelim
Lachie Neale won the Brownlow last year and didn't make the All Australian side. It could be an omen for Zac!
The All-Australian selectors having a shocker
No Sean Wellman?
27 points is my prediction for the new saints million dollar star Zac Merritt.
Would be a fantastic result
The BL is a joke. But I'll be watching every second.
@@houdinistare7095 👍🤣🤣🤣
the best part is watching how awkward the players are, and the round highlights
I hate it, but I love it
Here’s to a better 2025
Hopefully!
Zac Merrett should poll well
Should be up there
Go dons
Hind and Stringer's mate must have criminal connections to get access to the votes.🤔
3 Votes - N Hind
Tex Wangeneen for Brownlow 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
💀
Lock it in
Laverde should be favourite for the Brownlow
Nik Cox
Nick Hind is ahead in the betting with the Davey twins at a short price
No chance boys. Laverde's got this
Easily top 5
Love the vids keep up the conntent
Cheers mate!
~persist with Archie becos of round one 2024~ mate you lost me @6:23
Mate, you are gonna choose Archie Roberts over Laverde?? Reid, I get (if he can stay healthy), but Archie Roberts?!?
lol laverde needs to have a long hard look back on his performance this season
That is dreadful, truly dreadful. You’ve got Reid at CHB who has hardly played any football for years. You’ve got Draper at FF, when did he ever kick 50 goals in a season??….he is NOT a starting forward! You’ve got Bryan as starting ruck who has not done anything at AFL level and even as he dominates in the reserves, is little more than a tap ruckman. Where are his possessions, stacks of marks, or resting forward goals?? And the rest of the forward line is filled with guys who don’t chase and put pressure on. Gresham is not even a particularly prolific goal kicker! One wonders what he actually does do! I do like Martin back on the wing. He IS a goal kicker and far too valuable to leave behind the ball. Thats a bottom six side right there and hard to see where the improvement and spark will come from. Dons desperately need Kako to impact immediately, and to recruit another dynamic small forward to give us the same spark that bloody Hawthorn was inspired with so well this season. Hate those bastards!
I’d be interested in the implications of the selection for example if we draft a mid, where does that put Tsatis or Hobbs in the team or a tall defender what does that say towards Lewis Hayes and Zach Reid
Sam Durham reminds me so very much of 'Daisy' Williams. His speed, eye for the ball especially off a ball up is to me exceptional. I just want Peter Wright gone but the idiots [the insidious Dodoro's influence] saw the club give him I think 5 years @$600,000 a year. If he fails again next year get rid of him. Bloke that size should be splitting packs with a one grab - which he's done but imo he is far too unreliable. BIG problem with EFC players is they are the most pampered players in the AFL. 'The Hanger' is like a 6 star hotel. We've not had sh*t in our players since Sheedy left. Strange given Scott's playing style.
Too many passengers on this train - its going no where. As for the visitors in the rooms - if they are allowed in the ground well there is no dramas - Look at other clubs first they have crooks on their boards FFS
Essendon are years away from competing in the top 8 because, of every reason. Trade Parish, absolutely... get rid of him this trade period. Essendon will need Trade capital to afford Kako. Whether Stringer likes it or not, he's still contracted for next year... so run him unless somewhere else takes him. Kako is the future. Parish is too much quantity over quality. If Parish were gone, the kids would HAVE to play. Tsatas and Hobbs every game along with Durham and Caldwell, these blokes ARE the future. Put Shiel out of the equation, trade him for capital... all he's doing is stopping a kid from maturing. Who cares if Lewis Hayes gets pushed around a bit by someone heavier? The bloke is 199 cms, has played every game in the 2nds and never missed a training session since he was drafted. He's never gonna mature while he's running round in the 2nds in front of 40 people out the back paddock somewhere, while our undersized back 6 are getting carved up every week... which they are. I see no difference between Hayes being lightly framed and Dustin Fletcher when he was still at school. Employ a retired "hands on" Bowen Therapist to keep Zac Reid on the park, Reid needs guidance from someone who understands the workings of the muscle structure of a human being's lower back. Only a Bowen therapist who knows his shit can help a bloke like Zac Reid. Until then, Reid will always be a dead man walking... brutal though accurate. Employ Barry Hall and Dean Solomon as your Key position coaches, these blokes KNOW what's required to win. I know for sure that Barry Hall wouldn't say "no" to the money. Essendon need to stop "fucking around" thinking the entire concept of playing in the AFL is just something to do on the weekend "playing with me mates." Matty Lloyd has been saying for years that Essendon lack the killer instinct, this in itself... is the root of the entire problem that Essendon now faces (and into the forseeable future.) Nothing will change unless it's forced, nothing will move unless it's pushed. If you want something to happen, you gotta make it happen. Why has Matty Lloyd been saying all this? Because he learnt it from Kevin Sheedy. Peter Wright? Peter Wright on the lead within range is one of the most effective pack grabbers in the entire league, find someone to kick the ball to him... then you'll see goals. If Wright is delievered the ball within 58 metres of goal anywhere within that arc, you'll have points... yes. Just kick the ball to him. Bring in some hard arse people who don't like being pushed around (Hall and Solomon are the perfect examples of who Essendon need to listen to) only then will some positive results be seen.
Every point a good one here. Everything EFC do smacks of the same old shit that doesn’t work. Get different guys in to coach. I thought Carey wouldve been a great forward coach. Who cares if he’s been a total knob, the guy is one of the GOAT forwards. Get aggressive on trade. You’re right, Parish and Shiel have no place in the next premiership side. Atleast Parish is worth something. Challenge McGrath and Redman to be better. These lazy buggers could be AA if they put in as much as Merrett. After four or five years in the system, challenge Perkins, Reid and Cox to actually be the deserved top ten picks, cos right now they look like a bust!
I agree with most of what you said but not re Tsatsas ( too light and not a great kick) & Hobbs who appears to have lost a yard of pace. I Woolf be absolutely ruthless and trade them together with Cox for some decent picks in what seems quite a good draft.
@GraemeBlore Thanks for your thoughts Graeme, after waiting now more than 20 years for a result... surely we could allow the kids to mature. Not every kid is a bloody Daicos mate, the more we run the kids... the sooner they'll mature. Give em time mate, though it's gotta be out with the old... in two years from now, Zac Will most definitely be on that list.
@@RoBot9491 Gday mate, thanks for your comment... you sound like me! Carey? Granted that Carey had the ruthlessness, he's too unsettled after the siren... you couldn't have his mouth (or his eyes) around the playing list or their families of the current list. There's too much eye fodder, I'll leave all that for you to analyze. Barry Hall is much more settled at home, he's your ticket. Your thoughts on Red Dog are accurate, though the worst thing that's happened to him was signing that long term contract. Long term contracts are the ruination of many good players. Remember Tim Kelly when he played for Geelong? Mate, he was ruthless every week... played his arse off every time he ran on because he didn't have the contract he wanted. Then the Eagles paid an entire suburb for him (he got what he wanted for the benefit of his Mrs who was really struggling, this is well documented) now he's an average player and nothing more. What happened to Red Dog bangin in them 60 metre bombs from a couple years ago? All that's gone from his game, he thinks he doesn't need to anymore... because of that stupid bloody contract he's got. If I'm being harsh on Red Dog here, then sack the bastard who told him to stop doing it. Remember, people pay good dollars to go to the footy to watch blokes like Red Dog slot a 60 bomb... this in itself is entertainment. Isn't that why these blokes are paid what they're paid? Just let the machine do the work, I guarantee you right here right now that Kevin Sheedy would NEVER have told Scotty Lucas to stop launching from outside the arc. What's happened to Red Dog? You figure it out, it's all written here. I've said this previously... The lengendary Eddie Betts played the final four years of his career on one year deals, I say again... if it's good enough for Eddie Betts then it's good enough for everyone else to be "kept hungry." (Jake Stringer, I hope you're reading this.) If they're consistent, if they turn up fit and ready to run... they'll be rewarded. But if they're handed a stupid bloody six year deal, all the "fear of being turfed out with the other 499 blokes who miss the cut" for the one spot is lost. McGrath? The worst No. 1 draft pick ever. I've had 500 different blokes 500 times say the same thing: Bombers shoulda took McCluggage. McGrath will never be anything more than average, HE is the classic example of lack of ruthlessness... he's too soft. He's just too nice a bloke to be playing a brutal game like this.
Pretty sure during the roaming Brian segment after the 1point Fremantle win is the issue. I remember Stringer not being keen to be on camera. And Hind looked yo be buzzing for more reasons than one.
Tsatas to come on strong next year..
Durham over Parish on the ground. Gresham not in the best 23 by a country mile when you have Saad to come in.
Cox can rotate with Langford and draper in the forward line to make up some of stringers goals. He only went forward a few times and kicked bags.
WHY SAM DURHAM ON THE BENCH I THINK THATS WRONG
I would like Martin half forward
Yes, permanently.
Probably wont happen he might get thrown onto the wing if saad comes into the 1s next year, either that or saad will get thrown onto the wing who knows
Who plays Goldstein half the year without Bryan coming in if it's about a rebuild
It's the media trying to destroy the Essendon football club. Never made accountable for lies they put out.
Only James hird can undo the Voodoo
That’s why we struggle the team has one star in it
Don’t believe everything you read in the media is all I’m saying. Stringer & Hind are mates as their dads played together at Talbot. Media build up.
Thing is when Essendon plays with heart and not stars in their eyes they are unstoppable, no playing for votes instead playing for the team. Mic Drop.
fr
Duz is definitely best 18 so swap him with Parish. Other than that not a bad assessment. Stringer because of his situation is a big if.
Durham looks like our next captain. Plays hard with his heart on his sleeve, just like the last 4 or 5 captains.
Very quick gloss over Durham mate? He would be one of my first chosen, and would certainly be starting before Parish, and Guelfi and Gresham for the flank. No Wright, tick, no Draper, tick. Two first round draft picks, that can't make THIS list, (Hobbs, bench but has struggled and Tsatas) poor Rosa as a hell of a job, re-balancing this list.
do you think magrath goes back into the midfield as a tagger and shiel goes back this means when there is some one like henney instead of caldwell going to them in the stoppage and trying to follow him back Magrath does that and i think shiel would be a good 1v1 player and clearer would also add another element to our defence
