it's easy to be a Monday expert after the fact but when you're sitting in the hot seat with all the talk and rumours swirling around at the time the trade team made their best call in the end we got the player we wanted plus extra picks this year and next
Yep, and especially without being able to plan for this scenario last year. NGA rules only changed halfway through this season, meaning all the work on Kako and his bid matching was done recently.
For the life of me I cannot understand the people who think the pick 9 swap was a poor decision. We started the year with a mid range first round pick and a second round pick Currently we have a mid first round player, an extra future first pick, three second round picks and a third round pick.
I by no means think the club is being run well, but the decision to trade pick 9 was a great idea and has put us in a better position as a club. I think some are just frustrated with the club as a whole and want more reasons to criticise the way it is run, but this move was simply smart and necessary business from Rosa.
@@everythingessendon548 Like Mick Ablett, who didn't seem to realise that pick 16 comes before pick 17. He twice brought up WC's trade with Port as an FU to Freo, because it allowed Port to jump ahead and take a player Freo were keen on. Problem is Ports pick was already ahead of Freos anyway.

@@everythingessendon548 perhaps, but reportedly north were trying to get back into the draft for every pick since pick 8.
