I set up a nest box earlier this year and was overjoyed to see a couple of bluebirds move in and raise 4 nestlings. Now the whole family visits my water bath usually every day. They are definitely my favorite birds.
I have blue birds nesting in a birdhouse I bought 5 years ago. They’re in it now 😊 all year round love it
Amazing I work at a bird seed store and this is the question I get asked the most. Now I know what to tell people
Awesome! Excited to see more in our yard this summer!
I wish we had bluebirds in Nova Scotia... send some up! Thanks for the excellent demo, Terry!
you have eastern blue birds in Nova Scotia during the breeding season. Have you not been looking?
I love your information to help wildlife!
Wow!!
THANK YOU
Thank u🙏🏾❤️
Thank you so much for all that valuable info. Do they show up only in the spring. I live in the Sierras near Yosemite and we get in the low thirties. Shall lo wait till spring to put up houses and food till then.
Thank you,
Mart
I have lye bird all around my yard. But in the last month they have seemed to went away. The only change is a pair of fly catchers have move in the back yard.
you are so cute! you have given me the "desire" to do more.....
Please put companies you do business with so I may order too..... thanks
March 7 and blue birds only in the south, I guess. I am in Canada. these guys won't be nesting until close to May.
Thanks for the info. Last year I put up a bluebird house in an attempt to attract them , but instead house sparrows kept trying to nest in it. I removed the nesting everytime and finally gave up and just closed it off. To tell you the truth cant say that Ive ever seen a blue bird in my area , so maybe its all for naught.
Should the nest box be totally cleaned out before the next brood?
YES...I believe it should be. 🙂
Do you sell bluebird houses.
will putting their food right near their box, draw other birds to their box?
I wouldn’t put food near any bird box or house. It will attract other predators
Where does one buy live mealworms?
Chewy is a good place to get live mealworms online. I've got a link to them on my website here: bluebirdlandlord.com/recommended-tools
Sparrows only allow ours 1 nest
Not sure you will see this since it was posted years ago. Can you feed the birds close to there nest ? I have a pair who just moved into my yard. I can get mill worms easily here at trader supply. So my question is how close should I put the food. To the nest
People who post to RUclips should remember that people AROUND THE WORLD watch! So stating LOCATION & SEASON can really be helpful to understanding the information be offered. Habitat, local Species & Environmental conditions MATTER.
I hate those nuisance birds. Let them live in a Cavity and not my front entryway.
You hate bluebirds???
@@uhill74 yep. Hard headed birds that won't stay off my front porch and crap all over it.
@@chrisramsey3603 you are confused with something else
@@uhill74 eastern bluebirds. Very territorial and not scared of anything. Almost impossible to get rid of.
