They are sweet. And very assertive birds. I've had these nest in my box the past two years. It's fun watching the babies grow up with the web camera.

In Vermont, not far from Burlington and Lake Champlain.....an extraordinary summer/fall for BBs here. Had maybe seen two in 10 years but late summer we started seeing a small flock of 6 to 8 stop by the trees and front lawn every sunny day. I was amazed by this and they kept that pattern up until first week of October.
That's cool. I've been seeing small flocks of Pine Siskin this Fall in North Carolina.
Love this Video! Set up new box @ rental and have 5 eggs in it. Unfortunately leaving rental in 10 days - don’t think I can take the bird house I set up with me!!! Lol But have had a blast watching them. BB’s Still have 6-8 days gestation period left. But I let the owners know who have 3 boys and they are excited to watch!!!! Thanks for great videos and share. I also get to watch Cooper’s hawk nest just 100 feet away in trees. Backyard bird blessed!!!

The pair near me refuse to eat dried mealworms. The like the live worms in spring, summer and fall and peanut chips and barkbutter in winter. Nice video.
Thank you! They can't feed dried mealworms to their babies because the babies food is their only source of water.

They change colors as a fledgling. But once adults they stay the same. Males are more blue than females.
