Drakengard 1 INTRO
Played on pcsx2
Never played through the Drakengard series, but when I did it got me interested a lot in the story. Aside from the repetitive (BORING) gameplay with poorly combat, it's worth to play through the game just for it's amazing story.
Issues:
Using magic cause lines on the screen for a moment, but that doesn't matter.

I FUCKING CALLED IT. THAT'S WHY I'M HERE.
Let's hope they remake this game aswell... Sometime.... Probably........ I hope?
...holy shit the music even sounds like it
This song and game is what made me conquer my fear of flying and helped me get my pilot license. Weird I know.
I can only imagine how badass it must feel to play growing wings while actually flying. Kudos to u
Proud of you homie
So it was you who shot the mysterious flying dragon down?!
“We want the Berserk audience.”

the first half is so bait lmao, the second half I can get behind tho, but I wish the game played as epic as it appears lol
drakengard 10/10
it's better than this, this intro Is generic
Still my favorite game of all time. I would literally cry if they were to remake it 😭
It is was a lesson in a game when games were supposed to eat time. It was hard but well worth the fight, which is, well...
Omg! I actually loved this game when i was 6-8 years old!!! Because i enjoyed the dragon gameplay But ground is Boring af The Story is really cool and @%#$ed up at the same Time Omg thank you for playing this! I was honestly about to ask you to play this:D Btw I loved the openings so much!!!
I played this a few months ago. I was playing Nier and there was a part where he googled Project Gestalt, found out about Drakengard, and asked me to play it.
+BuffMaister I never even played Nier Or Drakengard 3 It's really amazing there both a canon to another! I hear reallygood things about Nier Weiss you dumbass opening was the best:D
Most people probably played Nier and didn't know about Drakengard. Too underrated.
+Lordmage30ish Wait, you were _six_ when you played this? Holy fuck. Now I'm wondering what kind of childhood you had after playing this.
Gigachad childhood here
Beautiful intro.
been awhile since I've touched this.
Drakengard PogChamp
Nice...is this the prequel to Nier/ Nier:automata?
Sorta yes/no, In Nier there is a part during the ending where Devola and Popala talk about Project Gestalt and if you look into that it says things about Drakengard. Even tho I did play through all the 3 Drakengard series I did NOT see any connection between Nier and Drakengard. Maybe Nier Automata will explain more.
Nier only occurs because of Ending 5 in Drakengard. Angelus' body creates magic while the final boss they fought created the disease in Nier. Ever game in the Drakengard/Nier universe has some connection to Drakengard 1
except Drakengard 2
Soooooort of right. See, while DG2 is MEANT to tie in with Ending A, the game's plot contradicts that route (e.g. Seere acts as if he knows Caim, despite you never meeting him in Route A), to the point where it was retconned into taking place in a timeline SIMILAR TO A, but slightly different.
yes and no, there are many drakengard games. the niers games and all the othe drakengards games are based of each one of the multiples endings of each games.
What if the reason "Drakengard 1 and 3" has multiple branches is because "Nier" is actually the present day of this universe, while "Drakengard" and its novellas are the player's attempts at piercing into the past, only to see bits and pieces mixed together into a forcefully constructed narrative ?
That said, I think I have a timeline that explains how "Drakengard" and "Nier aren't set on different Earths, but on the same one, simply in different continents and time periods.
It all starts with the Cathedral city being transferred from Earth's future into medieval Europe during the alien invasion we learn of in "Automata", forever changing the final outcome of humans, dragons and all the other species that inhabited our world.
Us humans were meant to hunt down and destroy all magic on Earth, thus becoming the dominant species and being abandoned by God and Its angels when the 👽 invaded us. But the city got transferred into Europe during that invasion, probably in an attempt to save our species from extinction by preparing us for what was to come, introducing our science MUCH earlier and having humans in what would become the Imperial part of Europe/Midgard evolve at a rather fast but corrupting speed, leading God to decide that Mankind's time had come. If genocide or corruption were the only options with humans in charge, then a flower would rebuild life through self fertilization, using the decay for the proccess and replacing it with something that offered a better smell than humanity's.
Unfortunately for the divine beings, Caim, Angelus, the dragons and everyone else would keep Furiae from achieving this goal, thus forcing the babies to come down, using Furiae's clones to form their mother/pathway. But even then, they would not be successful, because Seere would freeze everyone in Midgard so the insanity could not spread through out the globe. But before he could freeze the Mother, the monstrosity, realizing what was about to happen, would cut herself off from the womb and escape into the distant future, in a place far away from the frozen Midgard/Europe, when humanity's corruption reached its peak. This place was the Cathedral city, when it was still known as Tokyo. Angelus and Caim gave chase before they too could be frozen, and although they did keep the beast from rampaging, in the end, their battle would seal humanity's fate.
So, conclusion:
-Europe is a weird arc floating in the still waters of time, locked on an apocalyptic picture with an innocent child sleeping at the heart of everything, keeping humanity from reaching the world we know today, but probably keeping magic from going extinct, as I suspect it was the Europeans who began promoting the genocide of all magical creatures once the age of Discoveries began;
-Asia still managed to develop, probably 50/50 the same (not sure if any country would be interested in initiating the Discoveries though), until the arrival of Caim, Angelus and the Mother Watcher, beginning the disease that would wipe out the remaining areas of the globe before the alien invasion;
-The only humans and magic left are the Europeans and probably part of the Africans, all preserved like insects on crimson and black amber. If the androids or the machines will ever wake them up or try to prevent this timeline of events from happening however, is unknown. Earth is already on a delicate state. It could be unwise to do something radical now, though I suspect they will simply make sure the cycle starts anew in their attempts.

The intro is misleading. Makes it look like a very average rpg, which this is certainly not.
I disagree since it's not always common for an average rpg to have a protagonist like this. Most of the intro gives of this unsettling vibe for me except for probably when it introduces Arioch. You think she might be a normal character but isn't.
@@XenomBeanz I agree with you. Specially on how Caim behaves you can see he's not supposed to be the typical "I must hunt some rabbits before I proceed" protagonist. Instead, he kills with skill and a joyful smile. Aaand he has a fucking dragon
It is misleading it makes it look like caim and Angelus are the bad guys
