A photo book from the years you’ve known each other before pregnancy… then for later one of the year of pregnancy, each year of the baby’s life, etc. Photobooks make for great, meaningful and personal gifts ✨
Thank heavens for small miracles and meeting A good samaritian who helped Louis so much and even brought him over to the places and areas to obtain all the spare parts and tools which was really needed.
Love your adventures. A bit of poor planning and preparation, surely spice up the adventure and provide great content. Can't help think of JP's attention to detail on you around the world trip. This is way more casual Louis style road trip, and I really hope you get there for Christmas.
Day 1 I knew Louis was going to bring us back to our roots of living the adventure 😂. Mark the man, the myth , the LEGEND!!! Thanks for helping our Louis 🫱
You could get Raya a really pretty traditional hand made Native American baby wrap/sling from New Mexico/Arizona!! Or a pretty printed wrap dress or kimono type for postpartum! Santa Fe, NM has some amazing shops for hand made pottery, you could get something for your new house- or a cool baby toy. We got some beautiful hand made pottery bird shaped wind chimes one time.
Mark is the dude! My mom lives in a RV in a little park in western Montana and she tells me stories all the time about people in her park helping her out with stuff like this a lot. It seems like RV park people are a lot more community based than people think.
I find it funny, you were in the town where Ben's Kombi (the new one from KombiLife) came from and where he spent a whole 3 months fixing it up enough to get out
I am a full time RVer. You will find a lot of help if you hop across the country using camp sites. However, your batteries will discharge faster in cold.
You can cook the pasta in the skillet with a low amount of water it just takes a little bit longer, so if you're doing a water saute or trying to steam and simmer your vegetables just put a handful of pasta in with that 🙂💜
Try to find a really cool and unique journal. Or two. One for wishes for the baby. And write it in during the trip and then conitue once back together. And one for new chapters and beginnings and you guys can write notes in it back and forth to each other. :)
What about using your wedding photos to create something, a cosy blanket or mugs to drink from or a pamper hamper and a photo bauble for your first Christmas as a married couple!
I'm absolutely loving these vlogs of you going across America 🇺🇸 just a classic Louis video where near enough everything goes wrong but yiu don't let it phase you. Love it. Always have and always will
For a great gift. I’d write down in a journal to Raya all the reasons you are looking forward to being a parent with her. Maybe if you can find a flower or plant etc from somewhere you are to press into the book. She will love it forever and will melt her heart.
My family of four just completed a Portland to Phoenix drive last November in our Model X (230 mile range). It was quite similar to your adventure. About every 150 miles, we'd be looking for the nearest charger (my wife hated the range anxiety and insisted on looking at around 30 miles remaining). Once thing nice about the Tesla is they tell you ahead of time if the chargers are working, and even if someone is already using it!
Always an adventure guy. It's in your DNA. I am so enjoying this series. On the gift side of life. Be sure to give Raya a thank you gift card or so. This year is the year she said "yes" to you also it's the year you guys got marry. More so a baby on board. So let her have all the thanks for Christmas.
This is such a good series, thank you so much Louis!!!!!!! I'm driving a Tesla Model S as a daily driver and a Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo RV in our holidays and you combine the best of these two worlds. I'm so excited to see the next day of your awsome yourney. Best wishes from the Netherlands and I hope you will have less range anxiety!
Louis my son and I love watching your adventures and this is one of the best! Alf so excited to see you with Prime and that you know the people who make it! It’s impossible to get hold of here in the uk! We are routing for you driving home for Christmas!! X
Good to see you back on adventure... feeling nostalgic whule watching you do this kinda stuff again..👍excited to see more of these further episode.👍👍keep going mate..
For Raya I would say maybe a nice local jewellery (ring or bracelet) as her baby push present 🎁 and christmas gift. Something she could wear and remember your journey ✨️
Following your journey.. no faith in Tesla or Google GPS but hoping and praying for your safe and timely arrival to be with your family on a day that is special to many. Yay Mark.. beautiful soul.. so many beautiful souls left on this questionable continent. Hope you rest your own beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤️
Great video, and glad you got a toolkit.... totally needed in the old volkswagens, believe me I know. Get Raiya a self care kit (facials creams, moisturizer, bath salts, etc...) usually goes over well. Can't wait for episode #4. (I totally love it when you show us the town you are touring too, by the way.) ✌
Hey Louis, I’m not sure if you’ve figured this out yet, but your charging issue at campsites might have to do with the 120v adapter that came with your Tesla charger. They make alternate adapters that can handle the extra amps and 240v that the campsites can put out. It’s one heck of a trip you’re on!
it's not as difficult in a bought EV especially Tesla as the car plans the route for you and knows how much range you have left until the next charger. Also, most new EV's have an over 250-mile range and have DC rapid charging so would be full in about 1 hour, this VW doesn't have that.
I'm not convinced he's made the VW less reliable than it was originally.... You always needed a toolkit - and a helping of luck - to make any long trip in one of those buses.
@@johnmckay1423 from the ice vehicle VW buses I've seen RUclips travellers use, they are terrible for reliability especially the engines!😬 - I like the design but they are just a deathtrap in a front end collision 🙄
Louis it looks like you will be coming through Fort Worth. If you are on I-20 there are tons of charging stations at The Hulen Mall right off of I-20 at the Hulen Street exit. They are seldom in use. Also if you need anything while you are here give me a shout I know lots of people in different trades!
Gift ideas for Raya: Jewelry! Raya's birthstone, yours and (possibly) future baby's birthstone on a necklace or bracelet. Stay safe and enjoy your journey.
Find a stone shop and get her a beautiful stone bracelet with matching earrings. There are so many kinds of business going thru the country find something unusual. It she will love what ever u get, she will just be thrilled to see u.
Love the adventure you are doing to met up with your family! I hope to travel all over as well. One day I will but I’m working hard to make RUclips my career as well
Lewis, I plan to convert my VW bus as well, It's good to see the reality of it all but really the adventure is probably the most appealing aspect of it all. It would be great if you could have done it all on Solar. Maybe we will give it a shot as well. Its good to see folks who are willing to help you out.
I do like electric vehicle conversions but if you have someone do it for you its costs a lot😬 - and if you watch his previous videos of him doing the conversion himself, it wasn't very easy at all! 🙄
@@markreed9853 I did and Lewis was learning so much at the same time. I know even the best fabricators can have difficulties. That's what makes that experience so great. I've always learned through trial and I'll be glad when I can finally get started. I'll probably even add that series to my channel as I go.
@@theclintified Sounds awesome. I'd just recommend research on what's needed and feedback from others who've done it so you don't have to U turn from dead ends and then redo things. Perhaps you can even find a way to do a build that will take level three charging. 150 mile range and level three would make 400 mile days pretty casual. Best of luck.
I feel like there's gotta be enough room for 2 tesla batteries on that bus. Also putting a few solar panels on the roof and somehow a generator hooked up to help extend your battery life
If I were you, I’d run a propane stove at least as back up. I get there’s probably a desire for being all electric, but a contingency plan is always nice.
There's an app called van alert which is mostly for VW owners where people let you park overnight in their driveway and where you can connect with VW people if you need help.
Put your pasta in after the frying stage and boil with your tomato sauce till cooked. BTW I will never buy an EV to tour in Australia as most parts you struggle to get diesel. Safe journey
Hopefully you won’t need to climb the hill before Flagstaff on the I17 northbound. Might make sense to travel southeast through Tucson and then into New Mexico. I’m in Scottsdale if you need any assistance.
Ah I wish I knew you were coming through Phoenix!! That is what I get for not seeing these vids sooner ha ha. I would have said get a scorpion lollipop as a gift 🤣 SAFE TRAVELS!
Random comment here, but I love watching you "guess" what you're supposed to do with kale… "Are you supposed to chop kale?" So Louis. You're doing great
it was so stressful at firs specially that we imagine ourselvse instead of you and its really tough situation but brovo! you do it👏🫶 keep gooing tesla van!✌️
Love following your adventure, Louis. We in SoCal will miss having you near. Just a thought, might it be a good idea to have a spare 12-volt battery? Safe journey!
Hi Louis, gift idea for Raya. A relaxing mummy to be spa day for you both to enjoy. Memories over possessions always ❤
Oh my goodness we are watching on the edge of our seats each day of this journey! So kind of the people to help you! ~Cara 😊
thanks for watching! yeah its so nice to see how many people are offering me help! ☺
So glad to see good people still helping each other.

It’s like old school fun for Louis vids

You can cook pasta risotto style in the pan. As someone mentioned, a good piece of art is a great idea as you’re traveling through places.

For Raya, how about a nice metal reusable water bottle, then as you travel along the way to her pick up stickers and decorate :)
Put your inductive pan under the one that does work, this way it will work
You could stand that aluminium pan in the frying pan. That won't be super efficient but it will do until you get an induction friendly pan.

You can buy induction converter plates. I think these heat up and your normal pans go on top. Somewhere should be selling these in America.
Drive max 100km recharge sleep next 100 etc … from my experience battery always charges faster when not charging form completely empty
Finally you stopped for charging with some margin on your battery. That saved me plenty of stress 😅

Love it. Always love watching your videos because you always supported smaller creators.
Louis, next time the suction cup holder gets gunky simply wash it with soap and water, pat dry, and it's sticky again. Safe travels!
