it is something to brag about and is a unique experience. Besides USA, Canada, and UK, every other country is majority one race with no diversity. Most of them will never meet in person someone different than them
Since in Korea 99% of the population is Korean, dating someone from a different ethnicity is very rare. It makes people want to brag about it because it's a unique thing they have going. This is great. Korean people are so kind and understanding. I think South Korea and the US are like one. All Americans I know have Korean friends and Love Korea and everyone loves Korean dramas and most people love historical shows such as Jumong.
Depends on which generation. Older generations are much more conservative and have more closed-minded views that aren’t really accepting of new ideas or beliefs. On the other hand, middle and younger generations are much more accepting of new views and ideas, such as Korean girls have foreigner boyfriends, and vice versa for Korean boys with foreigner girls, and even more accepting view of LGBTQIA+ 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️⚧, despite the Korean government being pretty shitty towards homosexuals and same-sex love rights in general. I hope that as time goes on, the old, conservative members of the Korean government can be replaced with more accepting, youthful, and love-giving people who will allow for better treatment of LGBTQIA+ citizens, ban discrimination against LGBTQIA+ 🏳️🌈, legalize same-sex marriage in the country, and overall make Korean society better.

A study was done a few years ago in South Korea. Koreans were asked who they would prefer as a neighbor if it could not be another Korean. Overwhelmingly they chose white Europeans or North Americans. What's interesting is that they preferred those two groups even over having a neighbor that was Asian, but not Korean. The group they said they would least prefer as a neighbor were blacks from any country.

Blonde hair and ,ight eyes are less than 2% of population. Very much worth preserving them and it’s quite beautiful no matter the bs on them being a majority…,far from it.
Born in S Korea in 1994, migrated to US 2000. Grew up in Cali basically my whole life. I have a Hispanic/Russian wife. Parents were very accepting of my wife simply(only son). My mom was very accepting initially because of how beautiful/pretty my wife is. That gave my mom ammunition to brag with her friends. "My son's wife is not korean, but she is very beautiful" As long as you are physically attractive... the Koreans from my experience will at least try to give you benefit of doubt. If my sister were to bring home a black boy or hispanic boy... that man would really have to prove himself to my mom specifically. Unless he a MD or some big company CEO.
A large portion of the comment section seems to find it awkward, surprising or even annoying that by "American" they mean a white person. I think this happens for two reasons. First reason is obviously because white people are the majority in America, plus the parents are older and when they were young, white people were an even larger majority. As a second reason, i estimate that it is so because if they dated a black American, they would have specified it. They would have most likely said "I am dating a black person" or "i am dating a black American". This is what happens in racially homogenous countries.
Yepp..even as a Singaporean that has so may races in one tiny country? There's still that impression that people in America,Britain ,Australia are Caucasians. This is extremely prevalent and there is even a phrase'Ang Moh' literally translating to red person kind of in hokkien . Even when I know that there are other race, I do not think of say, an Asian American when. I think of America. So yea.. i get it
I see that it was not your intention but it is a bit misleading when you say "white people are the majority in America" since white people make just a bit more than 50% of America. Probably it would be more clear if you said "white people are the majority in USA". What you said is true, here where I live people would rarely specify anything at first, they would only say "I'm dating someone", because it is expected that anyone here is descendant of a mix of ethnicities

so im guessing when Koreans hear “American” they think of white skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes? 😂 Americans come in all shades of skin, hair, and eye color.
Because its the common representation of Americans because of Hollywood and things like that. Also, most foreign Americans they met might have been white
There arises big problems later with different culture marriages. Especially with different races mostly. Sure, it does not mean that is the case, but statistics do not lie. Problem becomes more accute as children are born and they have some identity issues. In broad sense also, it turned out, that mixed children are not as robust in terms of health it is about few percent difference but it is a big issue if there are more among populous.
As a non-Caucasian American I was expecting this to go very differently. I've visited Korea a few times and have experienced a coldness in people that my Caucasian friends didn't feel, felt watched/gawked at, and was regularly singled out especially since it seemed completely normal to use my skin color (black) as a prefix in talking about me. I would definitely be interested in seeing what parents would say about non-Caucasian Americans.
As a white man who married a Korean girl and has 2 daughters ... don't do this to your poor parents. I just felt so much empathy for the mom who wanted to bring a gun. Life is hard so don't shock your parents unless it's real.
I wish my parents were half this understanding and okay with me dating someone not white, Or should I say my family. They would be okay with me dating Asians/Hispanics well my mother would be. My father however if they aren't white he would disown me and so would my family. They hounded my younger cousin for dating a black guy and sure I'd want to date outside of my Skin Color but I feel like I would have to keep them secret and thats not fair to them. I've dated Black people before or should I say African Americans tho I just view them as Americans because they are. Though that was when I was younger and braver I guess. My Advice to any who may read this. Date who you want as long as you are both happy no matter the Gender/Race. Life is to short to worry about what others think And that person you dream of that soulmate might just be lighter or darker then you so don't let that stop you. I just wish I could follow my own Advice.
If this would have been a video of korean girls telling their parents they were dating a black man the video would be 30 seconds long because their parents would have just immediately hung up and blocked their number.
I was on the other side of this, I was an American in the army in Korea and started dating a Korean woman that was going to school in Taegu (Daegu). Mom was ok with it, dad was ok with it, the older brother that was going to school in Seoul was not ok with it, that was that end of the relationship.
This really shows the difference in cultures like in the PH from what my mom said cause I grew up in CA that if people had a foreign partner they were praised and shit but my mom raised me different to basics treat everyone the same and that she could careless of who I date as long as the girl loves me and respect her and my dad she will accept her open arms
A lot of people have asked what would happen if they specified that their partner was of another race, and while there are a few who would be open. I wonder what would also happen if they talked about marrying that foreigner because some korean parents say they are open to them DATING foreigners of another race but MARRYING them, No way! They switch up real fast.

The hatred towards Americans explains why my mother's side of the family doesn't want anything to do with us.☹️ I always wanted to visit South Korea and meet with the rest of my family over there, but I guess that'll never happen
i am so sorry to hear that i hope one day they and you can meet :)
Austin's mom's voice sounds so comforting.
Nothing like trollin’ the fam.
:P Austin's mom sounds so cute, and so does Cha Cha's. But sounds like the Austin's parents know what he likes lol
I do remember seeing another Korean guy afraid to bring his black American girlfriend to meet his parents and his parents took her in when he went away two weeks later, and he was so surprised they were that open minded.
I’m glad the parents didn’t say something like , Is good for the experience 🧐 because I have watch Many RUclips channels, where Koreans are ask if they will date a foreigner. They say yes, “ I will like to have that experience,” as if dating someone from a different nationality/ ethnic background is something to brag about and put on your resume….
it is something to brag about and is a unique experience. Besides USA, Canada, and UK, every other country is majority one race with no diversity. Most of them will never meet in person someone different than them
kinda like all these koreaboos want a koreaN boyfriend or girlfriend
@@Pyramanager countries in latin america are really diverse, especially here in Brazil
Since in Korea 99% of the population is Korean, dating someone from a different ethnicity is very rare. It makes people want to brag about it because it's a unique thing they have going. Basically standing out from the others around them.
It's like having these new brand shoes only a few rich people could get but everyone wants them. Yes, it sounds a little weird but that's how it is in homogenous countries.
Believe it or not, that's what most guys and (women) from homogeneous countries says... It's not unique to Koreans...
The fact that all parents are not like their's who understand their children hurts me. Some parents don't even respect their children privacy.

Chacha’s personality seems🥰
The next video seems really intense
I just know the next video is going to be BRUTAL
So interesting to see other cultures. Mexican American parents need to be called constantly to be told " Im ok and I love you" if not they think you're in trouble.
my mom would watch my facebook, if i didn't post anything for a week, she'd call to make sure i was ok (that was actually WHY i posted most of the time).. most of that time, i was actually taking care of not just myself, but a girlfriend and her 3 kids. so, yeah, i guess you'd say living an adult life. she's (mostly) native american.
Me: Mom, I’ve got a girlfriend, she is American
Mom: Oh really? Thank god, you’re gonna leave this country soon 🤣🤣🤣
The next video thooo. I'm already on the edge of my seat lol

Chacha single for 3 years! Cmon korean guys she is a catch! I'd swim from the US and walk threw fire just to get a CHANCE to talk to her.
and get rejected because girls don't like simps
Really excited for the next video. The content on this channel just gets better and better.
This channel is getting crazier by the next video
Chacha get's her cool personality from her folks!
Me: "Mom I have a boyfriend"
Mom: "*sigh~* you can finally leave my house" or " Is he short sighted?"
Chacha’s mom was the best, very funny 😂😂😂
When I was young, I also thought that all Americans are white with blonde hair and blue eyes. But as I got older, I learned that was not the case.
The first time i saw Americans with brown skin is when i saw a basketball game in 2004
If only it were.....😔
I’ve been waiting patiently for this 😌🙂
0:27 « language barrier » she can be American but speaking korean haha
It’s a really difficult situation.
My thought was why would you date someone who wasn't at least proficient in your language if your feel like you're not gonna be proficient in theirs lol
“Which means I’m the best mother” Um, until that comment, yes
@@rainstories666, I agree. In America most older people now are pretty open to freedom. Its changing fast and my hope is America and South Korea can continue to build a healthy and happy relationship based on the idea of common freedoms! Of course there will always be differences and it takes awhile to accept new freedoms but thats what makes both countries great!
@@rainstories666 I'm sorry but you're wrong. not only older generation, but also young folks in Korea generally have such a negative stance against LGBTQ+ or dating with foreigners. in my school time people who were outed had to get bullied, or immediately move to other school so they can hide that they're LGBTQ+. trans people here have 0 chance to get any proper job, so often they choose to sell their body to make a living. we're the least opened people in Asia. even in Muslim countries they are more open-minded and they accept, tolerate more. I didn't want to be mean but reality here is a lot different with your explanation.
I don’t see how any of the Korean girls are single their so cute
The Korean birth rate is so low because of the big factors is that so many young people are single.

"They like small girls" HAHAHAHAHAA that shit is funny !!!!
No it's weird...
It is good to see light hearted and funny video. Thank you for the laughs.
I'm sure there are a lot of American guys (not me; too old) that would volunteer to be ChaCha's boyfriend so she wouldn't have to disappoint her mom.

I’m Mexican American :) if I told my mom I was dating a Korean guy idk how she’d respond😭 She always telling me to get with a Mexican guy but I’m sure she’ll be okay with it :) as long as he’s respectful and Nice :)
I'm a Tejano and I don't know what type of girl I should choose. Latinas feel close to home and warm, east asians seem polite and introverted, whites are the most common racial group in the US. Ah, I don't which type to choose from.
Blonde hair and ,ight eyes are less than 2% of population. Very much worth preserving them and it’s quite beautiful no matter the bs on them being a majority…,far from it.
This had me dying, why was the one girl's mom so brutal lol off the bat she said I know your lying Ahhahaha
Man, that guy who didn’t call his parents since last year… if they treated him well and he loves them, he should call and visit more.
"They are into little girls" fkn lol!
American bf or gf could mean alot of things lol.
Asians tend to think of Americans as blond and blue eyed.

so im guessing when Koreans hear “American” they think of white skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes? 😂 Americans come in all shades of skin, hair, and eye color.
They’re thinking of the most beautiful
@@hah3456 what do you mean by white skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes are the most beautiful????? what a racist comment
@@hah3456 they’re thinking of the most basic and annoying, actually
Because its the common representation of Americans because of Hollywood and things like that. Also, most foreign Americans they met might have been white
@@alexw9879 but why the most beautiful? Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, just like people. Now he is trying to the white supremacy up again?
Its just tough when cultures collide. Somethings might be ok in one and bad in the other. I've seen many mix marriages end because of that
There arises big problems later with different culture marriages.
I love y’all 💜💜

Americans are usually seen as rich by other nations.
It’s good to marry rich.
It’s not really surprising.
They're not, I think they're just seeing how their parents would react
As a non-Caucasian American I was expecting this to go very differently. I've visited Korea a few times and have experienced a coldness in people that my Caucasian friends didn't feel, felt watched/gawked at, and was regularly singled out especially since it seemed completely normal to use my skin color (black) as a prefix in talking about me. I would definitely be interested in seeing what parents would say about non-Caucasian Americans.
They would rightfully disown them 💀

I just wish I could follow my own Advice.
just one question. you said they "hounded" the cousin. did they disown the cousin? or just "pick on them"?
If this would have been a video of korean girls telling their parents they were dating a black man the video would be 30 seconds long because their parents would have just immediately hung up and blocked their number.
i love how in the background music they're playing the Habanera casually after intro

I was on the other side of this, I was an American in the army in Korea and started dating a Korean woman that was going to school in Taegu (Daegu). Mom was ok with it, dad was ok with it, the older brother that was going to school in Seoul was not ok with it, that was that end of the relationship.
I will happily end ChaChas 3 year streak of being single lol
This really shows the difference in cultures like in the PH from what my mom said cause I grew up in CA that if people had a foreign partner they were praised and shit but my mom raised me different to basics treat everyone the same and that she could careless of who I date as long as the girl loves me and respect her and my dad she will accept her open arms
