It was a true pleasure. Lipscomb supported my coming to record Edward's classes that year. So, they get credit also.

what happens in death? souls that apostate how does that work? And how long does it take to burn up the life force given as a gift from the creator? "perish, die, destroy" to make ruin; to seperate from source...i'm having a hard hard time with this/ Too many DE's and NDE's A even if other pagan religions believe in immortality, does that just include pladoh and and Socrateez? ..as soon as conditionalism came to be a thing, then universalism comes to be a thing. isn't written in the last days people would even listen t sound doctrine? idk. i'm lost

DE and NDE are no basis for understanding death. People relating these stories of their experiences are not familiar with what the Bible teaches and they are filled with sensational imaginings based upon rumors of what death is like. Edward does not teach what happens at Death but His friend Al Maxey wrote a book and asked Edward to write the forward to it. it is very extensive on the subject of the intermediate state titled "From Ruin to Resurrection" by Al Maxey. If you want to know what the bible says the book would be well worth the modest price.

25 The following are three texts in which "death", "corruption", and "perish" should be taken at their normal, everyday, dictionary meaning; they all contrast with eternal life. There will be a resurrection of all at the last day (John 5), the unbelievers to judgement (in perishable bodies), see Romans 2:5-10, which says they will suffer anguish and affliction, but the WRATH that causes this is in contrast with ETERNAL LIFE, so the wrath is not eternal, but temporal, for all that is not eternal is temporal (2Co 4:17, 18).
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life, in Christ Jesus our Lord (Ro 6:23 AT).
For the one who sows to his flesh will from the flesh reap corruption; but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life (Gal 6:8 AT).
For God thus loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that everyone believing in him may not perish, but have eternal life (Jn 3:16 AT)
Love not the world…for all that is in the world…is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world PASSES AWAY, and the lusts thereof: but he that does the will of God abides FOREVER. (1Jn 2:15a, 16, 17 author's trans.).
      E. Roessing, author of The Christ of the Apostolic Confession

None of the NDEs line up. They are all very different experiences and reflect what they think the afterlife will be like.
The NDEs actually make a good argument for the soul sleep argument as, if they were real, there would be congruency, not disparity.

And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

There is no question that Mr. Fudge is a humble and scholarly man but very possibly he neglected to read the very back of the book. Here is what the Bible actually states about everlasting punishment: Rev 14:9 If anyone receives the mark of the beast on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of the wrath of God.....and will be tormented with the fire and brimstone; VS 11 and the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever they will have no rest day and night. Rev 20:10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone.... and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Rev 20:15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life he was thrown into the lake of fire. The key to avoiding this awful terrible tragedy is to do exactly what Jesus told the religious leader of the Jews to do: "Truly, truly, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." John 3:3 How? Repent of your sins and ask God for His mercy and to forgive you. Believe that Jesus is truly the Son of God and that he died in the cross to redeemed you with his precious blood. Trust in Him, confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. Receive His free gift of grace through your complete faith in him and you will become a child of God. John 1:12

Actually Edward covers all Scripture related to the subject of the punishment of the wicked. So should you want to understand how he deals with these and any other texts you can think of watch more of his videos including Q&A sessions or better yet read his exhaustive book "The Fire That Consumes" 1St edition first published 1982 or 3rd edition published in 2011 where he includes replies to the 17 people who wrote objections to his 1982 edition. there is no oee who covers the topic more completely than he. In the 1st edition at the end he appeals to those holding the traditional view to bring any evidence that he had not covered. The 17 authors who opposed his view did not bring one argument that he had not already covered but he still replies to them in the 3rd edition.

Its not mentioned in the video.
I was just curious as to what precisely is your defined theological and defined ontalogical position regarding Islam.
We already know what you think about Judaism and Christianity.
But Islam is allegedly one of the so called other "Abrahamic" faiths.
      So lets keep it simple.
Heres three simple questions for you:
      1. Is ALLAH the same God as YAHWEH?
      2. Is Islam a so called "Abrahamic" faith?
      3. Do Muslims go to Heaven when they Die?
Just curious my dear fellow human.
      Well.....................

@@shaunigothictv1003 let's do the last 3rd point first. Even Christians do not go to heaven at death. The teaching of Hebrew Scripture which Islam adheres to as I in my limited understanding have heard from some holding to Islamic teaching. The teaching of Scripture including the writing of early believers teach Resurrection at the last day. See Daniel 12:2 recognized as the first clear passage in Hebrew Scripture. See also 1Cor 15:12-28 Where Paul describes in detail how essential the teaching of resurrection is. We also have Books like Surprised by Hope by NT Wright that verify hope taught in Scripture is not in going to heaven but hope for resurrection at the coming of Christ. So those holding to Islam do not proceed before everyone else. Heaven itself as taught in Scripture comes to the Earth made new in the form of the New Jerusalem. Where peoples from every tribe and nation will be welcomed.
point 2. Islam and "all nations" are eligible to be recipients of the faith given Abraham. This is according to the Covenant Promise given Abraham during the covenantal ceremony recorded in Gen 15 Where God appearing as a pot of fire and declares the fulfillment of the promises based upon His Name. This occurred at least 15 years before he was circumcised. In Gen 17 Ishmael was born and raised and participated in circumcision as part of Abraham's family. But the Son of Promise, Isaac, from whom The Seed/Messiah would come was yet to be conceived and born. All blessings ment for all of mankind come through Abraham and the Covenant of Promise given him in Gen 15.
point 1 I am not familiar with what Islam teaches about the name Allah. YHWH is the covenantal name in Hebrew Scripture. It means He is, and will be. It is not a noun. it is a verb of action. Power of the name, HaShem, are recorded as the acts of creation and deliverances over Israel's history. So YHWH is a God who acts and those acts reveal His power or Name. So if Allah means similar there is nothing wrong with what this God is called if one accepts His actions done on behalf of mankind.
