Wow. I need to watch this like 3 more times. I never realized how powerful EZ Bass was. Thanks so much for the time you take to record, edit, and show these tutorials. I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy!
The articulations and velocity adjustments methods you showed in this one are fantastic, Shawn. I’ve dabbled, but man, you always get to the heart of it and I can immediately make big sets of tweaks that weren’t obvious to me before.
Seriously, your videos really knock cit out of the park addressing all the little details in the Toontrack line I've been looking for without the filler. Fast, efficient and fun. Thank you.
nice dude !! I forgot how good EZbass really sounds. This vid inspired me to get more out of EZbass again thx dude and I love this killer vid serie. ROCK OOON !!!!!!!!!
Bro, thanks for this. I've been using EZB since it was released, and don't use a fraction of the available options. I'll have to watch this ten or eleven more times. 👍
Awesome shootie. I love ezbass and now I know a bunch more ways to use it. I'll need to watch this video about 5 more times to grasp all the cool tricks you used. Thanks so much
Like always, Shawn, you're so thorough in your explanations. I've seen this before but I keep learning new tricks. Toontracks should be hiring guys like you on a more regular basis. You're the man!
I use EZ Drummer and EZ Keys but I haven't pulled the trigger on EZ Bass yet. This video may push me over the edge. Thanks for consistently great content. It always inspires me to dig deeper.
Question for shootie. In ez bass and ez drummer, is there away to mark "my favorite" drum kit . Same thing for ez bass. I have my go to sounds I like and seems I'm always searching in old songs to remember what I used in the past.
I don't think so. I don't think they sampled the instrument like that. If I play a 5th fret on the E and then an open A, it sounds exactly the same. A good question. I think they should put this in EZB2.
Question: if I already have te core program of Ezkeys, can I just buy Ezbass sound expansion? Or would I need to buy Ezbass core program? Love your content. Awesome explanations that even a Beavis like me can follow/understand.
Thank you! You must buy EZbass. Someone in my Facebook Group was selling it at a discount last week, might be worth looking into if you want to save a few bux. Link in description.
Thanks for this video. Is there a way of reducing fret buzz without reducing the velocity ? I find it a bit offputting just how many samples include fret buzz. 👍
Thank you for the video! Is there an option of automatic multi-tracking on Ezbass? (meaning each virtual guitar uses a different sequence of samples during playback, so there will be no phasing)
@@ShootieSchool Hi, thanks! I need 2 different tracks of the same part, so I can pan them left and right when mixing. (I know Shreddage guitars has it, so I wonder if Ezbass has it too)
@@ShootieSchool Of course :) I'm asking about a situation where I am a one-man-band and need to record every instrument by myself (without owning a bass guitar and drums etc)
Hello again, after trying some of the stuff in your video, I cannot figure out how you drew a whole line of notes with one stroke. When I go to draw notes, it only draws one note at a time, and if I drag further the note just gets longer instead of having multiple notes. Wondering if you could give me a clue :-)
I don't have time to watch this video to see what I said, feel free to point it out though. I think you're refering to how EZD/SD drummer work, not EZBass.
Thanks for the reply. In Ez bass you were able to draw a whole line of quarter notes with just one pencil stroke. For me, it is only drawing one note at a time. Tried option key and other gueses but that's the only behavior I'm getting... Anyway, thanks again for the good video
Is it possible to copy an audio phrase that Ezbass has gotten rhythmically correct and then copy and paste it? I can't seem to find it. I'm trying to record a fast skate punk song that has that triplets feel to the guitars/bass and it's struggling to get the rhythm consistently despite me playing that correctly on my initial audio
I'm not sure if i follow perfectly. But, you could just commit it to midi right away after using the Audio Tracker and then copy/paste the midi notes with the Grid Editor.
@@ShootieSchool Yeah sorry, perhaps I'm not explaining myself clearly. This is the song I'm covering - ruclips.net/video/CxQxI7jCFdE/видео.html - I've got the drums done in full and thought I'd start with the bass before guitars - I think obviously the speed of it might be giving EZbass some trouble getting the rhythms exact when converting it from audio directly when played on guitar. I'm going to try and mess around with it in the grid editor too - will re-watch the last portion of this video where you show how to try things with that. If there are any other ezbass grid editor videos I'd love to see them!
@tomkmb4120 I do not have any other grid editor vids for ezbass yet. I’d make sure you’re recording a clean tone with an articulate performance. After that you have to work with what the audio tracker provides. It can take some effort depending on the situation.
@@ShootieSchool Thanks, I guess just a general lack of familiarity and practice with the software is also a barrier to achieving a desired outcome currently - that will come in time. I've got a midi keyboard arriving in the next few days that I picked up off Ebay, so that may be a method I'll try as well to see how I fare.
Good luck with it, Tom. Just do a riff at a time, you'll get it in time. And yes, there are many methods to EZBass and they compliment each other as you see in this vid.

@@ShootieSchool Thanks for answering my question. 👍
What's the best way for it to pickup the 'guitar audio' as a bassline - should you play the song in small parts or go through the whole thing?
Whichever way you choose, you'll probably want to chop it up into smaller section.

It doesn’t. You may want research if people are actually doing this with bass. Never heard of it myself.
Super!
Super duper!
At first it looks amazing, but is it good enough for recording an actual studio album? Or it's only good for pre-production and some cheap demo? :)
If you learn it well and put the time needed, it works convincingly. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who’s already a pro bass player.
