  • In 2022 a video went viral on social media of two performers doing Past The Point of No Return from Phantom of the Opera... in torrential rain.
What you don't see in that video is me: the Radio Mic Technician on that show responsible for the build, maintenance and repair of their microphones panicking backstage over how (when) a downpour like this would ruin their mics.
I was unfortunately not making content yet while working on this show. So today I am taking you through all of my instagram posts and stories during my time on the show. If you have any questions able the show comment below or send me a dm on instagram and I will answer them in a dedicated Q&A video!
    Filmed on Gadigal land.

I just have to say that it is SO cool to see your behind the stage perspective on these shows - especially one such as unique as that! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences here - it really shows that you truly love what you do, and people like you are what helps to make these shows so great!
My question is - after working on Phantom a few times now - are there any parts of the show that you will never get tired of even after experiencing it so many times? (Or any show for that matter)
Thanks again - and sending love from Canada!

    25:13 - @MoniqueTech - Hey Monique, new subscriber - old school techie here 👋🤓
To try and answer your question re the production MX or LX crews wearing of “hideous ugly shirts” for at least one day in a long running show or a short season.
As you well know Tech-wear is predominantly black, so just for a bit of fun during a run there would be a competition amongst the crew voted on by selected cast member(s) to whom wore the loudest/ brightly coloured or ugliest shirt!
Back in the day it was traditionally called “loud shirt day” and the winning crew member would mostly win bragging rights to poor fashion or wardrobe choice. 😅😆
I’ve worked as a Mech, Prop-tech and LX tech internationally for many years and it’s a tradition predominantly found in Australia 🇦🇺
    and NewZealand 🇳🇿

We need to bring back the element of competition! That sounds so fun!
