Happy Halloween guys, one of my faves, thank you for this. Just so you know, this is the second singer for this band. Great vocal range I might add. Absolutely love this whole song. Puts you on a great mood, the twists and turns are amazing. If you would like to check out the first singer, try Ride The Sky. A speed metal classic, much love& respect❤🥰

I would give a 1000 likes for this song. Kiske was in his teens when he sang on this. The guitarists are Hansen and Weikath. You have to watch United alive in its entirety. Kiske still has it. ... I Thank you for a fantastic reaction. Loved them since the mid 80s.

Keeper of the seven keys next - The most epic of all epic power metal songs ever created!
Yes. Keeper of the seven keys is my favorite power metal song of all time. Would love to see these guys reaction!! Plus I’m sort of biased since I live in Germany.
Guys, glad you loved the track. Helloween is THAT band that started the wave of speed metal. Now people call it power metal. But at the time they released their 1st album it was called wagner metal or speed metal, not power metal. No matter how you call it - but if you listen to all Helloween albums released in 80-s you will be amazed how many of their legacy was used afterwards by other bands and how many of their riffs, composition approach and etc was borrowed by upcoming generations.
Great video, you made my day! helloween is my all time favorite band. happy you liked them. the gitarist Kai Hansen also the singer on the first helloween album and the founder of gamma ray another great band. they are now all re-united with two singers and three guitarist under the name pumpkins united. they have a live show bluray and some clips on youtube from wacken. maybe a tip for another reaction. you guys are great ! stay the same and make a lot more videos. happy halloween!!

The vocalist for this song, Michael Kiske, was 18 (or was he 19?, not 100% sure) when the song was recorded. He still has a great voice after all these years...he was replaced by Andi Deris in 1993 but returned in 2017 along with original guitarist/vocalist Kai Hansen. They now have all three vocalists in the band and recently released a self-titled album that is quite excellent. Cheers!
So glad you listened to the album version, everyone else checks out the official video and they cut 1/2 the song and solos. This is the best way to enjoy this song. Very epic.
It's great to see father and son enjoying Helloween together. I am a man in his 50s who was obsessed with Helloween in 1989. I am so envious of the love for a heavy metal group between father and son. My daughter hates metal.
Maiden and Helloween were the first two metal bands i ever heard and will always be my favourites. This song is a true masterpiece and I loved seeing you both enjoy it so much. Awesome video as always and happy Halloween:)

In 1987 i was 13yo and i still remember how i heard this album for a first time like it was a halfhour ago.

jumped on the train line. Is name was Ingo Schwichtenberg (R.I.P)

I really like your possitive reaction on this song wich I heard for the first time 30 years ago in 1990. When I heard this album I listened to it 9 times without a break. And Helloween began my favorite band for all times. Cheers from Bulgaria! :)
Great reaction! You chose the right version. I'm a big fan of Helloween, the young Michael Kiske is one of the greatest metal singers for me. The guitarists are also very good. The drummer was also one of the best there has ever been. Unfortunately, 8 years after this recording, he jumped in front of a train with mental health problems. (RIP Mr. Smile)

I’ve been a Helloween fanatic since I was 21 in 1985 and I had the high honor of interviewing Markus, the bass player in 2018 in Las Vegas on the Pumpkins United Tour and my son, 25 at the time was the cameraman. What a thrill for both of us so I love seeing you two discovering the greatest band that ever was, together. You have SO much to discover. Besides this and Keeper of the 7 Keys song they have a 3rd 13 minute song, King for 1000 Years. Different vocalist but I suggest you do that one. It’s so amazing just like this.
They are going STRONG and preparing to release a new album in 2021. Like I said, the greatest band that ever was. Enjoy the discovery!!

I think what I liked most about this song is the music layering and composition. Them mixing in some synth, some acoustics, the change-ups later in the song with slightly more chugging guitars, parts featuring the guitar, atmosphere, drum rhythms, a touch of voice modulation for a short part, switching up rhythms through different parts of the song.
This song was quite a ride! Awesome! I may have to check out more Helloween at some point for sure (still sifting through many other artists on my end, but I hope to get around to them).
I'm starting to think if you want some high vocal range displays, then maybe MUSE - Supremacy (live at Rome) is the way to go (though music. Hearing his voice, and seeing his vocal range live, is something else. Haha
Otherwise, I think Mikael's vocals on "Strange Brew" with Opeth I think are excellent.
Reeses and 3 Musketeers are my go-to. Though, I cannot discriminate against Milky Way, and Twix. Though, I have a sugar habit in general, and I can kind of thank my Mom for that (Her and I have both eaten cake for breakfast when I was a kid. lol We both are mightily into cake. XD).

They are a German band from the early/mid 80s and their sound is so typical of rock bands of that time.I think they are still going as a band but under a different name.
The vocalist sounds very much like Bruce Dickinson to my mind - that's very probably why you both like his sound so much.

Great video. Definitely can appreciate the idea of doing it as a Halloween tribute. Halloween, Keeper of the Seven Keys & I Want Out are my top three Helloween songs. If you never heard them before I strongly recommend checking out the band Gamma Ray, they had the same vocalist for the longest time and has the same bombastic power metal feel. To me Helloween always felt more like a mixture of Power and Progressive metal.

Wow - I never knew them guys got much recognition in the US. I remember buying the live LP (actually begging mom to buy it while we were grocery shopping) when I must have been like 12 or 13 years old, simply because of the cover. Blew me away. Then I figured they were from Hamburg, only 2 hours from where I lived.
By the way: There is a very good live performance of Keeper of the 7 keys here on youtube. They've played a "united" tour in 2018 (?). So a much more modern production and an "updated to today's ear" sound.

Halloween was, as they themselves called it, „Happy Metal“. They did all this in their early 20. If you are interested in what the main characters write these days (let’s call it „as adults“), check Unisonic. E.g. „Exceptional“ at Wacken. Pro Voice work!
This is a concept album that you shall listen to the whole, also Walls of Jericho, songs recommended for music appreciation are: Cry for Freedom, Judas and in a high lighted note, Victim of Fate. Victim of Fate has a lot to dig. If you love the drums(son) on Halloween, you'll love the drums on this one

Also recommend checking out the cover version by Dark Moor, a Nightwish-like symphonic power metal band from Spain. While their newer stuff sucks, their older work, especially when they had their female lead singer was incredible.

Helloween never made it here in USA. Late 80s early 90s. Theyre German. Known as poioneers of power metal n yh great bands. Michael kiske is the singer. They jist reunited about 4 yrs ago i saw that show like in 2018..

Nice! This is an epic masterpiece. The Whole Keeper of the Seven Keys albums (there are two) are classic and are highly regarded. They are one the first true "power metal" bands...I have always called them "happy metal" because most of their music is pretty upbeat. Those vocals are insane...so high and so catchy! The band has gone through many memebers but most of those ex-members joined the band on their Pumpkins United tour...there are several whole shows (of varying quality) on RUclips to check out. It was a lot of fun to watch those guys as it looked like THEY were having tons of fun performing for the fans. That scream is like the one I do when I step on a Lego brick with bare feet haha! I might go stalker spam on you guys now. But how in the world is it possible that you haven't reacted to Iron Maiden - Children of the Damned (1982 live) yet?
Very disappointing. I thought I was going to like this band based off the livestream. Then came this song and that annoyong thing European heavy metal singers like to do. What father was imitating gets on my nerves. I hate it when they hold high like they are trying to break glass. Heavy metal isn't one of my favorite genres, and that singing style just irritates me.
