I used to get so frustrated when I first started learning guitar that once i threw it on the ground, kicked the absolute living crap out of it till all the strings broke off. Then I picked it up restrung it with fresh strings and carried on learning. I was young and hadn't been layed in a while.
At 13, I got a JC Penney electric guitar for christmas. It was frustrating because no matter what I did.....it always sounded like an acoustic guitar with an amplifier. I actually thought that the Hard Rock bands were just so great that they made the guitar scream the way that it did. After I traded it for an RC10, I found out from some guys at school who had a garage band that it was the Special Effects that gave those amazing sounds. :)
