Good one, thanks. I have never been successful making a tour/video with GE, but I'll try again following your instructions. One thing, there is no Sony Vegas; it is now, and has been for the last few years, Magix Vegas.
You made a great Tutorial! After I made the Movie Maker on Google Earth Pro step, a time slider is on the upper left of my outputted video. I wonder to know how to make the time slider invisible. I would appreciate a reply!
Thank you for this tutorial! Great video, very informative and easy to follow. Do you know of any way to perform this same application using 360 video?
Hi, great video. I am just wondering if there is a way to create a georeferenced photos from the video so they can be displayed as points with photo attached?
You will need to extract and manipulate the data with custom scripts, to do that. There might be some tools that help with that, but I'm not sure which ones.
I really like your software and its helping me a lot with my projects. I just have one question, is it possible to generate a GPX, KML or KMZ file out of Google Maps where you have pre-planned route already for several places with your software and run it on Google Earth and create a tour with an arrow icon as if you are driving around? I've tried this but it did not animate like the GPX files gotten directly from Gopro. It just kind of fly the route without the arrow icon. Maybe you have an idea to make this happen. Thanks!
I think the problem is the GPX file generated with Google Maps contains a GPX route, but not a GPX track. The main difference is routes do not have timestamps for the GPS coordinates, so they are less suitable for animation. I have not tested this personally, but some online tools can convert GPX routes to GPX tracks (Google seems to give some good results). This should do the trick. Otherwise let me know and I'll think of alternatives.
Hi, this is great what you' done. I wanted to ask for help, as you might know how to do it. I use GoPro as a safety camera to record near misses and close passes of cars. I'd like to precent police with a video footage and when I come to the point where the car passed, I'd like to be able to see where on map I was. The process you show in the video seems a lot of work to do after every ride, so I am after something more simple, but not sure if GoPro can do it. Many thanks!
Hello, great tutorial! I've been playing around with the Google Maps API and running the html/Javascript code it's limited to around zoom:20 (feels like 20 meters above ground). But with the Google Earth Pro application I can manually zoom into maps to ground level view. Do you know if possible to use the Google Earth API data to allow to run html/Javascript to allow to zoom right into ground level (without using the Google Earth Pro Application) ?
I added map overlays to Google Earth. It's not straightforward and it can be buggy, as Google Earth is not exactly designed for that, but here's a link with the info ge-map-overlays.appspot.com/
@UCQFWT-CNgkC8ukhKgHaB4Vw very clear, thx. But when I try to drag on slider to fast forward the process as your at 03:26, the map does not move at all. The recording time still increase with real time speed. P/S: I tried Repair Tool but no hope.
No no, I'm not dragging the slider. I just fast forwarded my edited video so the tutorial was shorter, but in real life you need to wait for its completion
Awesome tutorial! Is there a way to merge two GoPro GPX files because apparently this method will not work if there are two or more files. Or is there another way to make a video like this if there are multiple GPX files?
@@jamppapVisuals There might be other options, but the ones I know are to export the merged GPX file directly from Telemetry Extractor Premium, or do the entire visualization in the Telemetry Overlay software (it looks different from Google Earth), both of which can merge consecutive GoPro files.
My man! If my recorded bike video is 6 hours, and my gpx data is also 6 hours, does that mean that during the recording on Google Earth desktop ( 3:20 ), it will also be 6 hours long? is there a way to shorten the recording ?
Is there a way to make the map overlay opaque? Or reshape from a box to anothershape? Circle, oval, anything but box. Was thinking if you could make it very opaque you might be able to overlay full size. Also if you did a terrain map where the map was stationary but opaque up in the corner and you saw the entire trail and just the travel point moved, would be nice. Let me know and thanks! Great content!

@@TelemetryOverlay I tried downloading Google earth and importing the gpx file that I recorded both on my Garmin Edge and Strava on my phone and it's blurred out in Google earth, I can't import it.

Sweet video, GoPro has a feature called timewarp where it's like a timelapse but a video played at 30x speed. When importing the GPS data and making the tour on Google Earth, it takes two hours to record the entire clip as the real time traveled was 2 hours, whereas the timewarp is only 2 and a half minutes. Is there a way to speed up the recording process for the Google Earth tour or will I have to speed up the footage in Premier? Looking forward to all the cool things I can do with the GoPro and Adobe :D!
