    To make the job easier use a tire hangar that you tread into studs holes. Lining up easier. Great info on spacer and excellent price from Pelican.

    15mm wheels spacers fit front and rear. Always use the set screws as well or you might get vibrations.

    That was a great video, I agree with you it bothers me when the wheels are not flush with the fenders. You should do the yellow front side markers to clear and then do a video on that also

    I have 2005 c2 and I'm using 15mm all around and it's from ECS tunning and it came with longer lugs. I have lobster claw wheels and wheel offset matter for wheel spacers

    Did you have to do an alignment?
    I have a 991.2 Carrera S and I would like to run the same wheel spacer set up.

    Nice video and explanation, good comparison. But tough to hear the lug bolts repeatedly referred to as "lug nuts". :b

    Wheel alignment long stud tool is needed !!!!!!! That brand of spacers are not recommend !! Only use H&R, ECS or 5mmm OEM. Note: more than 5mm in the front it’s not recommend by Porsche because will affect too much the necessary negative scrub radius.

    I put spacers on from Suncoast Porsche and now I get a shimmy at 85mph, and has Discount Tire check the balancing on the wheels, and it still shimmers. I’m thinking you car needs to be realigned after putting the spacers on.. I would welcome any feedback

      If you’re using good quality spacers (H&R, Eibach, Or known brand) and you’re getting vibration, it’s usually because they aren’t perfectly centered when mounted. The guy in this video didn’t use the set screws which is a mistake a lot of people make. Go to The hardware store and get some longer M6x16 or longer stainless screws and secure the spacers to the hub prior to mounting the wheel. Put the spacer on the hub and hand tighten the lug nuts, then insert and tighten the set screws. Remove lug nuts then mount the wheel. Should be perfect. Also, when removing the existing set screws, they can be a PIA and easily strip. Make sure you use a “PH3” bit. It’s NOT a phillips “star” bit. Good luck.

    Has this vehicle been tested and driven in an autocross event or tested make sure no vibration or any sign of these wheels becoming loose? The H&R brand wheel spacers have recessed holes where the bolts that they provide attach the spacer to the factory hub and then the wheel is installed on the spacer using the factory wheel bolts and Wheelock! So total you using 10 bolts per wheel. So bottom line do you think these wheel spacers you just installed in this 997 or just as safe as the H&R Trak Plus???

      I do not track my cars and specially not with it being a cab. As long as you use the proper length studs there should not be an issue, a few friends who do track with these and also with them being hub centric have not seen any issues.

  • @pjay3028
    @pjay3028 5 лет назад

    Do you really need longer wheel studs on the front? I heard the standard studs actually protrude beyond the back edge of the hub without spacers installed?

    • @Fulloctanegarage
      @Fulloctanegarage  5 лет назад

      My expert tells me as long as you have a min of 7 full turns of thread (9 is optimal) you should be good.

    • @Fulloctanegarage
      @Fulloctanegarage  5 лет назад +2

      I looked at my tools and it does not appear it came with wheel stud alignment rod. I am assuming it would be threaded on one end so it could screw in?

      I agree. Get a wheel guide. Like $10 on AZN. Super handy with our lug bolts and the lack of support. Esp good on my panny with 20's. Huge wheels.

    Why do people buy expensive cars and fit wheel spacers is beyond me. Buy custom wheels with custom offsets and do the job properly. On cheap skates buy spacers 👎👎👎👎👎

    • @Fulloctanegarage
      @Fulloctanegarage  3 года назад +3

      Expensive is relative, some of these are not that expensive and PCAR wheels are astronomical in cost compared to many other cars. Nothing wrong with small spacers if done properly but if you have an extra $5k sitting around for new wheels enjoy.
