Beautiful pictures and the panorama was spectacular! Love the high pick toma, the clearenest of the camare cacht the beauty of the mountain, real beautiful thanks for sharing🥰
Iv always said he loves a good foot spa. My fav line was the takayama old town comment about stepping back in time with a bunch of other strangers wearing futuristic clothing lol :)
My wife and I hope to go this winter to Takayama and the surrounding Alps… was wondering if you know if we can email a reservation to Sakurajaya as my Japanese is limited to ‘dai jo bu,’ ‘ogenki des ka,’ and ‘nijongo skoshi skoshi wakarimasu’. We would love to delve into Chef Hiroshi’s culinary delights!! 😊😊😊
Awesome. So refreshing to watch something else than Kyoto of Tokyo. It seems that enyire Japan is 1 big anime/Cosplay, which we known is isn't. Nice work!
Love your videos. I'm actually travelling to Takayama in the coming months. I've been looking for places to go while there. Sakurajaya Takayama seems like an ideal place to dine. Can you let me know how you made reservations for it? thanks and always appreciate your videos
Hey, thanks so much for the amazing video. What month did you travel for this video? I see the video was uploaded in October, but I'm noticing a lot of the trees already lost their leaves.
Hi nicely done video! Love the dry humors--are you brit?;)We are planning to stay one night in Shira in Dec do you think its feasible? And we don't drive, can we book a bus there from Takayama instread? Thanks!
Great video! Can you tell me the name of the waterfall at 2:50? Or the name of the trail its on? I can't find any pictures of it on their website. Planing on doing this in late April.
Hey. I don’t know unfortunately. It was all organised through the company we went with so I didn’t have to think about things. I believe I linked them in the description if you wanna book the same trip
@@SuitcaseMonkey thats the site I went to. They offer many different hikes, which vary greatly. And unfortunately are not described with very many pictures. This could be the reason people have such mixed reviews about hiking that area. I hope I pick the one you went on. Looks amazing!
Ah ok I see. If you are booking through them though I reckon if you contact them and ask they will defo be able to help. Or send them the link and ask?
Hi, noticed in the comments that it was in April that you visited Okuhida and there was still snow. I know there aren't so many snowy days in April but from your experience would you know if the ground would still be icy and the trees covered with icicles? Also, would it be a good idea to make Okuhida the home-base (thinking ryokan) and then make day trips by hired car to Takayama and to Shirakawago.
Hey there. It depends how much you are happy driving in a day. Takayama is about an hour each way and Shir 90 mins each way. Maybe you could do both in one trip to reduce the extra distance? But if you're happy with that, then yeah, if you have a really nice home you want to not always be moving from. We stayed in 2 different places because we wanted to be close in Takayama and then move on. Also, because our ryokan was quite expensive, it was easier to justify the expense over 2 nights as opposed to 4, if that makes sense. On the roads side of things, there a whole chunk I skipped out of this video for time sake, but we actually got stranded with the snow for a day and had to take the bus. You HAVE to get snow tyres, etc with your car to be able to drive, in case the weather gets bad. We didnt and couldn't leave our hotel. Even if we had the tyres I wouldn't have been confident driving on the winding cliffs to be honest so just be aware of that in advance.

Hi
I've just found your videos and love them. I spotted you guys riding bikes along a rail in this video and was wondering where this was?
At the 16 second-22second mark.
On Google maps it’s called Rail Mountain Bike Gattan Go!! Not sure if it’s still open
Hi, Everything looks AMAZING ! What month were you there?
April
great video, so where is the bike on the train track ride at the :18 second mark. I love going on those.
Hey thank you. On google maps it’s called Rail Mountain Bike Gattan Go!! It was really fun and a good stop over between Takayama and Okuhida.
@@SuitcaseMonkey do i need a car to get to it. I need to do that. Thx from Hawaii
To my knowledge yes you do
The foot spa is free of charge ?

Hi. Can I ask what exact date did you visit shinhotaka ropeway? We are travelling in April first week and we hope to see snow. Thank you.
It was around that time
Having trouble deciding between Gifu and Hokkaido. My trip will be in late February!
Gifu May be very snowy in Feb. Check how that compares and how that might affect your time there. In a good and bad way.
Is it a 2017 video?
Which month?

Did Chiakiさん grow up in Japan or England?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man I wanna visit Japan so bad
Which ryokan was that in Okuhida? Thank you
It’s linked in the description. Thanks
How do i get to Gifu, what's closest airport and can i hire a car to do my country side trip?
You can hire a car. Go to Japan-guide.com and search Gifu there. It has all the travel details you’ll nees
Closest airport is Chubu centrair in Nagoya.
Where did you come from prior to Gero? Tokyo or Osaka?
Kyoto. Check out my 14 more days in Japan which is where this clip was taken from. That video is the full trip.
Is it still forbidden to go to an onsen if you have a tattoo or has it changed?
I think generally it still is yes. But google around. There probably are some places where it is ok.
hi.. what month is in the video?
Hi. April.
@@SuitcaseMonkey thanks for the reply, keep it up !
what's your iphone to video ?iphone11?
This video was XS
0:48 I would dispute here... How about Iceland? Land saturated with hot springs to the fullest...
It’s true though. Japan is more than 3 times the size of Iceland which helps.
Love your vlogs! What month did you visit Japan?
Thank you! April
naol
The most important question for me tho. How much money do you need for this kind of trip?
Good job I’ve made this exact video then! It’s on the channel 😀
😄😲👌👌👍
