He just does that thing that top sportsmen do in all sports , he gives you moments that take your breath away . They always seem to have more time than others , or create another half yard that ensures a score .
I really hope Russell wins a 6 nations title before he retires. He’s a world class player stuck in a decent team (and this is coming from a Scotland fan). He has almost single handedly got us to a competitive level to where we can beat most teams in the world (bar perhaps Ireland/SA). But if you want to win a 6N, then you have to beat an Ireland at some point.
As a (very) former Back row, there were Stand-off's who were wholly " readable" in almost every aspect of their plays. very few were unreadable. A certain number of the Welsh Standoffs were brilliant in this respect and, given the superb service of the scrumhalves were absolutely outstanding.. Finn Russell easily gets into my top five since the 1960's The timing and placement of the "crosskick" which bounced. so perfectly into the hands of Duhan Van Der Merwe from which he scored was, to quote the commentator, sublime. One other from the era of "real" rugby was Richard Sharpe of England whose sidestep with no prior indication of any kind was really good to behold.
@@douglasstewart3889 No, by that logic you can’t compare George Best to Messi either. Nobody said Best wasn’t quality, nor Finn... although winning has to count for something in professional sport…
Not very edifying watching the Messi of rugby playing kick tennis in the last 15 of their loss to France, when they should have been pushing for victory. And not just kick tennis, but also playing the "Du Pont" rule by standing for a number of seconds in his 25 just not doing anything.
Steady on now. Messi of rugby? Messi is the greatest footballer of all time, has won absolutely every accolade in football and is arguably the most talented sportsman of all time? Finns just a very good Scottish player who's won F All
Internationally it’s actually a good comparison, both play in a top but not the best team in the world (at least Arg are not often the best), and Messi didn’t win anything until the end of his career. Let’s see if Finn can do something in the next 2-3
The lad at 3:20🤣🤣just his general appearance🤣🤣but also, is he mouthing “I LOVE YOU!”?!🤣🤣

Could have won it without beating Ireland this year. But Scotland have almost no chance of winning a 6N title, just aren’t good enough.
Yeah don't back yer team guys. Typical 😂
Marcus Smith's 'tackle' on that last try. LOL.
Yeah he’s a bloody useless ponce! Too busy d1cking around with his cringe haircut to actually defend properly 🤦♂️🤡

Finn Russell will go down as the GOAT SRU Player.
Should be 'Messi' of rugby so its taken with the tongue in cheek Russell joked it to be. Media taking tongue in cheek seriously as usual
No need to cry about it - it’s all tongue in cheek. Clearly not the Messi of rugby given that he’s won one trophy in his career
@@charlesstanden1685 right. By that logic, George Best was rubbish.

3:19 me when I see a Finn Russell highlights video (minus the savage curls)
So basically De Glanville wouldn’t have scored any tries without Finn? SMH

It’s ok to admit you don’t know where the reference has come from…
This is the media’s fault of milking the shit out of his funny remark, it’s a shame people are getting offended by it
