Very neat! I also love that the channel abbreviation also looks like it's supposed to say "nifty" because a lot of what you do here is quite nifty! 😊
12:08 The look that happens so rarely, where something just works the first time, with no modifications, and even better than you'd planned.
Brings a tear of joy to your eye
Nate, that’s badass. It actually makes me think of something you’d have on a spaceship to help attach equipment. Your very own docking station
Nate being all proud and excited about the results must be the wholesomest thing ever! 😁
His amazement is priceless 😂
Yes, that made me smile too.
It's a handy shelf you made.
Ba dum tsk 😂😂
Such a HANDY addition to the workshop, Nate! Well done, Sir!
Superior pun, sir! Hats off to you! 🎩
The editing human is hilarious
12:08
I would probably have the same grin on my face after setting up something like that XD
Nate I’ve been watching you for YEARSS, since around 2018 or so and you are my favourite, I appreciate you so much for what you have done and helped me through, without actually being there to help, TYSM Nate 💙
He started uploading a year ago…. Maybe you watched TKOR?
@@sundayfunday5059 i mean probably... like me too
That worked SHOCKINGLY well!
almost 1/2 million subscribers, Nate. Doesn't that tell you something? We love you!
3:47 IT'S A BOYYYYY! 🎉🎈
The proud look with the small shelf was fantastic 😊🤣
This was really cool i would love to see you do more things with alginate and other moulding materials !
Nate looking at warts on his hand: "uhh...and theres bubbles in the alginate" Kidding, lol
Very nice, Nate! Well done! 🥰 I see that you are very proud of this! 😀 As you should be! 😊 Love your cross 🤞 fingers too! ☺️💖
This is brilliant. The pure joy of it actually working
That moment, when something that you created works perfectly! Priceless!
For everything else, there's credit cards! LOL
Another truck I've seen people do when pouring molds is use a reciprocating saw with the blade off and the end where the blade would come through (don't know the name of that part of the saw) against the edge of your container that your mold is in then turn on and use as a vibratory way to help get bubbles out.
I would think that would work here too
This gives me tons of ideas. Excellent
This brought joy to my heart. Thank you. I needed that.
Simple yet super useful. I love it, and I was grinning with you.
That is very creative! It's always nice when we can make our lives easier.
Always a good day when Nate put a video out. Thanks for the video.
keep it coming, nate! congratz on 500k!
Glad you gave yourself a hand in this project.
The editor is amazing.😂😂😂
I just had dental impressions made yesterday. Good times.
That was slick my friend. Nicely done.
I love that your channel appears to be blowing up with subscribers.
That's badass! I'm def gonna try this technique for holding my guitars on my wall now!!
Wife setting across the room, looks over my shoulder, and just goes. "Huh, flared base."
You're now the king❤❤❤
Awesome project. Reminds me one time I made a wax hand. It was really fun.
Nate you dork😂😂❤❤ this is so cool
I know how you feel, that pride. It’s a man thing lol great video and craftsmanship!
The GOAT Editor
Very cool!
This is the definition of man news. Very good work sir.
That was amazing pretty cool 😎
That was a very handy project
I remember the MythBusters used to use alginate. This is nostalgia territory for me.
500k soon
The cell phone mount is SO frickin' creative! Nice job all around, Nate! Although, maybe paint the hand black so the model magic doesn't look so odd? lol
Seeing the end result:
ROCKETMAAAAN
So cool!
Whenever you hang it up you should say "Why thankyou Thing!"
super cool!
I looked up TKOR after years. Realized you were no longer there...
Looked up to see what happened to you and it brought me to this channel.
Glad you're still making content for us wannabe nerds :D
I only heard of TKOR after the guy died. That’s when I started following Ate and the other girl. But then they started their own RUclips channels and it’s much better!
This was a fun video.
I have questions, first what would happen to the mold if you put it into a freez drier, would it fall apart, would it become hard and tougher, what would a cast look like from a freeze dried mold.
Secondly I'm guessing the kind of similarity or the feeling to grants old set isn't by accident, would that be a fair assumption.
I think he'd be proud of this part of his legacy without a doubt
405th
And Alginates, if I recall right, set due to Ca2+ Ions in the forming mix. So if you use desalinated or distilled water and pure alginate it takes a lot longer to set
for a great video with 13k views i am surprised there are only 81 comments
Now you just need to make something for a wall mounted arm bracer that snaps around your arm just by pressing the arm into it. What the arm bracer actually does (in built heater for winter to keep hands warm?) is up to you. 😁
okay, seeing you mix the fiberglass plaster by hand made my own hand itch due to tiny bits of embedded glass.
same, that didn't look comfortable
You should use a straw to blow in the mold to get your hand out.
Is Callie your editor? Hehe, the on-screen annotations during the first couple of minutes read like she's giving you flack about the mixture 😂
King!
Yeah, but now, you need to make another hand that keeps the door from swinging open too wide and knocking the respirator on the ground. :P
I'm surprised you haven't made a PAPR yet! Seems you can even upgrade to a metal working up to like welding one? I don't know, maybe isn't in your 3D printing line of work. Then again, maybe you can make one like Iron Man or something super cool integrating off the shelf ranges of lenses that flip up.
I thought Nate from TKOR Died because of what i heard from TKOR.
You really missed the opportunity for AlgiNate from the Internet
Oye beltalowda!
'don't trust Nate with a blade'
Wait, isn't he a bladesmith? So is that a good endorsement or a negative one for prospective clients, 😂
I've seen people make molds with silicone where they use an air compressor hose to blow air down side of thing being cast to break the hold. Don't know if it would be too strong of air blast to leave not break the alginate
What about adding some fibers to the alginate to make it hold better? Could this work?
DOMAIN EXPANSION: INFINITE VOID
way cool!!!!!
0:50 Obligatory joke about how the air intake is right above your butt :-D better hold it in, otherwise you will breathe something toxic indeed! Hahahahaha
6:02 have you ever tried shredding the mold and re-kneading/reconstituting it to make another mold?
9:17 haha, good to see you are able to laugh at yourself too
12:15 it would've been interesting if there was a mechanism where you tap your head on the wall, and the visor comes down (like a welder's helmet?) and attaches to your head automatically
Did Nate buy the old king of random house
Domain Expansion….. Unlimited Void
Would cement cast with this?
NATE! action labs just made an emulsified Oil Water that looks like milk, please make this and do stuff like cook with it!
I need some sand for casting metal what do you suggest?
Green sand is your best bet
Rapidset mortar mix with flow control wouldve make a much stronger version of these.
Any reason why you couldn’t put some wire structure to help support the plaster and strengthen it?
Nevermind. I need to watch the whole video before commenting
I think he was lying when he said have a good day at the end
If you wanna come over to my place in Herriman, I could use some help getting my shop organized.... :D
Nate, I build signs for a living and your NFTI sign behind you is driving me nuts. You shouldn't be able to see a dotted line of light around the sign. I'm guessing you made it yourself and I don't blame you (A commercial backlit sign that size would cost at least 2k to make and install) and you probably used a led strip light around the perimeter, and while they can work for objects farther away from the wall, like a TV for instance, but up close lack any diffusion and make the dotted lines we see.
What you need is proper sign led modules. Google pictures of a "backlit led sign" to see what I mean. They have a lens over each led that projects the light equally in a 360° shallow bowl shape so there are no bright spots in any direction. Even when spaced inches apart they blend together seamlessly and create an illusion of it being one continuous light source like a neon tube.
You would only need probably 20 to 30 modules spaced evenly down the center of the letters, but you can try different spacing and counts to achieve the brightness and overlap your looking for.
The only downside is that you will need to supply your own power supply but if you make sure you get 12v modules, you can probably use any 12v wall plug or power adapter that puts out 12v and at least 1amp for that few modules (Like an old external hard drive power adapter for instance).
Also I should note that just a single 12v 3led module is probably brighter than a 12 foot section of led light strips. And for further reference we replaced all of our florescent lights in our facility with these modules by sticking 34 2led modules to the inside of the housing and replacing the ballast with a 12v power supply and it is just as or brighter than 4-4ft florescent tubes. And for durability, aside from a few power supply failures we haven't changed any of the led's in over 10 years.
Feel free to message me if you have any other questions on installing or good brands to buy.
I've been watching you since you started on kor and unsubscribed from kor when they fired you. Don't be afraid to put out random content, even if it's something you visited before on kor or someone else did. You have your own unique perspective and can put your own thoughts, designs, expertise, etc into something that may have been done before but done poorly and put your own spin on it.
I know it's long but I hope you have a chance to read it and good luck with your future endeavors!
2k for a small sign like that one? Surely that's something more fancy/permanent than, say, a retail shop sign, right? I presume more of "will be behind a show host and on camera at all times" as in this particular case.
Also why not use EL Rope (the "led noodle" kind, not the "Christmas lights in a tube" kind) instead of individual modules? I'm guessing the rope is simply not bright enough? Those modules wired together make great work lights btw, just add magnets to them.
What happend to the old channel
Domain Expansion?
How to show your good with your hands with out saying it 😉😉😂
Seems you got your hand dirty on this one.
ok Iron man
but... shouldn't it be algi-Nate...
i'm not sorry
You should try to 3-D print a gun, and custom design it to look like something from a video game with weird functional chemical injectors.😊
mah man casting his hand in mold at the cost of domain expansion as well 💀💀💀
Nate please dont handle fiberglass with your bare hands.
Handy
Your my favorite Nate from the internet 6:47
Tkor was went to hell
Hehe hook hand
Reverse pirate! Instead of a hook for a hand he now has a hand for a hook.
Your a champ Nate, I would have used a slightly different finger position one that the ladies like at least the ones I have known 😊
d
I meant dang but you get what I mean
first
Nope! Only immature as fuck for stating shit like that out! (you are 5th)
1. Nobody cares, not even your mother! Did she kiss you on the butt after that amazing achievement?
2. Being #1, 10, 100 or 1000 gives you nothing at all.
3. Did you win anything else but a bigger EGO?
4. Not even a seven year old child finds that shit funny
5. Ppl found that shit funny back in 2019^^
Fun fact. 99.9% of everyone claiming "first" is not even close^^
Dude really leeched off a dead dude
don't you need to be wearing a mask, that's mold right?
No…
yeah i looked it up, it's the other "mold"@@Dctctx
