I had something similar before. There are two issues with this kind of power stations. 1. Onboard charging: by default, they all offer a cigarette charger, which takes 12-24hrs to charge it fully. I had to build a charger myself to charge mine at 50A. The 2nd issue is access. Because everything is in one, it's so bulky and not easy to find a place in a Prado. Even if you find a place to put it, you have to make sure that you can access to the front panel and all the sockets.

Yes, I agree with most of what you are saying. In some instances, the Go Further battery station might suit better. There are definitely pros and cons with both, but I found overall they are certainly great products. I placed the Power Station on back seat and secured it with the seatbelt. Possibly the smaller ones may suit better. It's personal choice and what they may be used for. The Power Station was awesome on our Fraser Island Trip, and I used the solar blanket to put some charge back into it. 👍

@@prado150outahere Saying all that, it served me well. Just as I started camping more. I wanted a permanent solution and end up setting up lithium battery and DCDC charger and mounted them in hidden places. Then I found that I still need something portable and purchased a smaller one.

No worries mate. Yes still got mine and it's working perfectly

I have owned both of these, there is another con - the power station has a temperature cutout of around 40°C.
Learned this the hard way when I went camping in the Pilbara and it simply switched off because it got too hot, also switching off my fridge.
Whereas the battery box has a lot more versatile temperature range.

I have an ARDENT Heavy Duty Battery Box with 4x 50amp and 1x 175amp Anderson Plugs (in/out charging). There's a built-in (not bolted on) 1200w inverter, 2x USB ports and 2x 12v cig plug outlets.
    Inside, there's a 120amp LiFPo4 lithium battery.
My 45L fridge/freezer draws 1amp per hr. I have a microwave that runs off the inverter... and a toaster... and a travel kettle... even a rechargeable battery/mains powered oscillating fan with a light. You can find all these low-draw amperage items if you look around. I got the mw from IKEA in OZ and the kettle from England.
The battery can be charged via 240v or via my DC-DC in-car charger, or from my solar blanket through a MPPT Controller.
I'm sharing this because my Ardent Battery Box and 120amp Lithium Battery was purchased together in 2022 for around AUD$500
Not the thousands this guy is talking about. Look around. Do your own research.

We are looking at both tyoes. We only go away for one to three nights. We try to get powered sites even council campgrounds etc. mainly to run the fridge only. With a battery box what happens if it sits in the shed and goes flat? Is it easy to re-kick start them. Thanks. I went to a few camping stores last week and I was totally confused walking out. As in never let the battery go fully flat.

Thanks for your comments. It comes down to your needs and requirements. I like the Ps2000 for what you're talking about, Itechworld do have smaller ones and a bit cheaper too. Yes, they can sit for a while. However, I'd just put it on charge every 2 months to top it up. The advantage of the PS2000 is that you get an inverter as well. And it's easy to charge up at home. However, the Batter Box is good, too, if you're just running a fridge off the 12v. You'll just need a charger for home that charges Lithium. Hope this helps. Also will come down to budget. What vehicle do u have?

@@prado150outahere thanks for the reply. We have a Nissan navara warrior. It's getting a canopy installed this week. A guy at my work has for sale a 12-month-old Thumper Lithium 40 AH Battery Pack, with Iac cord, 12 volt cord and Anderson plug cord and wiring harness loom full battery and smart alternator. He has just gone a full redArc setup dual battery in the back. And wants $400 half price for it. Any idea what an auto electrician would charge to install this if I did get it installed.

can I use air fryer with power station ?

You possibly could, however, you would have to check that it the power consumption was under 2000w. The inverter in the power station is 2000 watts

The power station is better, because once it shits it’s self, which it will, you just put a new battery in.

I'm only five minutes in, but struggling to watch. You need a script to follow rather than doing it on the fly, as the ums and ahs and uncertainty of what you are trying to say is bloody annoying. Also, have a drink and clear your throat, or video another time if you're feeling crook.
I struggled through to where you said about providing us good information: is that like it was a 160watt unit with a 2000watt inverter, or where you said it didn't have an Anderson on it, but you could run an Anderson from the back of vehicle to it?
All the gear, but no ...

Yes, mate, thanks for your very constructive criticism. Others seem to find it informative and helpful with no complaints. I'll wait for your video mate, cheers!
