Not sure if anyone commented on this but the lyrics from the song in the very beginning is a famous poem by one of the last emperors of the Tang dynasty (Li Yu) and the scene there probably depicts him being forced to commit suicide when he was captured by a rival king. The poem depicts his feelings about his capture. Nice touch as this game is said to be based in that time period when the Tang dynasty was falling apart!
this is wrong.. he was captured by a rival king (first emperor of song) for 3 years by this time. He made this poem and the king thought he had thoughts of restoring the southern tang dynasty and forced him to commit suicide. although the creator of the southern tang was a branch of the Trang royal family, he was not actually a emperor of the OG Tang dynasty.

But then as if the past was all a dream, we are slapped awake by reality. In the officialdom, corruption is rife, work is unproductive and never-ending, and talents are stifled by the upperclass and the more powerful. They are worked hard with no chance for promotion. And then so much regret when there is suddenly war, but he is already an old man and cannot serve his country. Well. Quite ominous indeed xD
Love the entire Xianxia aspect in addition to the setting. Could be the first time a game is set during the Ten Kingdoms period which is after the fall of the Tang Dynasty. The clothing as well is authentic

Single player games that offer unique story and experiences will outlast cookie cutter, shooter clone games in the long run. Watch this space.
I'm a huge fan of Chinese cultivation novels and webcomics, yet still haven't had a decent game in the genre to scratch that itch, this may be the one.
Exactly that's why I'm very iffy about this game, Chinese games tend to have a great animated beggining and after a while of playing them you start to see it all drop and become a soulless game
After playing Sword and Fairy 7 this means so much to me. A game less stiff and more open, that contains similar story elements, combat and weapon arts; just what I've been desiring.
This would change the style of gaming combat in so many future games only problem with with tripe A games today is they've dodged the old concepts and patience it took to create something actually enjoyable. I'm really excited and hope they don't disappoint.
Looks phenomenal, though it might just be a vertical slice meant to generate hype and recruit new devs, so keep that in mind Of all those Chinese action games that have been popping up recently, there has yet to be one that's actually playable to the public. Gives off Black Myth: Wukong vibe: unknown chinese studios keep releasing those amazing looking gameplays and trailers that look like marketing grabs mixing literally the best western and japanese games this industry has to offer and leave it at that. No estimated release dates, no specific platforms, just great looking games coming out of nowhere.
Great looking if you ignore the insane performance stuttering, 2009 esque combat animations, and no real unscripted gameplay . It looks pretty. That's it. They barely showed anything but idle animations.
Someone has to say it. Like on a big channel. Most of these games seem like false advertising at best. Hoping they aren’t, but have a feeling they will be.

This game is suspicious, but Sun Wukong development has been pretty transparent and even said that it probably wouldn't come out for an extremely long time, like 2024 when the initial trailer was shown. Your instant dismissal is kinda unreasonable when this is definitely a case by cade basis thing.

As long as there is tons of acrobatics in the open world and tons a great side missions with tons of interior spaces to be and flee from than the game should be great but there definitely needs to be alot of fun open world acrobatics like jumping through trees or something

This looks amazing! Visually stunning, appealing gameplay, it reminds me so much of Ghost of Tsushima, but this takes more of an RPG approach. I’m glad to see these new games taking inspiration from Ghost, definitely gonna play the moment it’s released

Looks very cool. The environments really look like Ghost of Tsushima though, like the way the light hits the grass was JUST like it.

Do these games ever get released or is it only trailers? They look nice but it's hard to look forward to them when they don't have release dates.
It just got revealed many games don't give a release date on reveal cause they are unsure when the games will be ready but if the game shows gameplay its usually 2 years off or less rarely more

Finally we have chinese fantasy (Wuxia/Xianxia/Xuanhuan) in the gaming industry for West players, usually chinese fantasy games is kept only for chinese players they dont even bother to tanslate in english, now we have Black Myth Wukong and Where Winds Meet, lets hope for many games using chinese fantasy !!!! I'm so happy iv'e always loved reading Xuanhuan, wuxia, Xianxia !

This definitely has that Ghost of Tsushima vibes written all over this game. This time it taking place in an old dynasty periods of China. Man first Wukong and now this one. Definitely stoked to playing these games.
@Kenny Sai Japan has not taken from China. Japan has carefully inherited the things imported from mainland China for more than 1,000 years through ancient and legitimate diplomatic channels. Japan has not experienced a change of dynasty.
On the other hand, China is destroying everything with its own hands in a revolution of dynastic changes that occurs in a span of 300 years. This is the crime of the ancestors of the Chinese people.
