Mixing zombie apocalypse and the medieval is honestly a really cool unique idea, this looks really fun

I've wanted this ever since reading Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide - one of the vignettes at the end involves a Roman legionnaire discovering his former soldiers reanimated as zombies and saving a young local tribersperson from them
Dying Light Hellraid is worth a go if you like this style.
Zombies are a staple of medieval fantasy settings, but rarely the main course.
This is exactly what zombie/infected games need, different settings and different time lines.
Big companies don’t really take risk these days unless it’s the Japanese them mfs make anything and a lot of the time it does well

Kinda seems like a legit idea- especially with the plate mail to prevent zombie bites.
It’s cool to see studios mix genres and take some risks again. If it plays how it looks, this will be a hit

@@guywhodoesstuff3314 maybe if journalists stopped giving 97 metacritic to games that haven't changed since 2003 and a recycled game design so lazy and outdated you get a game over + loading at the last checkpoint because you tried to flank a group of ennemies like RDR2, studios would try different things. Why would you take risks when you can do the same thing over and over and be rewarded for it ? Even worse on this generation all the games that were new franchises where the developers tried original things they had never done before, most of these games got completely shitted on by casuals

This actually looks and feels like something glorious, yet simple in the setting. Giving it that desolate, wild, supernatural, and unsettling feeling. A medieval wild world being decimated by the living dead.
Makes more sense using medieval gear in that setting. No bites issue in full suit of armor.

Why is nobody talking about the stellar sound design, all those small cracks, echoes, environmental noises, you literally can feel the change in wind, and not to mention the subtle music which also is incredible
Meanwhile the character shown is sneaking around in plate armor, not making any plate armor sounds!
I’m wearing a Woojer haptic vest while watching this and you can feel the wind and very deep sound. I’ll be using this thing with this game for sure.

FINALLY, medieval 3rd person action based survival zombie game. I've been wanting for something like this for way too long.
But can't tell from this trailer how open and big this really is. It does seem more linear atm.

There really was nothing about this trailer that indicated it's a survival game. Not saying it isn't and obvi "survival" is in the title of the game but that doesn't mean it is one.

This trailer showed that developers took a lot from "A Plague Tale: Innocence", for example
Loving the stealth gameplay in full plate armour. Could maybe attach airhorns to his feet then he'd be truly undetectable.
That said, will still definitely be playing it.

Big fan of the over the shoulder camera style. It shows off how gruesome yet clean the killing animations are. It also adds tension and paranoia when coming face to face with an enemy. You never know when a blight will jump you from your side or back. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this game.

Awesome medieval games come out all the time, some of the best RPGs that have come out in recent memory are medieval, they just aren't CoD or something that gets the spotlight most of the time.

The weighty movements, the tackles, the looting animations... It all feels inspired by RDR2's very deliberate and grounded style of interaction. Interested to see where this goes.

Ever since watching the Kingdom series, I’ve thought of a medieval version. This will be incredible.
I'm kind of impressed. Even his body language of fatigue after swinging and the slack in his arm when he strikes shows they actually modeled it after someone fighting like an actual human in armor rather than some perfect automation with limitless stamina.
Definitely adds to the survival element. Your timing has to sync with your actual energy level to make the strikes count.
Yeah it's impressive. And then they go around pretending it's possible to sneak up on someone when you're wearing plate armor, lol

@@redletterl78 the devs confirmed that the plate and mail armors will be worse at stealth compared to leather and cloth armor. They've been around in the comment of the videos responding to feedback

@@julianjaimes197 plate is lighter than chainmail and Kevlar. And more flexible. Unless you're running a marathon it's not going to be an issue and definitely worth it.
It kind of reminds me of A Plague Tale, but with a different theme.
Starting your trailer with one of the most hardcore moves in medieval combat certainly has my attention.

That was one of the most gorgeous debut gameplay trailers I've ever seen. Really immersive with excellent audio, atmosphere, action and motion-capture as well. That's how you nab attention right from the get-go.

I'm really interested in seeing the lore involving these undead and the reactions of the people at the time.
Hopefully it’s like undead nightmare where no one knows what’s going on because a “zombie” wasn’t heard of in those times.
The movement looks very polished and the environment looks so immersive, I'm a sucker for zombie games and have been wanting something like this for ages!

looting animation will get tedious after a while once you done it 100 times, should be skippable imo.
@@Vikingskog Nah looting animations are key for me personally to feel immersed, it looks dumb if your character just stands over a corpse and magically acquires an item
Nah Viking is right. All the animations will get tedious at some point. Eventually you might even be looking for a way to turn off finishing moves. Of course that depends on how much you play the game tho. But guys seriously: GAMEPLAY>EVERYTHING

This has the potential to be epic. The way you loot corpses is one of those little bits that shows impressive attention to detail.

3rd person over the shoulder perspective is what keeps me going in life.
The fighting looks super unique! Much more real life, tackling your enemy to the ground and struggling, dodging with your arms in the air trying to avoid being cut. Just wow. Looks really promising and I'm not even a fan of zombie games
against a zombie tackling him down does not look like a smart idea specially if you have such a long sword at your disposal

Awesome looting animations. If they animated pulling arrows out of corpses that would really put this over the top for me.
Or better yet a mecanic simular to lockpicking were you have to carefully remove the arrow without breaking it

Reminds me of a medieval Dead Space. That close-over-the-shoulder camera can cause extreme claustrophobic feelings during tight corridors or sneaking. Hope they use it well.

Most important thing to me right now is enemies and creatures. Zombie games can be boring if they don't have lots of different creatures and zombie variants. Not only that, but the combat between each creature and variant needs to feel different, this is not a hack and slash.
It looks like the item that the player found in that chest was a sword HILT.
If that's correct then it means you can modify the individual elements of your melee weapons, and that's amazing.

@@Paolini_18 If a knight couldn't run or climb in armour, they wouldn't be nearly fit enough to be a knight. Armour isn't that heavy.

If you’re talking about the 15th century plate armour this player is wearing, in reality it would be terrible in a zombie apocalypse.
It is cumbersome and tiring, restricts your vision, makes you a lot slower, and is very loud.
Streamers and people who do walk throughs will love this.

It's just a cool medieval zombie game that i'll definitely play but im not expecting it to be amazing. It kind of reminds me of Ryse SOR and TLOU
