You know later in the game you can find a letter Ghilan'nain wrote to Elgar'nan and she's pissed about this and that she's actually happy that all the Venatori there got slaughtered
“They’re going to kill a halla? Just for fun?” The Inquisitor, farming animal skins because they just can’t decide between Halla Leather and Nug Leather: 🤔
The Antagonists in this game are clowning. Look I get that Tevinter loves its Blood Magic and Old Gods, but how can they support a bunch of madmen that are blighting the world and using Archdemons as weapons? Like how stupid can the Venatori/Qunari be to think they'll be spared? They're not even Elves. If anything Elves should have made a majority of their cannon fodder, Elves actually have a reason to side with their Gods and believe in the ''Good ol' days'' and to think that they'll get in a position of power again. But HUMANS? Qunari? Bruh they would've been mass murdered as soon as the Elven Gods won.
Okay, so this is one thing that I feel doesn't make total sense. I know Ghila'nan had some back and forth with (I think Elgar'nan) about her attachment to Halla and like it seeming like a weakness which she kinds skirts around the claim. But regardless of the mind-game/power-struggle between evanuris, wouldn't this be a deep affront against Ghila'nan and I am curious why she wouldn't be at least a little pissed - like it would be one thing if they used it for a spell, but they literally just popped it blood and guts everywhere for shits and giggles. And I remember like some note afterwards when Elgar'nan fed the venatori to his archdemon (for a different reason), but it feels weird she wasn't more explicitly angry and didn't do something a bit more direct and intentional about it. I might be putting too much thought into it.
@@lonespectre5329yeah because all the actual decaying, pulsating, blight is super toned down from the bootleg Tolkein orcs we were foisted with in origins
@ You mean the cartoony boils and roots we see? Before, the Blight looked like melted flesh all over the damn place. Now it looks like messed up shrubbery.
@@sambishop9856while the blight in DAV is different (as it is wielded by evanuris), the way darkspawn work in the absence of evanuris (how brood others are made) is some of the darkest stuff there is in the franchise. This was probably one of the darker moments in the game, but it can’t hold a candle to broodmother origins. And I’m okay with that. But some wanted to see more of that darkness
@@lonespectre5329 even compared to the other games, this scene was very graphic and disturbing. I can almost guarantee there must be a story to how this scene made the cut---there is no way most of the writers would want this moment in their Wholesome Big Chungus disney adventure game.

I was about to ask if she wouldn't be upset about this
Understandable seeing how she reacts to her dragons death. The halla are her children. Her reaction is justified.
It read more like she was delighted he choose those who did it for the sacrifice instead

I'll give them this one. Didn't expect the agonized halla sounds
Poor halla
Oh gods, this scene was so disturbing ☹☹

She was angry. There is a note where she complains to Elgar'nan about it and says she is glad all his pet Venatori ended up slaughtered
this game has no consequences. play any of the first dragon age games.
B-but the game isn’t dark? 🤣
One exploded halla isn't exactly grimdark. It's awful, sure. But this is lightweight compared to what we used to see in this franchise.

Poor Dragon Age series.
Worst. Game. Ever.
Idk. I seem to be having a lot of fun with this "worst game ever". 🤷
Oh yeah if you can get past all the cringy moments and confusing storylines it’s not bad
Yeah totally hate this game. Especially now that I’m on my THIRD playthrough. It’s absolute torture.
@ Wow that many? Ether you are really bored with life or you got the guts to spend it to play the third time but bravo I guess
