It’s less dramatic or grand than some other voices but when it came to Puccini or Mozart, no one could match her for pure honey-infused wonderfullness

I agree with TenorTalker… Her very best performance of this. Not many people seem to perform this one - I wonder why with all these continuous long high notes!. I saw Angela Gheorgieu in La Rondine in London many years ago, but few people seem to do this now. The opera itself is middle of the road. Wonderful Kiri!

oh i agree, the recording is the best. i just meant of all the live performances of it ive seen on youtube, this has been the best one however, you cant deny her voice was better here than it is now. i dont mean to say she doesnt still have "it". she can still sing anything

I know he’s supposed to be one of the greatest bases of all time, but every time I listen to him, I think he has such a weird voice. He does all this strange stuff that no other bass singers do. And he did not have really good notes. Listen to Siepi and Ghiaurov if you want to hear a really great basses singing this aria.
