Structure was a THING!
Ladies - when I worked as an Investigator at the Coroner’s office in Los Angeles County in the late ‘80’s and early ‘90’s I encountered a few of these cases. On the death certificate the manner of death would be stated as Accidental and the mode of death would usually be listed as Autoerotic Asphyxiation unless there were some other circumstances other than actual asphyxiation. The vast majority are due to Asphyxiation. This makes the cause of death very clear to the decedent’s next of kin, but they may not choose to share the details with others. Before working at the Coroner’s office I worked at two different branches of the Forest Lawn Mortuaries, but I never worked with a family dealing with these particular circumstances (thank heavens!).
Any death or crime related FB groups I’m in people use abbreviations or other ways of saying things due to FB rules. Common ones I see are sewerslide, cancelled themselves, unalived, etc lol
