      Try using the Reynolds oven cooking bags (make sure you get the turkey size). Follow the directions exactly for cooking time based on the weight of your turkey. The only way it will end up dry is if you cook it too long. I've been doing it this way since I got married at 19 (38 years ago), and I've never made a dry turkey. You can do it! Good luck

      @@sandyrice3559 What do you use for rubbing the outside of the turkey?

    • @sandyrice3559
      @sandyrice3559 Год назад +3

      @@lilliearvizu9447 I mix whatever herbs I'm using, (usually garlic, thyme, sage, salt and pepper), with a stick of softened butter. Then I smear the mixture all over the outside of the skin, as well as between the skin and breast meat. Or you could just brush a light layer of the oil of your choice on the skin, and sprinkle with dry herbs and spices.
      I like to put the butter mixture under the skin on the breast because, if anything is going to dry out, it's usually the breast first.

I also use to take in Foster kids, back when the state gave you nothing. I did it for Love. I raised 4 biological kids. WoW, we were in need, never got the turkey or those things at school, this I meanas a child. I always wonder if the teachers were the ones getting the help because their pay was less because of the holidays.
    As a single mother in a more affluent neighborhood, I got a voucher and other help from our local school district. The food would go to the local food bank. I never found out where. At that school district, we had food drive just after Halloween, and as soon as we came back from Thanksgiving. I believe that it gave them enough time to make the baskets/boxes. This year, I received a miracle, (I personally call those, " I Love You from Our HEAVENLY FATHER ❣️". I was very sad not to have a turkey for many reasons. I finally found the Turkeys for 65ç lbs., but all frozen and not Butterball. Then, my youngest pointed out one that was almost thawed out. So, I put it on my walker stormed through the store looking for the other ingredients. We have traveled some storms these last few months. Thankful we definitely are always, even during the heaviest storms. We are blessed never to lose hope.

    So, as I'm watching this, I am realizing I need to have a second Thanksgiving dinner, so that we can have a better turkey!! Love you, Steph and Cloud! 'And, so love your words of gratitude. If we can't be grateful, we'll lose everything. Being thankful is empowering and so are your recipes. Thank you.

    It was time cooking the turkey. My husband always does it but this time I told him I wanted to try it for the first time. SUCCESS! Everyone loved it and was flavorful and I for one don’t care too much for turkey but this year I had some on my plate 😊. Thank you again for this step by step!! 💕

    ‼️QUESTION‼️my broiler is at the bottom of the oven, in your previous turkey video you say to turn the oven to 500 to get that roasted color but how long does it take to get the color and will that dry out the turkey while it’s in there roasting at such high heat? I want a nice color but I’m scared it’ll become dry😭

      Yeah. My thoughts exactly. If you roast until done and then have to turn around and cook until brown, it will be dust! I do NOT trust this recipe. Food is too expensive to take that chance. NO FREAKING WAY!!#
