Don't understand why fans don't recall Tasha Yar had a child, a daughter with a Romulan that went on to be the Romulan leader...and history changed from that moment on ...which was Picard's fault. Great modeling as always, Lou!
Excellent work as always Lou. Just bought your painting masks for this. Am uncertain about lighting, though. Lighting the nacelle isn't as big a deal, it's the windows. Would you use fiber optics possible for the saucer windows since they're located adjacent to all that thick plastic? I'm thinking of lighting the nacelle, the deflector, the bridge and maybe adding some running lights...but possibly not bothering with windows. Thoughts?
I'd forget the windows were I you. it's the same deal as the Excelsior/Enterprise B... those windows are so tiny, you'd be better off just taking a rapidograph pen and dotting those in.
The pearl coat worked a treat! you're welcome ;) it may have been my suggestion, but it was your stroke of genius to put it over the top of the decals and all. Well done, sir!
great work as always Lou.....very cool about getting Kevin Conroy's autograph. I did the same thing at Comic Con last year. Great guy...really nice to the fans. Hope all is well.
I absolutely love your angle on the timeline divergence caused by Captain Picard. It makes mucho sense, but what timeline did Picard return to then? I'd have to rewatch First Contact to be sure but I thought they returned to an un/re/unaltered timeline. In any sense, I always considered the Abramverse a splintered timeline anyway, so your explanation is perfectly sound. "I Hate Temporal Mechanics" -Chief O'Brian
in the Doctor Who universe they have a thing where the change takes time to ripple up the timeline, so Picard may just have beat the ripple back at the end of the film or the changes may have ironed themselves out a bit by Picard's time
@@aztekdummy Great googly moggly man, you're using the laws of one universe to rationalize another (I love it btw). However, Dr. Spengler would tell you not to cross the streams-ultimately though-we both know what had to be done. So be it then; Capt. Picard goes to sleep in his normal timeline but wakes up the next morning in a rust-riddled silo near the Mexican border being cared for by a psychopath with razors for knuckles, and once again, everyone thinks he's nuts. LOL I always loved a good crossover. Love your work and attitude dude. Keep'em coming.
I decided to go with the Reliant first to get my feet wet as far as lighting and wiring a kit. I did mine using no lighting kit from some body paying $100 . I used a navigation system for an RC plane and LED strips and individual leds. Its been a real challange.
Bad news guys -- The Boxset of Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1995, 1997-1999) HAS the animated films Batman:Mask of the Phantasm and Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero along with the TV episodes. Those films are considered part of the TV continuity. They've also been sold separately ahead of the TV series. The discs of those films included with the TV boxset should probably be the same discs already being sold now so I wouldn't worry about extras being cut out. They usually don't bother remastering movie discs when they rebundle them, especially when it's been less than four years since they were released as singles. I didn't buy Sub-Zero because I'm not as crazy about that film but have Mask of the Phantasm on Blu ray as of last year. Great film (Phantasm), definitely the best Batman film I've got, PERIOD. The only live-action Batman I have on Blu ray IS Adam West's live-action film. I have seen the two Batman animated films where West played the title character but I did not care to own them. I really haven't liked that many of the animated Batman projects aside from the 1990s TV series.
Unless they had severe financial problems, Polar Lights should already have released the Reliant! They HAD A PROTOTYPE READY!!! It's only the most-requested 1/350 scale TOS kit AFTER the Enterprise (TOS and Refit) itself! I sometimes can't understand what Polar Lights is thinking!!!! The Reliant is a major pain-in-the-ass to kitbash out of the 1/350 scale Enterprise... Kudos to those who have both the patience AND skill to do that but honestly 85% of the modelers are waiting for PL to get off their butts and finally release the kit they've had mocked up for at least 5 years now!
Kelvin pearl spots looks great. Shipping models! Aiiieee. Needs a foamy cocoon that is held down. Tough engineering problem. Scotch-Lite thoughts; I think that intermittent orange is an artifact of the focusing laser. It is a consistent shade of orange that seems like reminds me of infra-red as seen by CCD sensors. OR someone had the EXIT sign just behind them when taking the picture! Why would one part look orange and another appear white? The closer one is to the subject, the narrower the focus aid beam. All arm-chair thinking. Could be something else.
I think you're on to something, there. I hadn't thought of the "auto focusing beam" as the culprit. I was thinking the room lighting was bringing up a spectrum in the scotchlght
Great vid Lou, not too much of a J.J. fan but awesome job on the Kelvin. Oh you sly dog, I'm on the list wink wink. Lol. Keep up the fabulous work. Until next week, same Aztec time same Aztec channel, Build on Brother.
Cool model, so do we blame Picard for the horrible Jar Jar aesthetics? (Tongue in cheek remark) Easier to just tune out all JJ and Kurtzman trek and aesthetics from existence/cannon.
The Franklin was the only ship I liked. True the Kalvin was actually preKalvin. It is a JJ Prise Enterprise design. Its not a Jeffries design. THATS the difference. Rather than call it Kalvin time line or whatever It is Jeffries design versus JJ Design. why didnt the shuttle have opening doors? Thats crazy to detail an interior and then NOT make the door open. Its a beautiful model. I am glad he lit it up with navigation lights. If you ask me, it should have had two spot lights up front mabe even have then angled to the ground to assist in landing. One of my first Enterprise models was the Shuttle. Someday I may build another shuttle and light that baby up.
I hope to god on the final kit they thin and reduce the depth those panel lines. I don't understand what it is about Trek model companies that make these stinkin huge panel lines. The Round 2 Defiant is awful.

Lou Dalmaso that’s what I thought, thanks Lou. I appreciate the advice.
Your kelvin look great. One of the best model projects I have seen. Makes me want to get back into it. thanks for posting this.
The pearl coat worked a treat!
you're welcome ;)
it may have been my suggestion, but it was your stroke of genius to put it over the top of the decals and all. Well done, sir!
and thank you sir. it was just the trick
Lou Dalmaso, where did you get the Magotu on the shelf behind you??
That was a playmates co. Figure made in the 90s. They made a gorn and a series of the captains plus spock
great work as always Lou.....very cool about getting Kevin Conroy's autograph. I did the same thing at Comic Con last year. Great guy...really nice to the fans. Hope all is well.

I really like that BOP. Im gonan try the polar lights 350 enterprise TOS as my first big model

That TOS shuttle is awesome!!! I've always loved that ship. I wish they'd make a commercially available large kit of it.
That’s one of the greatest fan theories I’ve heard.
any word on model release date for the kelvin ? great job my favorite ship trek wise. if you ever wanna let her go ill take her. lol
they say February. we'll see
Hey Lou, love your work on the test shot! Have you gotten the full release, and do you plan on featuring it on your channel?
Thanks!
I do have a production kit with big plans to light it. Coming soon to this same bat channel!

How in the world is that bad news?
The iridescence panels looks really good! Really the makes surface of that model!
What's the length on this?
the Kelvin measured 12 inches long. I know the official length has been stated as 11 but mine is 12
I believe Polar Lights is possibly thinking about a 1/350 scale reliant since they have the 1/350 scale K'Tinga coming out this year.
Unless they had severe financial problems, Polar Lights should already have released the Reliant!

I spit my coffee at the com-art desert island line Lou! HAHAHAHAH!!!

What happened to George Kirk? James T. Kirk older brother who was killed on Deneva from the episode "Operation -- Annihilate!"
supposedly, that was the kid Jimmy passed in his "dad's" car when he stole it.
Model makers for film did alot of kit bashing and that very well could be the Jupiter II.
Kelvin is looking good.
Highlight of my week 😁
A great build!

it seems to be the style these days. I guess they are trying to appeal to a beginner crowd. those big panel lines to hide a multitude of painting sins
I've said much the same about First Contact creating a new timeline.
