Just in case the neighbor doesn't know, messing with the mail,in any way,is a federal offense. Several of my uncles and also my dad were employed by USPS as letter carriers!
My uncle was also a letter carrier. Didn't learn how stringent the rules about mail boxes were until later, but I knew USPS took a dim view of any door to door pamphlet distribution that used the mail box or slot.
Yea apparently just putting a letter in someone's mailbox even if it isn't malicious could get u in trouble & u can even get in trouble for putting something in ur own mailbox if it is intended for someone other than the mail carrier
Shouldn't have asked in the first place. OP should have just called the cops the first time. When the neighbor comes to complain, feign ignorance passive-aggressively. "I didn't know the @$$hole who blocked my mailbox was your friend. He really was a dumb@$$ for parking there wasn't he? I guess he won't do that again, huh? Lesson learned."
What about the missing inventory? Was that resolved? Did it continue after office manager was fired? The story is over the top and at the same time incomplete. I doubt its veracity.
As to the first story that jerk got his over inflated ego deflated. As to the second story that nasty person over stepped her bounds and got what she deserved. No job. She should have been charged with and convicted of theft for tsking a computer without paying for it. As to the last story the neighbors were asked multiple times and didnt listen. They learned an expensive lesson.
*First Story:* RedWheel said what I was going to say: ask questions you don't want answered. That captain learned that the hard way. *Second Story:* Susanna reminds me of two different "managers" I've had in my career. Both were tyrants who hated having anyone say "No" to them, much less stand up for themselves. Both also got fired for their antics. The first I had no direct hand in getting fired. The second? He made the mistake of getting on my bad side when I was a contracted worker, meaning I didn't work for him but his boss. As IT at the time, I shared records of him looking at adult sites at work and infecting the network with countless viruses. He was already on probation for viewing "unapproved sites" and was immediately fired with cause. No unemployment, no severance.
We had a miserable district manager that liked to ride people into the ground. He made all first level managers wear full suits. We were a construction division of a large company. Managers had to climb into manholes and walk thru active construction sites. He told one of our coworkers that he would never make management since he was the wrong race and sex. The man went home and ended his life. This manager was sent to our location after another employee did the same thing. A few weeks later after terrorizing the whole department one of his managers came into the meeting room and said he had died. There was an instant standing ovation by over thirty people in the room. The boss said he was disgusted with us and walked out.
"...never make management since he was the wrong race and sex." In other words, that coworker was white and male! Well, the District Manager WAS probably correct, because in some companies, blacks and women get priority in promotions in the name of "diversity." White men are put at the bottom of the list, no matter what the qualifications.
Happy Sunday RedWheel hope you are well. Thanks for always sharing your stories. Please stay safe.🏴😁😷👍. Have a great day and a wonderful week ahead everyone.
The next time you see them out there when you're backing into your garage, just glare back. Let them know with out doubt, their the problem, not you. I had a problem with a neighbor once, he would stand at the edge of my property, and try to stare me down. I'd stop mid stride, turn slowly to look at him with a smile, once we locked eyes my smile faded to an angry glower, he stopped showing up at my property line.
Last story, don't give the neighbor crap you've told them on multiple occasions to not block the damn mailbox they continually block the mailbox it's called consequences and it's called this is the only thing that's going to stop them from parking there so f them!
Blocking the mailbox: If they take you to small claims court, just say that “it was a regulatory action done by a regulatory official.” It was out of your hands.
I don't understand why ppl always seem so shocked or upset when their actions meet consequences. This isn't some new concept. Any action u take has a consequence sometimes it's positive other times it's negative but it's inevitable. Especially when u were warned multiple times about something that u had every opportunity to change or correct & u did nothing. So ur action or rather inaction was met with the consequence & in this case it was having a car towed. It doesn't matter that OP didn't know the car would be towed, they're the ones who set it all in motion. And if the driver of the car wants to be angry or expects to be reimbursed for the fees then he needs to take it up with the neighbor, bc odds are they never said anything to their guest about not parking there. And like a lot of entitled ppl the neighbor probably felt like he was above the rules or law
Last story: Granddad taught me the old, old saying: "A word to the wise is sufficient." One polite request should have gotten the neighbor's friend not to park in front of OP's mailbox ever again. Continuing to do so, especially considering the circumstances, was complete douchebaggery.
On the last story again, op, if they do mess with your mailbox, call the post office, the people who take care of mail post general I think they are called will deal with them. It is a Felony to mess with the mail or mailbox.
In a previous life, office Karen was 'fragged' in her tent - she was in the Salvation Army at the time... Give the mailbox cholesterol a tuppence towards his ticket and tow...
The last story, seeing that the guest had parked their car on your neighbours driveway. After getting their car towed, why couldn’t they have done that in the first place then.
Survey story: That captain was an idiot. When I was in the Navy, a couple of the best officers I knew were former enlisted. But that's not universal. He should have realized that surveys could be filled out to make him look worse than what no surveys would have. Computer office story: I would have tried to find a way to report her for the computer she essentially stole from the business. Mailbox vs towing story: I'm glad you didn't give them a single cent. There was plenty of parking available and he chose to be an ass and block your mailbox, even after you explained several times about medications coming via mail. It's on them and them only.
Office manager story, 😂😂 I love it when businesses just keep toxic useless employees and can't figure out why the business is struggling. They deserve the loss in revenue.
When ever someone doesn't like me an wants me to know by giving me dirty looks. I just give the biggest creeper smile and wave at them. Makes me laugh whe they get even more upset 😂
No, don't feel bad for reporting the neighbor. You repeatedly spoke to them about blocking your mailbox, but they didn't care until not caring started to get expensive.
If the mail person isn't delivering mail because of a car legally parked on the side of the street, then that's either on you or the mail carrier, not the person who parked the car. That's either your fault for having the mailbox where it can be blocked by a car legally parked, or it's the mail carrier's fault for lying about iy being undeliverable just because the mail carrier can't drive up to the mailbox.
Upon listening further, that's an odd ordinance. No parking within 15 feet of a residential mailbox. That sounds like that's pretty much no parking on a residential street. I'd look into suing the city under state law for that one if I was the neighbor.
Just in case the neighbor doesn't know, messing with the mail,in any way,is a federal offense. Several of my uncles and also my dad were employed by USPS as letter carriers!
Was going to mention that! 😊😊😊
My uncle was also a letter carrier. Didn't learn how stringent the rules about mail boxes were until later, but I knew USPS took a dim view of any door to door pamphlet distribution that used the mail box or slot.
More accurately it's a Federal FELONY...
The penalties can be Brutal so tampering with/Stealing Mail is a VERY bad idea...
Yea apparently just putting a letter in someone's mailbox even if it isn't malicious could get u in trouble & u can even get in trouble for putting something in ur own mailbox if it is intended for someone other than the mail carrier
That it is. And if mailbox is blocked, yes, have to do undeliverable. I worked for USPS for three months in 2018
Last story: "You could have just asked us!" OP: "You mean like I already have multiple times when you didn't listen?"
On the story about the evil office manager, you all should have told the general manager about the computer she NEVER paid for and took home.
Right? These are the kinds of holes in the story that make me think it's a fake story.
What about the missing inventory? Was that resolved? Did it continue after office manager was fired?
The story is over the top and at the same time incomplete. I doubt its veracity.
I almost felt sorry for the B in the 2nd story when she put her head down when walking out ..... almost. 😂😂😂 She FAFO'd!! 😅😅
I have little sympathy for narcissists.

Maybe the Boss needs to do the same thing

Narcissists getting told no when they have no power to make you say yes is one of my favorite things.
Turns out astronomers are wrong about largest object in the Universe. It's actually Susanna's ego.

Better being towed than a manslaughter charge for denying a sick child their medication.
mailbox OP they shouldnt block your mailbox at allregardless of "delivery hours"
Plus, OP was the adult and asked them nicely several times to not park there during mail delivery times. They chose to FAFO!!! 😂😂😂
Last story --- If parking within 15 feet of a mailbox is illegal, then the curb should be painted YELLOW for that 15-foot distance.

The only two ways to get a person to learn is either through pain or through their pocket book.
Good morning, all! Hope you are having a great day! Great stories, thank you for sharing! Catch you later!

Take you "Pressing charges" to your lawyer, the Cops might brush it off and do nothing, they often do.
On the last story again, op, if they do mess with your mailbox, call the post office, the people who take care of mail post general I think they are called will deal with them. It is a Felony to mess with the mail or mailbox.

Last story: They should have only received ONE warning before calling the police.
The best officers I served with in my time in the Air Force were prior and listed. Because they knew what it was like to be a peon.
Well I guess they found out what would happen if they kept parking there
A lesson well learned
Do not feel guilty about it
On the last story, op DO NOT give them anything.
The last story, seeing that the guest had parked their car on your neighbours driveway. After getting their car towed, why couldn’t they have done that in the first place then.
Oh so your son is in the hospital now because he didn’t get his meds in time? Well thats too bad but u need to pay to get my car out of tow

🔥🔥🔥🧙🏻♂
Good morning red. Hope you are doing well. Lets get into this.
