Academy Award-winning visionary filmmaker Kevin Costner directs New Line Cinema’s vast “Horizon: An American Saga” Chapters One and Two, a multi-faceted chronicle covering the Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. A story of America too big for one film, this true cinematic event also stars Costner, who co-writes with Jon Baird (“The Explorers Guild”) and produces through his Territory Pictures.
In the great tradition of Warner Bros. Pictures’ iconic Westerns, “Horizon: An American Saga” explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won-and lost-through the blood, sweat and tears of many. Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.
Costner, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington and Giovanni Ribisi star alongside an impressive ensemble cast that includes Abbey Lee, Will Patton, Jena Malone, Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Jeff Fahey, Isabelle Fuhrman, Ella Hunt, David O’Hara, Owen Crow Shoe, Tatanka Means, Tim Guinee, Scott Haze, Tom Payne, Alejandro Edda, James Russo, Jon Beavers, Jaime Campbell Bower and Michael Anganaro and more.
Costner returns to directing for the first time since his 2003 critically acclaimed hit “Open Range,” and revisits Civil War-era America, the setting for his 1990 blockbuster and directorial debut, “Dances with Wolves,” which won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. He produces alongside Howard Kaplan and Mark Gillard, with Danny Peykoff, Robert Scannell, Armyan Bernstein, Charlie Lyons, Barry Berg and Rod Lake executive producing.
Costner is joined behind the camera by director of photography J. Michael Muro (“Billionaire Boys Club,” “Parker”), production designer Derek R. Hill (“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” “The Magnificent Seven”), editor Miklos Wright (“For All Mankind,” “Open Range”) and costume designer Lisa Lovaas (“Ambulance,” “Transformers: The Last Knight”). The music is by Oscar nominee John Debney (“The Passion of the Christ,” “The Greatest Showman”).
New Line Cinema and Territory Pictures Present a Territory Pictures production, a Kevin Costner Film, “Horizon: An American Saga.” The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in theaters Across North America, the first on June 28, 2024, the second on August 16, 2024, and in select international markets-Spain and UK on those same respective dates, and Holland and Italy on 4 July and 15 August.

The last good Western that the critics panned was Tombstone. They were wrong about that one, but usually, the aggregate is correct.
Visually beautiful modern westerns are always welcome! Thanks to sir Kevin Costner for keeping westerns relevant and putting out new stuff for the genre
I watch a lot of old westerns from the 50s (Jimmy Stewart ones in particular) often just for the scenery. I'm expecting this one will be no different in the scenery department.

Costner has a way of making movies critics hates, but audiences grow to cult love. Postman (director), Waterworld (producer), dances w/wolves, etc. I'm excited to give them a try.

I've never seen a bad Costner film. He's had great ones, but never bad. If there's a criticism it can only be in keeping up with his massive successes. Looking forward to seeing this one to.

The critics predict the movie will make $12 Million opening weekend. The movie cost over $100 Million to make. I think Kevin will prove the critics wrong. Kevin said they are forgetting about his fan base. I’m betting on Kevin!
Folks…the critics don’t seem to like this film. Which means it’s epic and a must see. I’m all in.
It seems to be a film about the American spirit and the greatness of our country. Critics are Liberals, they hate the US, they will hate this movie.
The critics also hated Yellowstone so I’m all in.

This Movie Is Red Dead Redemption Meets The Lone Ranger
“Dances with wolves” dealt with the frontier; now it’s about the horizon. Must recognize Koster’s coherence as a story teller.

The postman is objectively terrible, nowhere close to open range or Hatfields and McCoys, much less Dances with Wolves.

I loved the postman too! And Waterworld was Oscar worthy for sure. I think anyone who doesn't like those movies probably spent their childhood huffing glue 😮

Absolutely love a western and was lacking since the Clint days. Open Range about did a nice top-up and happy for Costner to star. Nothing else been close for decades.

Listened to an interview this morning with Costner on NPR's New Yorker Radio Hour. He's invested his own money in this film and hopes it makes a boatload of money. I'm gonna do my part to help him make that happen.

They always do the brothers dirty. He has one of the greatest actors of our time, Glynn Turman who is in the movie, and he is not in this trailer’s or the official trailer’s credit. The seemingly little things always reveal so much.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who saw that, this came up as an ad on RUclips and I FULLY thought it was a Red Dead film. Sadie in front of the burning house, Micah, Arthur looking for John in the snow, John building his home. Genuinely believed I was seeing the gang for the first half of the trailer and was pretty bummed it wasn't RDR 😅😭
